Sat Oct 23 2010Kaplan needs to run background checks. Warning: This specific test prep center employs a man named Richard James Alexander Hillary, born 7/7/73. Hillary is being investigated for downloading child porn involving 12-16 year olds and for participation in an underage porn file sharing ring. See wp-board dot com for more info, including a copy of his request to settle the ongoing suit that was refused. 1-877-686-5393 is the plaintiff's (James Grady) business number & he can certainly verify. Hillary frequently hires prostitutes in the Austin area & writes graphic online reviews about the sex services he paid for. For this, he has many handles including charliedodgson, the primary handle he used to download the aforementioned dirty pictures of underage kids (along with loving_the_deformed). His hooker & porn reviews are presently online, revealed by a quick Internet search. Hillary has a criminal record and it's all public information, confirmed with a criminal background check. He h... Tue Jan 19 2010Why do people pay so much to be guided through test that you can so easily study for yourself? I used to work at Kaplan, and I can tell you that the only real way to study is to get yourself some test booklets and do sample tests; review your own answers, figure out why you were wrong, and keep going. Work on your timing. Nothing else can really be taught: stop enriching these leeches at Kaplan who tell you that you need help: you don't. Former teacher

Thu Feb 19 2009Wow, the new location is awesome! I love the computer lab and location that is close to UT. The people are very friendly and my score has already gone up 20 points on my LSAT! I'd tell anyone to go here for help. My teacher is great!

Sun Aug 17 2008After taking Kaplan courses and being an employee at the Austin Kaplan center, I can tell you it was a HUGE mistake!!! I would never wish this upon anyone. The course instructors and content may be decent. BUT, the Management (megan) and the company as a whole will do anything they can to take your money. They are bad people that ABSOLUTELY DO NOT have the students best interest in mind. They make false claims about their courses and their costs to get you to enroll, tell you that they will give you your money back - but then will not practice what they preach. The customer service is very poor. If you need test prep - I would recommend Princeton Review or preping on your own WAY before I would take a Kaplan Course.

Sun Apr 15 2007I was probably one of the most unfortunate customer there. I registered for the private tutoring and a in class course which was over $2,000.00. The three tutors that they assigned to me either came late and left early or wanted to tutor me via email because they lived far from Austin. When I called the manager to set me up with another tutor, I had to call her three times for her to call me back. I was unhappy and it was close to my exam date so I asked them if they can reimburse me for the unused private tutor hours and they transferred me to a few people and one person called me back after a few weeks. She promised to help me with the partial refund and little that I know a few weeks later, she moved to Houston. When I called the center about it, they had the girl who moved to Houston call me back and said I was going to receive the fund. I addressed the concern that I do not know which credit card I used to pay for it and it was my dad's since I couldn't afford the $2,000.00... Read more

Tue Jan 07 2003Kaplan is a great organization! The staff was very informative and helpful. The classes were priced very reasonably and the resources for the classes were great. The teachers really knew what they were teaching and seemed really excited to be teaching it to you. Everyone really knew their stuff and wanted you to succeed. I would recommend a Kaplan course to anyone.
