I had the greatest day at Lake Austin spa! Everything about it was relaxing. The location of the spa is just enough removed from the city that you feel like you are really getting away from everything. When I checked in, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I loved that the atmosphere and the people were all very relaxed and down to earth...not pretentious like some places. The Blue Room was so pretty! What a nice place to wait! I had the Custom Comfort massage with Kimberly. She was amazing. That was the best massage I've ever had. And, she's truly a massage "therapist". I have poor circulation in my legs and feet which causes them to ache. She noticed it without my saying so and she made them feel so much better! And she recommended a couple physical therapy sort of things to help. I also had the Personal Best facial. My esthetician was Mitzi. She was really friendly and did a great job, as well. Choosing the music for the facial was a nice touch, too. The c... Read more

My husband and I were recently at the spa. I can tell you with certainty we won't be back. Our visit to the spa was most disappointing. I have been to the Camelback, the Couer d'Alene, Amelia Island Plantation, and The Woodmark to name a few. In all my visits to spas across the USA I have never had the displeasure of being spoken to in a derogatory tone while being hurried out of my private suite. Apparently some folks were going to be in the suite soon after us (though we weren't made aware of this until after the fact) so even though our suite came with a shower (which we thought we'd use to rid ourselves of all the massage oil, prior to putting our robes back on) and we were told to relax and take our time, they obviously didn't mean it. In fact, we had the cleaning lady pushing her way into the room as we were getting dressed. Then my masseuse had the audacity to remind me that there were showers in the locker room and that we should've used those instead. Unbelievable. How Lake Au... Read more

I went to Lake Austin Spa Resort for a girlfriend's pre-wedding bachelorette party. We were looking for a place to relax and unwind before the big day and Lake Austin Spa was the perfect spot. The facility and grounds are beautiful and the pool is a great place to lounge. We all got different treatments and then relaxed by the pool and sunbathes. My massage was awesome and we even had lunch in their sunroom out by the pool which was delicious and healthy. It was a perfect day! I can't wait to go back!

After seeing this spa at several magazines I expected at least a decent massage. I had a really bad experience and I am not going back. First off, I requested a female masseur but a guy showed up. I decided to give it a try since I've never had a male masseur before and it turned out to be a disaster. He never got the right amount of pressure and whenever I ask him to put less/more pressure, I was either in pain or not feeling any of my muscles "massaged". It was the worst massage I've ever had. My boyfriend didn't like his massage at all either. I am sticking to my regular spa even though I have to drive so much more. I loved eating delicious spa food at the cafe and the nature friendly setting is very pretty but you go to a spa to get a massage, not to eat.

I was expecting a little more from one of the top rated spas in the United States, but everything seemed about average with this visit to the spa. The changing facilities were nice, the robes & flip flops were nice. The blue waiting room seemed nice enough, very quiet. The massage was good & she asked if there were any special areas to be worked on. They had some complementary crackers & beverages in the kitchen when I got there but the crackers were gone by the time I finished my first treatment. I was dissapointed the Cafe closed so early as I was hungry after my massage & had time to waste before pedicure. The pedicure seemed average & no better then a walk in place. The pool was pretty but the weather was not great & it didn't seem worth the extra $25 I had to pay for the facilites usage.

In Short Guests enjoy cozy robes and the tranquil blue waiting room before indulging in an assortment of spa services. Treatment rooms (including outdoor cabanas and screened porch) reflect the resort's commitment to nature in addition to the organic gardens used in many of the spa products. Services (from a menu of more than 100 options) include massages, scrubs and wraps, East Asian therapies, facials and waxing. The Iris Salon offers men's and women's hair cuts and color, make-up application and nail services.

Take advantage of the accommodations such as the sauna, whirlpool, steam room, indoor lap pool, and outdoor swimming pool. All of these are yours to use for the entire day when you go to the Spa. The setting is gorgeous, the people are wonderful, there are pathways and trails down to the lake with flower gardens all around. It is obvious that this place spends a lot of time on the little details. This is a perfect place to go with a best friend or a lover on your day off. You can lay on the outside patio while getting a pumpkin wrap (or many of the other treatments) with your significant other (like I did ;) ). I HIGHLY recommend Lake Austin Spa Resort.

THE SERVICES WERE OK BUT OVERLY PRICED. THE SETTING WAS PRETTY BUT NOT REALLY WORTH DRIVING SOOO FAR OUT OF THE WAY. FOR A SPA BEING RATED TOP TEN IN THE NATION, IT WAS OK, BUT I HAVE HAD MUCH BETTER IN AUSTIN. SEEMED A LITTLE SNOOTY

Facilities are beautiful....the spa, pool and lake area are very nice. However, the pricing for the massages, facials and food are too much for what you get. Food is way below average...nothing special. The massage and facial are no better than what you get at a smaller more afforable spa.

It is worth saving your money for a spa experience at Lake Austin Spa. I have been frequenting this spa since 2002. It was great then, but in the past year they have made amazing renovations that made Lake Austin Spa a 5 star experience. If you make an appointment during the week you don't have to pay for the extra locker room fee. Although, if you have the money, the locker room serivce is worth more than $25 per day. During your massage they let you choose your own music instead of listening to what ever happens to be playing. You can also option for silence. The service, atmosphere and view is un-matched.

What an experience! This place is top-notch from the facilities to the staff, to the yummy spa cuisine. The environment is so relaxing! I've visited many other "spas" in Austin, and most of them have a lot to learn from this place. Great experience!

It is an experience I will never forget! It is more expensive than other dayspas however you get what you pay for. Attentive staff, great food but most of all the treatments. They are world class and so unique. You will not find anything like this around! No question about what I want for Christmas...

My sister and I were pleased with the results of our facial treatments (facial for me and microdermabrasion for sis). We both received coffee body treatments, which were amazing. The scrub leaves your skin super-smooth and polished looking. The massage leaves you feeling utterly and completely relaxed. They do something incredible with your hair that just makes you tingle all over. We both got comments on how our skin looked radiant for the next week. We finished our day with pedicures. My toes looked great for three weeks! My sister's pedicure didnt turn out so well. The girl she got kept cutting too deep with the cuticle cutters and the polish chipped off the next day. I would recommend the spa in a heartbeat. As for the nail services, I'd say skip it, since it's hit or miss. For what you pay, it better be a hit every time.

Prices are high and it is just to far from my work or home. Massage was okay but I will probably go back to my regular in town therapist.

As soon as you enter the gates you know this is like no other spa. The staff treated me like royalty (even though I had a gift certificate from a year ago that was about to expire) and made me feel completly comfortable. I went for a manicure/pedicure, but was pleased to discover I could also use the whirlpool, sauna, steamroom, swimming pools and the list goes on. The info above is somewhat wrong because smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises, which makes for a more enjoyable environment. When my treatment was over I was still free to utilize all of the facilities or just hang around and relax. This was heaven on earth for me and I will be going back again and again!

This is a totally enveloped retreat into the essence of getting in touch with yourself. Nature offers such awesome beauty in a setting where the staff is actively involved at a high personal level with their own whole body health programs and knows from their own experience how to help you achieve the same goal. The treatments are exceptional, and the facilities first class. The gardens and Lake Austin calm your spirit, and the chef provides menus that nourish your body. Nothing is left amiss to provide a completely healing result.

I had two treatments at Lake Austin and they wouldn't give me a robe to wear in between because the treatments were a la carte and not part of a package. When you're spending $300 in 2 hours, you'd think they could spring for washing a robe.

My first trip out there, I had a hot rock massage scheduled. Turns out I'm not an ideal candidate for this type of treatment, I couldn't take the heat... but the masseuse gladly switched gears and gave me a Swedish instead, which was wonderful. Another time went for a classic mani and waited about 45 mins past the scheduled appt time only to be rushed thru my service. The hand massage lasted about 15 secs. I expressed disaapointment as I was checking out and later that eve, a mgr called to let me know they were crediting me $25.

I had the pleasure of being able to have my spa treatment at Lake Austin Spa Resort. It was a Christmas present from my parents and let me tell you, it was the BEST present I've ever received. I picked the full body massage and I felt like I had gone to heaven -- it was absolutely wonderful. The staff of "angels" were terrific!! And the view was magnificent -- I felt like I was in a whole different country. I can't wait until my next visit. Keep up the good work!!
