Amazing to think it's all improvisation. Whenever I try to emulate Jarrett's playing on this it sounds too much like John Tesh. But Keith keeps a real, meditative cool on here. Hands down one of the greatest works of music ever. No need for titles for the songs, they're just different ideas that flow one into the next. Beautiful stuff.

Lovely music, technical virtuosity, in the European classical tradition. The point is this, it just does'nt swing! Coopoy says - without the swing it just is'nt jazz.

A superlative album, which confirmed Keith Jarrett's entry into superstardom. An amazing album, considering he was ill from chronic back pains and lack of food. The piano was sub-standard but Keith agreed to continue, despite being restricted to the middle register only. An awesome work.
