UPDATE: Yeah, he, she whatever...is still super annoying. After a lot of peer pressure I went over to you tube and endured a couple videos. More than a few of my friends told me she is so original and she looks up to John Lennon for singing about what he believed in. I listened to Alejandro, which is supposed to be about gays in the military and how she supports it. OK, where exactly in this song does it say anything about gays in the military? It is nothing more than a dance club beat with stupid lyrics that have NOTHING to do with this particular subject. It's one thing to enjoy unintelligent pop songs, as I enjoy them quite often. HOWEVER, it is quite another thing to claim they are about something really deep when they truly are NOT! I went on to Pokerface...really? So far every song on every album sounds the same and it's all dance beat, no deep lyrics. And don't get me started on that stupid meat dress. She is nothing but an attention whore and it's getting old really fast. ... Read more

Who created this mess? Too brash, too manufactured. Can she even really sing? Lady Gaga knows how to generate hype and celebrity. Real talent? That seems to be overrated nowadays apparently.

Very annoying. She is ugly and whore and doesn't mind that she the Queen of slut pop. Thank god, her video, "Telephone" is flagged on youtube, though it should be removed as all of her videos. Is this a woman/man people want their children to look up to?

I don't find her very annoying, because I don't listen to her much at all, but she is a classic example of the trend towards style over substance in today's music industry. And by the way, check out some of her videos and do a count of product placements. You might be surprised.

Never understood why people thought she was untalented. HELLO!!! She was taught classic piano and can professionally play it. Her voice is good, too. So the next time you call someone untalented, ask yourself if you can play Bethoven, Mozart, and Chopin on the piano and if you can do it well. If so, then feel free to judge. If not, then STFU.

After hearing about her so much I was curious. I didn't see anything really appealing in her music but not that annoying either. She is different but it is on purpose. I really wondered about why people the kids were paying attention to her. I don't really mind her either though. I thought what silly costumes. Then I realized they were making all this fuss at the award show and what difference did it make. She has her own act there. I saw her with the silver star prop thing and I liked it. I decided she was ok in a way.

Never heard of her until a few days ago... So glad I pay no attention to celebrities (she is one, right?). UPDATE: I always admire a great harmless scam. P. T. Barnum would be proud.

[E]dt4 is 100% right: how this very talentless woman with the sex appeal of a mannequin comes out of nowhere to receive critical acclaim by others is just beyond explanation. Interviewers gawk at her for her supposed artistic talent, and magazines feature her as if she is some kind of rare musical prodigy, or worse: the next coming of...say Amadeus Mozart? Her music is noteworthy only for the fact that it is repetitive (and maybe catchy for those who think a scratchy broken record skipping repeatedly, and not by design, on one of those old turntables merits brilliant musical artistry). She is super annoying, but those who swear by her talents can be accused of worse. It does say a lot when music is dumbed down, and our society some how finds it appealing to the point where the severely untalented such as Lady Gaga are imprinted into our national consciousness. Yet, it isn't her fault. Lady Gaga put herself out there and the minions decided she was somehow worthy of this critical accla... Read more

have seen very little of her. I would not find her music interesting at all. guess she has to "put on that show" to sell her cd. she is really out there. but heck so have other celebrities trying to find a way to get that attention. bit shrug to me.

Go back to Yonkers! All your songs are in minor keys and are about how you are upset because some chick didn't dive right into your muffin.

Will someone please tell me where this untalented woman with all the sex appeal of a mannequin came from? She appears out of nowhere, and is suddenly ubiquitous--- I can't turn my TV channel without coming across her vapid image 24 x 7. People interview her reverently, as if she's someone of momentous artistic merit. They play her videos endlessly, each video sounding and looking the same. And none of it's music, or musical--- it sounds like the background drone that used to permeate Times Square back in the day when zombified, creepy guys dropped their quarters endlessly into the machines of various peep booths. It's dull, repetitive, numbing crap...and Lady Gaga is a superstar! The same culture that once produced Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Bob Dylan, Lena Horne, Diane Washington, Hank Williams, Arthur Lee and Love, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, Bill Evans, Frank Sinatra, the Stooges, Velvet Underground, MC5, the NY Dolls, etc. etc..... ....now produces Lady Gaga to join the numbi... Attention grabbing stunts are the stock and trade of the pop music industry. She appears to be good at what she does. Madonna has proved that solid self promotion and media manipulation skills can result in lucrative career longevity in lieu of creating a substantive body of work. Lady Gaga is just the latest of the many adherents to this business model.

I'd be lying if I didn't say a couple of her songs were catchy plus she's hot, but anyway, this rating may change.

Let's just say, if a major publication made a "typo" and called her Lady Gag, I don't think they'd get much hate mail.
