Should never have been fired...terrible managment decision. "What have you done for me lately" nature of the business. He'll land a better job somewhere down the road...

He has had up and down seasons, since the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl the first year Gruden was coach.

Jon Gruden probably one of the better coaches, no he may not have a 10-0, 9-1 record. But i think he's the best thing thats ever happened to the Buccaneers. And shows alot of emotion for offence and Defence!

I think Tampa Bay did a good thing last year getting cadilac and the coach knew how good he was as soon as he saw him and played him.

youngest coach ever to win a super bowl. the most prevalent coach in the media and respected for his dedication to the game of football. surrounds himself with people who believe in his system, which yields to positive results year in and year out. excellent knowledge of offensive play design, complex always-shifting formations and packages. respected and well liked by his players. known as a tough but fair coach who is capable of surprising his opponent.

Gruden is an overrated coach. Although he has been successful defensively with the superb players he has been given, he has shown almost zero talent for the offensive side of the ball. I would put him as my defensive coordinator any day, but I would never make him my coach.

Very strong coach in Oakland and Tampa, after his substantal success he is encountering an off year (so to speak) with the loss of defensive leadership in Sapp and Lynch!!!!!

Offensive play calling --- beyond excellent. Player management and ability to speak the truth about players--- beyond terrible.

Jon Gruden is one of the greatest head coached ever, and he's still only 38. He has turned many quarterbacks great. From Steve Young all the way to Brad Johnson. Good Luck next season

My oh, my, how 1 year changes everything. Callahan and Gruden were on top of the world just a short time ago. Looked lost at times last season, and has to prove that he can coach as a favorite instead of the underdog.

Look at the talent he had, both in Oakland and Tampa. He did a less than OK job this year with the Bucs. He needs to show a little consistency.

A 5 two years ago. Disappointed he couldn't control his players, last year. The jury is still out on him.

Won it all his first year in town: Gruden is outstanding and the Raiders sadly wish they could have him back (Al Davis would rather eat goat scat than admit it). The Bucs will settle down in '04 now that Gruden has made it clear he is in charge rather than the primadonnas. And Bruce Allen will help him soar again!

Jon Gruden is not only the youngest head coach ever in the NFL at 39 years, 8 months, and 9 days (as of today, april 26) but he is the best coach ever in the NFL...He led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their first ever Super Bowl Appearance (and victory, obviously) as his first year as a 'Buccaneer.' His team deserved that Lombardi trophy, as did he. If it were not for Jon Gruden, I am not sure if the Buccaneers could have made the excellent Super Bowl event this year. I know they would have made it VERY soon because i am the biggest buccaneer fan and have all the faith in the world in them, but i am positive his contributions to this already outstanding football team helped them win the Super Bowl...I am only a 14 year old girl, but i have attended Buccaneer games At Raymond James, and Houlihan's Stadium every season since 1995. The Buccaneers and Jon Gruden deserved that victory because of their blood sweat and more sweat! Jon Gruden deserves to also be the Sexiest man alive. The h... Read more

Jon Gruden came to Tampa Bay, and delivered the impossible: Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers. He has a tireless work ethic, and one of the first things he said when they won the SB was that "the offense shows room for improvement". How's that for a great coach? He can't even take five minutes to enjoy a Super Bowl victory without thinking about how he can improve the team! On top of superior coaching skills, he's got alot of personality as well. I hate to say it, but he really DOES look like Chucky when he makes one of those infamous facial expressions!

Can't argue with success. . .his teams are always well-prepared. Yes, he is obsessive. Yes, he is a control freak. What great coach isn't? Even when he was an assistant coach in Philadelphia, football people in-the-know knew that he was a special coach in the making. Gruden has one championship. . .if he wins another we will have to start ranking him among the great coaches.

Congratulations to Jon Gruden, winner of the 2003 Facial Olympics! This year was no contest, Gruden won by a large margin. There was a short while earlier in the season where Steve Spurrier looked like he had something going, though....

Jon Gruden is probably one of the greatest coaches of all time, when you look at all that he accomplished with the Raiders, then to go on to the Buccaneers and win the Super Bowl his first year on the job shows his incredible ability, not to mention that he is the youngest coach to ever win a Super Bowl. I believe that he will be studied for many years regarding his hard work ethic, leadership capabilities, and offensive genius. Truly a coach of the ages.

Gruden took the Bucs where Dungy couldn't. But I can't help think about the egg he laid when the Ravens destroyed his Raiders two years ago. That team was unprepared.

gruden is a good coach I couldn't really appreciate until he left the raiders cause I'm a broncos fan...I seen what he did this year in tampa and it is unbeleivable.....I still think Mike Shanahan is the best coach in the NFL..He is the only active coach to win back to back superbowl titles..actually the only coach with two titles period..at the end superbowls is how you judge a coach.

Jon is a GREAT coach and he more than proved that a few weeks ago. He is a coaching genius. He should have won NFL Coach of the Year this season. He deserves to be the coach of this year's Super Bowl winning team. I have a feeling that this was just the first of many. He is an amazing man and may I say from a female perspective...quite WONDERFUL to look at!!! I Love football now.

As dominating a COACHING run as you will ever see. On his way to the super bowl, Grudent thrashed Mariucci at home, completely outlclassed Andy Reid in Philly, and then dominated Bill Callahan in the Super Bowl. The best young coach of this generation.

I vote for him as the sexiest man alive. I watched the entire superbowl in hopeful anticipation that they would show him, his beautiful face, soft blue sparkling eyes and soft lips that I hope he'll lick at any moment. And add to that his accomplishments! Gruden 2003 meets Gruden 2002 in the Superbowl...what else needs to be said?

How about 3 years? Gruden is indeed an offensive mastermind. We paid a small price for what we've gained. Here's to many many years of Chucky here in Tampa! <<HSVL10OM, on 10/26/99, said: I know John Gruden may not be a 5 in everybody else's rating, but I believe he is offensively a geniouse, and will prove to be so. In about 5 years, check back with me and ask me how I knew?>>

Jon Gruden is the best coach in the NFL, no matter what anyone says. He may still be young and have some things to learn but nobody has done what he has done with his teams and he is only going to get better. To all of those who think he is terrible or has no talent need to lay off the pipe and actually watch the game or remember what coach brought the Bucs to win their first ever Super Bowl!

I think Jon Gruden is a great offensive coach. He has helped Brad Johnson become a decent QB over this past season...just think what next year will bring. On top of keeping the offense strong, he and his coaching staff have mananged to produce one heck of a defense!! Not only is he a great coach...he is also sexy as hell!!!

Jon Gruden is one the the best coaches in the NFL. Look at 3 of the 4 final playoff teams. If it weren't for Gruden, Oakland would not have Gannon - the NFL MVP. Gruden was also in Philly and was the first to bring McNabb to everyone's attention. Now, in Tampa he has improved their offense considerably while keeping the Defense the best in the NFL...

I think Jon Gruden is the best coach that the NFL has ever seen, he has a lot more years left in the NFL and look what he has done to both the Raiders and the Bucs, last season Oakland was an amazing team because of him and they are not the same team this year without him. Gruden has made a great team out of the Bucs and now they are very likely to make an impression in this year's playoffs. He is definitly one of the most talented coaches in the league right now and by far the sexiest!
