Thu Aug 18 2005As you enter Jungle Jims and, provided youre old enough to remember, you will think youre going into one of those mom and pop type attractions that once flourished in pre-Disney World Florida. All kinds of crazy décor, music and jungle sounds provide a kind of campy nostalgic feeling. Once you enter you soon realize you are in for a really unique shopping experience because this is truly way beyond a mere grocery store. First of all it is mega warehouse huge and seems to get bigger each time I return. Along with a top notch deli that seems to stretch for miles, an unbelievable foreign and domestic wine selection, and top notch meat, cheese and produce they have an international section which boasts a little of everything from just about every corner of the planet. On top of that, it is very well organized and easy to get around. I felt like Id been going all my life after my first trip. If you are ever in Cincinnati (suburban west section I believe) you really need to check this pl... Read more

Thu Aug 18 2005I've had many trips to this same grocery store in Fairfield, Ohio that Castlebee just reviewed. It's a supremely unique experience. Aside from the lush jungle and safari theme that greets you, the store also boasts an animatronic Elvis (think Chuck E. Cheese performances) and other eclectic decorations. The real draw, however, is an astounding supply of specialty food items that you just can't get anywhere in the city. A huge section of the store devotes its aisles to representing many countries across the globe. If you are homesick for any major European or Asian country, you at least have a source for that country's most popular foods. The wine section is similarly deep with hard-to-find wines. Many restauranteurs shop at Jungle Jim's for their varied specialty produce as well. Some drive great distances for the Jungle Jim's experience.
