ED BEENE/Just Pets, I'm a blast from your past!!!! My wife and I sued you for selling us an English Bulldog puppy a few years ago. We were awarded a judgement aganist you of over $4734.75!!! You filed for Bankruptcy. I see that you are still selling very sick puppies!!! Okay to the good people of the Great State of Arizona please check with the BBB, this guy tried to hide behind a Corp. the Corp had expired long before we sued him, and it was from Georgia. We were on a road trip when we stopped in Arizona on 08-24-04 and purchased a puppy with warranty for my birthday. Had him vet checked in accorance with the policy Mr. Beene provided us at the time of purchase. Our beloved puppy Doobie died 21 days after we got him home. We purchased two beautiful puppies from this store. While the staff seemed really friendly, helpful, and animal oriented, we soon discovered...

First, I bought a Yorkie in June 2007 and the lady who sold the dog was wonderful. She stated the dog has a minor cold, which is just fine. She said their vets come in often to check on the dogs health. I was pleased with their service. The next day I went to the vet to get her shots and a full check up. My Yorkie actually had pneumonia and worms. I was upset about that issue. I paid for all the doctor bills and everything, which is fine because she is my responsibility. She was also under the 1year insurance from the company who covers $1000.00 for the first year. That was a great offer too. The time comes to send all the reciepts to the insurance company to get all my money back from the health issue my dog was going through(she is now perfectly healthy). 2 months go by after I send the documents in and I call in to get an update. My sister has purchased two wonderful puppies from Just Pets, however she did have some very bad experiences with the second dog she purchased and was SLIGHTLY compensated for the vet bills that incurred after the initial purchase. The first dog she purchased is a wire fox terrier, who aside from having an improperly docked tail for the breeds standards, is a healthy happy dog. The second dog, a Brussels Griffon was bought with many health problems that she had PRIOR to her purchase. The day my sister purchased the dog, she noticed some swelling around the dogs belly button. The employee told her that it was simply an "outie" belly button. Now, I admit that's pretty naive of my sister to believe that at the time, but an immediate visit to the vet the next day proved it to be an infection/abscess that needed to be surgically removed. What Sherree fails to acknowledge (if we were such a bad store we would not be able to pinpoint the problem customer) is one, she purchased her puppy from our store while it was under previous ownership back in June. Her issues with the old owner have absolutely nothing to do with us. Secondly, all the agencies that she reported us to have dropped her claim because she ABANDONED THE DOG AT THE PETSTORE WITH OUT GOOD REASON. Arizona Law requires that customers provide documentation to show that puppies are ill-which would be a letter from a licensed veterinarian. Instead, Sherree had a case of buyer's remorse, made up an illness and disposed of the puppy. Then, when she could not get a refund she got mad. She was given plenty of opportunities to pick up her perfectly healthy puppy-it was checked by several veterinarians and nothing was found wrong with the puppy. Buyer beware ?Just Pets? will sells you a sick puppy. I have filed a several complaints one with agencies, which they failed to respond to and are not classed as a company ?Not in Good? Standing. I have also filed with the the Attoney General to look into the selling practices of this company. Just Pets refuses to respond to inquires about why after returning a sick dog have failed to return my money, or provide me with another puppy and as subsequently sold this dog to someone else?.

If you are looking for a puppy who is a pure breed pup you must go to Just Pets in Scottsdale. Not only do they have a wide variety of puppies, but they have reptiles, hamsters and birds. I was in, curious about a chihuahua. A young lady set me up in a viewing room and let me have as much time as I needed to play with the pup. They anwsered every question I had, about the puppy and dogs in general. Then I saw another pup that caught my eye and she gave me time with that puppy as well. i will be back to this store soon to buy the next love of my life!

This pet shop should be investigated for selling sick puppies. I went in on a Friday purchased a puppy, on Saturday had to rush the puppy to the vet where is was diagnosed with Bi-lateral pnemonia. The vet indicated that the puppy had been sick for quite some time and I would need to spend an additional 700.00 to nurse the puppy back to health. I returned the puppy on Tuesday of the next week and have been fighting to get my money back along with the 275.00 I had to put out in vet fees on that Saturday. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy anything from this Pet shop. There is no customer service.....

First, of all whoever wrote this review is out of their mind. I went in to Just Pets during the same week and purchased a Yorkie puppy from this store. The customer service there is unbelieveable. Everyone is so nice and has a lot of information about not only the breeds they carry, but the puppies they have in the store. All of the puppies were very friendly and got along not only with each other but with people they came in contact with. And as far as airconditioning there was no problem at all. They keep the lights off in the kennels, not the store, so the puppies do not get overheated. Whoever wrote this was attacking everything in the store, obviously a bitter customer or a jealous competitior. When I bought my puppy they spent extra time with me showing me how to crate train and feed my dog. This place was just scary. It was really hot inside and I was informed the air conditioning was temporarily broken. In order to try to cool it down they turned off all the lights to the puppy cages. All the puppies were panting and not playing at all. Some were kept in plastic swimming pools and one puppy seemed to be stuck between the pool and the cage around it. I told an employee about it and she said "Oh, that's because he doesn't get along with one of the other dogs in there". That's just sad. One of the employees was trying to sell puppies while holding her baby. Weird. Most of the puppies were much older than the normal 9 or 10 weeks and most were uncommon mixes I had neve heard of. The store smelled horrible and it was filthy. Oh, they were also selling turtles about the size of a quarter, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. Not to mention there were like 15 turtles in a tiny fishtank. I would never visit this store again.
