Very hard to watch if you are an adult. My son loved it when he was about 10 years old and that may have been the audience the show was after. The car was the show. David Hasselhoff was just an accessory.

David Hasselhoff just bugs me ever since he did America's Got Talent. This show was OK, just that cheesy 70-80's sci fi like show but fun to watch on occasion, and William J. Daniels, what a smartass.

From the moment I saw it Knight rider was my favorite show. This show should be a classic. There is no sex that little kids should not see and there is hardly any bad words that are hard to listen to. It is just action and KITT's famous turbo boost. Parents that don't want to be stuck watching kids shows or boring family shows for their childeren should see Knight rider it is something kids and parents can watch together(Warning: kids may want the parents to jump the minivan into the air after seeing KITT do a turbo boost!). And I also advise that people see Knight rider 2000 the TV movie(put the little kids to bed when you watch this because it is to risky for the little ones to watch it's better for older kids or teens to watch Knight rider 2000 TV movie but the Knight rider original show is fine for the whole family). Yes you and the family may enjoy Knight Rider which is a classic in my heart.

If it weren't for his car, the show would have never made it.

Definately tacky by today's standards, but in the early 80s it was very entertaining. Back then, it didn't really matter that you could see a pair of arms underneath the cloth of the driver's seat controlling the steering wheel in scenes where KITT moves by himself. Or how KITT would constantly ask, what is it, Michael? despite the fact that he was a computer (and Michael was just some guy with an 80s Chia Pet haircut). And what about the times that KITT exclaimed, Michael, I'm worried! How the hell does a computer worry? In any event, as a kid growing up in the 80s, you just didn't give a damn about the flaws because, come on, the car TALKED, for God's sake.

The car is awesome but I can only give a four due to the folly of Hasselhoff.

Entertaining and thrilling at times, but it's usually never good if a car outshines the rest of the cast, and it did so here.

An ok show...but why did'nt get to see more of that babe Technician that took care of Kit when he needed fixing? I remember two different actors playing this role, does anyone remember their names? (especially the one with brown hair and brown eyes?).

Look, this show was about a TALKING CAR who SOLVES CRIMES. You just don't get any better than that for unintentional comedy value.

The best thing about this show was the car. Kit was the star! Had they taken away the car, the show was nothing to me. I remember wishing that my car could talk, but then again, at the time I drove a 1968 Pontiac Catalina that probably didn not have many nice things to say.

David Hasselhoff was O.K., but it was William Daniels' voice that made KITT the star of the show.

It was a Friday night teenage ritual watching this show during the early to mid 80s. That two part episode when KITT was battling his evil nemesis KARR was really cool.

The only two redeeming things of this programme is the theme music - come on, you know it and you can do the twanging guitar sound...... And Kit, lets face it, the car had far more personality, panache and attitude than Michael Knightrider ever did (but it was David Hasselhoff who was just eye candy) I couldn't watch this show now, even if you paid me.

It had its good shows, but it is pretty sad when the best actor on a show is a piece of metal.

More than just a show about a car that could talk, Knight Rider holds deeper cosmic meaning in that it served as the launching pad for one of pop culture's biggest stars, David Hasselhoff. Just as Bosom Buddies incubated Tom Hanks' career leading to such masterpieces as "Philadelphia," "Forrest Gump," and "Castaway,", Knight Rider set the stage for Bay Watch, Bay Watch Hawaii, and Hasselhoff's marvellous European singing career.

The adjective "classic" is diminished by including Knight Rider on a classic TV shows list. Only in the sense that Deep Purple was a "classic rock" band, can Knight Rider be called classic TV!
