I loved the mexican food there. First of all, they give you some chips and salsa before your main dish. This salsa is the best salsa I have ever tasted. Secondly, the soup is really good. Lastly, there is a lot of varieties of tortillas, burritoes, soup. It is very good and is still really good even if you make it on the go.

We tried to have dinner here last night....terrible experience. We asked for a table for 5, and were told that the wait was to be 10-15 minutes, as there were kind of busy, we stood right outside, waiting, and noticed that the hostess came out side calling other guests to their table. About 10 minutes later, I walked in and asked how much longer, the hostess gave me a weird look, and I saw that our name had been crossed off the list, and then replaced, she said well I called your name, I said, we've been waiting right outside, you never came out to call us. She said sorry and that she would seat us right away....She came out and asked if we wanted a booth with a chair on the end, I said no, that we would rather have a larger booth, or a table. She said that we would have to wait...we waited, she sat a party of 6, then a party of 7 that both arrived after us....I was getting rather iritated, and was told by another server that the hostess said that we had been called, but ignored he... I don't get it. I live down the block from this place and the wait is always out the door every night. I've tried their food a few times and it is always disappointing. I've tried several different dishes and it's all so flavorless! Their chicken tastes like it has absolutely no spice of any kind on it and their refried beans, a true test of any Mexican restaurant's real value, taste lke nothing. Their wait staff is mostly Hispanic and one waitress in a round-about, subtle way agreed that thier food was not too good. So I can't figure out why they are so popular, especially when I see so many Mexican's waiting outside for a table. My Mexican girlfriend always asks me "Don't they know better?"

This is the WORST mexican food restaurant I have every tried. I am Mexican and am always interested to find a place just like my abuelitas and innocently happened across La Capilla to give it a try. The food is so bland that I actually had to resort to putting salt and pepper on my refried beans. The food is HORRIBLE. If you have any semblence of what REAL Mexican food should be like, STAY AWAY. If you enjoy Del Taco and think Taco Bell is good Mexican food, then by all means, ENJOY!!!!!!

This is the best Mexican in Southern California, by far!!! I fly back home just to get it. I've moved all over the west coast and I still think this is the best Mexican place. The arroz con pollo is awesome! And the tortilla soup is the best! I can't say enough about this place! The wait can be sorta long, but totally worth it! Please try this place, you wont regard it!

I love my Mexican restaurants and this is the best I have yet to find in the LA area. The sauces are great (try the Ranchera) and the portions are very generous. Of course, the homemade salsa is not too shabby, either. Even more importantly, the prices are very reasonable. Highest recommendation.
