Sat Dec 13 2008I'll give him 4 stars for his career up to this year. However he has had a less then stelar year in 08, and needs to bounce back to his old self next year. Does he still have gas left in his tank? Only next season will tell.

Mon Dec 17 2007It is hard to put up great numbers after a season like his in 2006, but the numbers just keep coming. He is the best running back in the game.
by football222
Wed Dec 05 2007ladainian tomlinson is the greatest football player to touch an nfl ball. he will be the greatest running back in history when all said and done. he just past walter peyton on the all time rushing td list with 111 in only 7 seasons and the 7th isnt even over. emmit smiths record 164 tds in a career accured in 15 years of playing. if LT played that long he would have about 230 tds shattering all records. greatest running back of all time, and the athletes he plays against are far superior to the athletes back in the day. not taking anything away . just saying with the technology. LT BEST OF ALL TIME!! CANT BE STOPPED!!
by ben999
Thu Feb 22 2007Best running back in the past decade. The only question is whether he’ll go down as the best ever.

Sun Jan 21 20072006 NFL MVP...nuff said.

Sun Aug 13 2006How can anybody rate this man below a 4? This is for present day players, not people saying he's the best of all time. Pure runningbacks are becoming a thing of the past. Even 20-25 carry backs are becoming fewer as situational backs are coming into the game. He's a 3 time pro-bowler, his jersey IS ALREADY IN CANTON (thanks to scoring TDs in 18 consecutive games), he has scored 80 TDs in just 79 career games, and his college number has been retired at TCU. He holds the College Division I-A single-game record for rushing for 406 yards AS A JUNIOR. And he is only 27 years old! A few more solid seasons and a deep run in the playoffs will GUARANTEE that he will be a hall of famer. In today's NFL a back who can contribute in the passing game and handle 20 carries a game is an amazing asset. When you are consistently towards the top in total yards and touchdowns every year you have to be a good player. LT has done more for the Chargers than Michael Vick ever would have. They... Read more

Fri May 19 2006Best running back in the NFL today. Every coach would tell you that. If he stays healthy, he will be one of the top three of all time. I have no doubt.
by tjsays
Sat Apr 22 2006There is no overall back better than this guy. Reggie Bush may compare in years to come though.
by asskickingboot_s
Mon Mar 27 2006LT is definetly amongst the elite backs in the league. No doubt he's a perrenial pro bowler for a reason. Marty Schottenheimer believes he's the best running back to put on a jersey. I would like to distance myself from that frame of mind since I'm sure Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Marion Motley, Eric Dickerson, Larry Csonka, and many others all would have something to say about that. I don't think LT sucks. He's one of the best backs in the NFL. However, he might not be deserving of a Pro Bowl this year. Besides, he has the help of an underrated o-line and the best blocking fullback in the league in Lorenzo Neal. UPDATE: That one highly overlooked player, the fullback, means just as much to a running game as a dominating left tackle does to the passing game. It is the key blocking component. The Chargers, despite some injury problems and a couple young guys in there, had better linemen grades generally speaking than they did last year. They aren't a lousy line and will only look b... Tue Mar 14 2006Alright, this year proves, LaDainian "God" Tomlinson is undisputably the best runningback and probably the best player in the NFL today. Over 30+ TD's, rushing & all rec/rush yard leader and tied for 1st on YPC.

Sun Feb 19 2006Fantastic best rb in the game
by chargerfan99
Sat Jan 14 2006he is the best rb in the league. he's never rushed for under 1300 yds in his career, and hes never rushed for under 10 tds.
by cltcmmder17
Tue Jan 10 2006Meh...Not even close to the best back in history. I can name 20 that i would rather have. Starting with Alexander, Larry Johnson, Marshall Faulk, Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Oj, and so on. He will not win a rushing title he is not a big time rusher. Only reason people consider him good is because they throw to him alot. Look at Marshall Faulk. Leader in yards from scrimmage many times. 26 TDs 1 year. He is better.

Wed Dec 21 2005This guy is great, he plays for the San Diego Chargers and looks like a lightning bolt on the field he has it all. He's a downhill runner that cannmake you miss and can catch Drew Brees passes. He keeps defenses up all night watching film just to figure out how to stop him when they pretty much can't.
by legalize_it
Sat Dec 10 2005oh please, Alexander has to face the cupcake NFC West teams while LT had play the harder teams . Lets compare. When Alexander played the Redskins he had 98 yards on 20 carries on an OT loss. When Tomlinson played the Redskins he practically doubled that and had that run to win for the team in OT. Alexander played the Giants and had 110 yards on 31 carries(3.1 YPC) and one TD. Tomlinson had more yards (192) in less carries (21, making it a 7.2 YPC) and 4 TDs (one of them a passing). They both did a lousy job against Dallas, but Tomlinson still had more yards on less carries an SA. The only time LT had a worse day than Alexander facing the same team was Philly, which had a bizarre 7 yards (mostly because of his bad O-line) which the Eagles had two weeks to focus on stopping LT. If you're thinking why Alexander has more TD's than LT, it's pretty obvious, he has obviously a better line. Having Walter Jones and Hutchinson helps his game so much. So his whole left side is better, it makes t... Read more

Fri Dec 09 2005LT is a one of the best backs in the NFL but this hes the greatest simply is not true. Look at Alexander in Seattle for the best this year and his career vs. LT. Head to head they are very close but Shawn has the edge. He is leading with 214 more yards this year and right at 250 more in his career with 5 more touches than LT. He has more 20+, TD, FD and longer runs and believe it or not has a higher average per catch, even though LT is thrown the ball so much more (what other weapons has SD had). So overall, right now, Alexander is the man.
by dukesucks
Fri Dec 09 2005No question. LT is the best back in the NFL today. And he's the best back ever since Barry Sanders retired in 1999. He shook Ty Law in the Jets game.
by historyfan
Mon Dec 05 2005One of my favorite football players today. LT took a crappy NFL franchise and made it somewhat respectable (and made the once dominant Raiders look pathetic). I'm proud to have this guy on my hometown's team. Here in San Diego, he's a household name. His first name is funny but he's extremely dangerous on the field.
by numbah16tdhaha
Mon Dec 05 2005Well, I put him on my fantasy football team and he has been my most productive player.
by zuchinibut
Tue Nov 29 2005Tomlinson's runs are probably the most exciting seen since Barry Sanders retired. He is the best back in football right now, who can block, catch, and run both hard and with finesse. If he stays healthy, he should be one of the all time greats by the time he is done.
by outsideblitz
Mon Nov 28 2005He has really made the 2005 season his explosive. At the end of his career, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes down as the greatest running back in NFL history.
by blitz52
Tue Oct 18 2005hes good but he aint as good as jim brown, O J simpson walter payton or barry sanders.greatest RB of all time(f@#k off)
by number1nflfan
Tue Oct 11 2005Ladanian will turn out to be the best running back of all time so far hes rushed for at least 1 touchdown in 17 straight games 1 more game and he ties the record and i dont think he has rushed under 1,300 yards yet
by lanceroxas
Mon Oct 10 2005LaDainian is simply the best offensive player in the NFL right now. He averages nearly 1500 yards rushing per season and almost 4.5 per rush while averaging close to 70 receptions per season and 7 per catch. He's fast. He's elusive. He's very powerful for a guy of his size and extremely consistent averaging close to 450 touches from srimmage each of his firt four seasons. He's also a fantasy GOD racking up close to 20 touchdowns per season as well.
by canadasucks
Wed Sep 28 2005If he played in New York you'd hear about him everyday.

Wed Sep 28 2005L.T is the RB in the NFL and always will be the best peroid
by jnnysdbolts
Thu Jul 28 2005obviously he is the greatest rb in the league, he was injured last year and still was #1 in probowl selection, yea go LT!
by davis21wylie
Thu Jul 21 2005Tomlinson is a fantasy stud, that's for sure. While he slipped a bit in 2004, the year before he was top-5 in the NFL in rushing, plus he led the league in receptions! Now, stepping back to objectivity: Many of those catches were short dump-offs from Drew Brees (pre-rejuvenation version) because San Diego had no legit recievers. Still, he's quick, agile, has good vision, and is one of the best backs around. If drafting for real-life, I would take a healthy Priest Holmes, Curtis Martin, Corey Dillon, Shaun Alexander, Edgerrin James, maybe even Tiki Barber or Rudi Johnson before him, because they're all more consistent rushers. Fantasy-wise, though, how can you beat the guy?

Mon Apr 25 2005Nothing that amazing

Wed Mar 30 2005amazing. whoever didn't give him 5 stars is stupid. hes the greatest running back in the league hands down. u people r prolly on portis, holmes, and alexanders jock.
by football_genius
Fri Jan 14 2005ladainian tomlinson is a fantasy football players dream. for the moderator who seems to be throwing irrelevant stats into the mix to justify his moronic response; i say this. put priest holmes, clinton portis, ahman don't fumble it Green into the san diego offensive line.... and guess what would happen. priest holmes would probably get injured and not score half as many touchdowns as he usually does. clinton portis will relaize that he needs a broncos o-line to make him at least a 1500 yard rusher.... o thats right.... how did he do on the redskins this year... 5 touchdowns,LMAO LOL!!! ahman would fumble it more than he has with green bay. The only guy who can handle the sophmoric o-line LT has is Ricky Williams, and unfortunately, he's out smoking a tree and growing a beard somewhere in austrailia. To say that tomlinson can blow out a knee and fall from production is also a weak argument. are you stupid??? that case can be made for anyone, and if i had to pick one player who ca... Read more

Thu Jan 13 2005I'm sorry, but even if he is a great player, his name just sucks.
by buckeyerob
Tue Nov 02 2004L.T. can run, catch, and even throw if you want him to. 1600 yards and 100 catches in one season.'Nuff said. And an unselfish, unassuming, complete team player. Ask him if it sucks to be on the Chargers.
by clarkone68
Tue Sep 14 2004Sucks to be on the Chargers.......
by footballhead99
Thu Aug 12 2004This guy is unbelievable. The best running back in the league no question. It's a shame that he's on such a horrible team though...it's just like what happened with Barry Sanders- best rb in the leauge on a horrible team with a mediocre at best O-line.
by stangg
Wed Aug 11 2004He had absolutely no O-Line and and ran 5.3 yards a carry last season. THat is friggen incredible. You are looking at may be the second coming of Barry Sanders here. Whenever defenses play the Chargers they know all they have to do is stop Tomlinson and still many teams can't do it. Tomlinson can catch, run, block, and is a complete back. Guy had 100 receptions last season, which is considered a superb season by WR standards, nevermind a RB. He is a Fantasy Football Players dream come true. He is the Chargers
by eeks2284
Sat Jul 10 2004Wait until the chargers o-line comes together and see what this amazing talent can do... he is the definition of a game-breaker.. give LT a good defense and he will take the team on his back
by louiethe20th
Thu Jun 10 2004Just awesome as a runner and equally deadly out of the backfield as a receiver. Youth is also on his side.
by califcarlson
Thu Apr 22 2004The best running back in the NFL will be one of the greatest of all time. To show his accomplishments just look at this. 1600 yard (more than pro-bowler Clinton Portis) and 100 receptions (more than pro-bowler marvin harrison).Hmm, if he was anywhere other than San Diego he would have been the starting pro-bowler simply because he didn't have enough publicity.

Fri Aug 15 2003LADAINIAN TOMLINSON IS THE BEST YOUNG FOOTBALL PLAYER IN THE NFL. NOT ONLY HAS HE RUSHED FOR 2,919 YARDS BUT CAUGHT FOR NEARLY 1,000 YARDS HIS FIRST 2 YEARS AND HAS NEVER MISSED A GAME WITH A WEAK OFFENSIVE LINE AND NO PASSING GAME. DEFENSES WERE STUFFING 9 IN THE BOX TO STOP LT, AND F*CK ERIC DICKERSON TOMLINSON WASN'T EVEN IN HIS TOP 5 RUNNING BACKS. NOW WITH DAVID BOSTON LT WILL RUSH FOR 2,000 YARDS AND WILL BREAK THE SINGLE GAME RECORD OVER THE F*CKIN SORRY AS* GET HUMILIATED IN THE SUPER BOWL OLD RAIDERS (SUPER BOWL XXXVIII SAN DIEGO CHARGERS 34 ATLANTA FALCONS 20) MVP LADAINIAN TOMLINSON
by fa_toss
Fri Aug 15 2003Ladainian Tomlinson is the real deal.LT has had no serious inury yet and will break emmitts rushing record unless he does get seriuosly hurt.It ain't all about stats either, look att his best games of the year and look at the teams they played.220 agianst denver (#1 against run) they win in overtime.217 agianst the defending champs (they won).153 against the raiders (#3 defense in NFL last season) won again in overtime. The most impressing thing to me is how strong he finishes these games, against denver he had 57 in overtime alone, still running over men down field.Against Oakland the 19 yard run that won it in overtime splitting a linebacker and a safty for the win.How many times did the #1 rusher (Ricky Williams) lead his team past opponents in overtime after 35 carries.Wait I forgot he plays for the chargers. But wait didnt they pick up all pro reciever David Boston and all pro fullback Lorenzo Neal.Last six years Neals running back who he blocked for has rushed for a thousand yards.... Wed Jun 18 2003I'm giving him 5 stars not only because he is a great player, but more importantly what he does for the community and the kids.
by 2fast2furious
Wed Jun 18 2003I've watched him play on TV, seen him play live at the Pro Bowl, and recently went to the Chargers' Minicamp. This guy is incredible!!! He is also a great person, which is evident in his various charity organizations, as well as what he continues to do for the children. Definitely a great player on the field and equally that off the field.
by hrd2h8
Wed Jun 18 2003One of the best all-around RBs in the NFL. Will eventually be known as one of the best players ever to play the game. Great person with a huge heart. God Bless LT21!!!

Tue Jun 17 2003Best running back in the league! Should've won Rookie of the Year. but will collect a few MVPs and rushing titles to make up for it.
