Actually you are encouraged to eat more when you are trying to diet, just watch what you eat. You should actually eat about 5 times a day to keep your metabolism going.

By itself it might not work. You also need to increase your activities by walking, biking or any other activity. Even small things like parking further away from a store entrance helps.

Maybe, in some ways. You dont have to eat less if your already healthy. But, when you are eating McD's. every 5 hours, ya. You should have breakfeast, lunch, snack and dinner and maybe a small dessert. But it will only most likley work if its healthy.

What a foreign concept for fat people who sulk everywhere! "What?!? Eat 8 cheeseburgers a day instead of my usual 10?!? Eventually bring that number down to 3?!? You're joking, right?!?" ::: 5 minutes later ::: *cries* "I'm so fat and I can't do anything about it!" Come on, dude. Cut those calories down.

The real secret to loosing weight is to consume less food, wherein are hidden calories, and calories lead to fat and fat leads to no date on Saturday night. I like to exercise by rolling myself around on the floor while I listen to audio books. I also jump on beds and try to get exercise in by eating things that are very heavy such a whole tray of lasagna. Have you ever tried to eat a whole tray of lasagna while holding it up and jumping up and down on a bed at the same time? The suggestions are endless but remember the cliche: less is more. So eat less to be more. More what? I can't tell you everything. I have to go and eat my lasagna.

may help somewhat. not always the whole answer. people's metabolism does change in their lives. what if you don't stuff your face in the first place?

Everything in moderation, plus an active lifestyle, should keep things on an even keel.

Eating less will help,of course, but you also need to increase your activity in most cases. If you eat TOO little, your body will also catabolize it's own muscle tissue for protein and actually conserve the fat.If you are serious about weight loss,I'd recommend picking up a good book on nutrition instead of some fad "diet" book and finding some kind of physical activity you enjoy enough to keep doing over the years.

"Eat less" is of course what you have to do to lose weight. Unfortunately it's not "just" eat less and this advice is always given by people who never had a weight problem themselves. If you struggle with a weight problem you know it's not easy and having people tell you that you just have to keep your mouth shut is not helping at all. "Be careful what you eat" would be a better advice. http://www.healthy-weight-loss-made-easy.com/

For the most part, this is good advice provided that you don't take it too far. Taking in less calories is always a good way to keep from gaining weight as long as you keep your body from going into starvation mode. If you cut back too far, your body will overcompensate by attempting to store what few calories you give it as fat.

Reducing caloric intake is the best way to lose weight. 2,000 calories generally suffices, balanced out over three meals a day with 1 snack in between. Doing that will keep the hunger pangs away, which is why people usually "fall off the wagon" during diets. Combine it with exercise and you'll lose weight even faster. Don't go on a crash diet. That will almost guarantee that you'll regain the weight when you get off the diet. Ease into it slowly and you'll have no problem.

Though eating less may work in the short term your body will acclimate itself fairly quickly. It will become used to running on less and if you go too far and eat less than u should your body will go into starvation mode and actually store fat for later. Also, everyone is different and many people have problems just trying to "eat less". Each person needs to find what works best for them. Some people need to exercise more. Here is a place with some great ab exercises: http://losebellyfat.blogetery.com/ Some need more work on finding the best dieting program. Here is a great place for some ideas: http://bestwaytoloseabdominalfat.blogspot.com/ The best advice is always to search until you find what works best for you. Of course look for what gives you the best results, but don't forget to take into account what program or exercises you will stick with to make it count. Good Luck!

A friend of mine's grandmother gives this good advice on keeping trim: "keep moving and keep your mouth shut" She's 90 and remains energetic and maintains a trim shape.

Just try it. When you feel like you're sorta full, maybe, try to just leave the unfinished portion there (or feed it to your boyfriend). I hate to not clean up my plate, but within 10 mins, really, you'll feel 30% fuller and you'll be glad you didn't finish it.

I think that eating less is great but some people struggle with eating and always feel hungry. I found that this is the case for myself. Even when I just get done eating Im hungry. So I decided to try Acompliex by http://www.SlimEffects.com  and so far I LOVE IT. I have lost 27 lbs in three months and I no longer feel like I am always hungry.

Good idea...and a good guideline would be the diabetic diet.  This is the well balanced diet that Weight Watchers and many other weight loss gurus (Richard Simmons, etc.) base their's on. And guess what; it's free for the asking (or searching).

I am thoroughly sick and tired of people complaining that they can't lose weight, meanwhile shoveling food into their pie hole like it will be made illegal tomorrow. Put the fork down occasionally folks.

People talk about less carbs, sugar, etc. but you don't have to watch those things closely if you will do one thing-EAT LESS. You are naturally going to lose some carbs and things if you are taking in less food. For me, I started doing things like carrying a water bottle with me all the time. If you sip water all day you tend to stay full. Also, do little things like go with salad dressing instead of mayo, etc. Find ways to cut calories, don't skip meals but avoid snacks. If you are a sweet eater, agree to only have sweets once a week. It will feel like more of a treat. By doing simple things, you won't notice it after a while and it will be weight you can keep off because it won't require a major lifestyle change.

This is a great way to lose weight, but it's important not to starve yourself. Just eat better.

This will definitely do the trick. Unfortunately, I need a little more motivation to eat less than just losing weight. The summer that I lived in Washington, D.C., I ate less because the price of food out there was ridiculous, and sure enough, I lost weight without ever intending to.

Better still, eat until you feel satisfied, even if there is more food on the plate. When your body tells you that you are satisfied and you keep eating to empty the plate, all the excess is deposited as fat.

Often you need to change what it is that you are eating, or else eating less will not satisfy you for long, and you will slide back to where you were.

Eat less and exercise more. You must eat a healthy breakfast with some protein. This gets your metabolism going and helps you burn more fat during the day.

Worked perfectly for me... I didn't necessarily eat less, I just ate far less frequently. I wouldn't advocate skipping meals regularly as I did/do, but if you're that desperate to lose weight...

Good point...You can still enjoy certain types of food and help yourself out by controlling your portions. Easier said than done sometimes.
