Johnny Cat does not stop the smell of urine. It also is dusty. If I could find Johnny Cat Complete, I would be willing to try it. I have two cats and after a day of use, the smell is so pronounced that I have to change it or else one of my cats will not use it. She will use the newspapers on the floor.'' Also, the last few bags that I purchased have split at the seams leaving litter all over my car. As my cats are older, I really do not want to change their litter. I have been using it for years. If you could give me a solution so that I don't have to change the boxes every other day, I would appreciate it. And, if you could seal the seams so that they do not come apart, I also would appreciate.

I took in a stray cat until I could find her a home so I bought Johnny Cat litter because the cost was low. After 3 days the litter box smells horribly and the litter does not clump. The urine just saturates near the bottom of the pan. The only way to get it out is to dump the whole box and start over. The addition of the little green/blue pellets don't do anything to reduce the odors. The clay granules are also a mess. They are dusty and messy. I did use 2 inches of litter in the pan, but it's wasted because there is no way to get out the "unclumped" urine without dumping out the whole pan. You get what you pay for I guess.

I have never seen a clumping cat litter that has more dust than this one. I bought this from a pet shop because I decided to try something cheaper, and perhaps just as good. One of my biggest concern for cat litter is dust. It's not healthy for cats to breath in all the dust particles and I care deeply for my beloved cats. Anyway, I chose Johnny Cat because it specially advertised on the bag that it was something like 90% dust free. Well, thinking if some company has the nerve to advertise that on the bag, it cannot possibly be untrue. Was I ever wrong. Not only I'm now concerned about my cats' health, I also started to worry for my own health when I refill the cat litter. But guess what, I may not have to do that anymore because apparently my cats have decided to not use the litter all together, they go on my carpets now. Way to go Johnny Cat.

Well, after spending $120 each month for two cats, for insurance, food, litter, advantage etc, we decided to cut costs and try Johnny cat litter. The dust from the litter is ungodly. Instead of pouring it out of the bag, I used a cup scooper to try to keep the dust down and it's still horrible. I have to change the box when my husband is not home because I think it may provoke an asthma attack. Some people said the litter clumps, well ours didn't. It was impossible to get the pee out of the box if it doesn't clump. The result is nasty piss smell stinking up the entire room, and this is even with baking soda added in. I've never had my house smell like cat pee, it's really disgusting and embarrassing and this is for under a week's worth of dirty litter, we have had litter sit longer than that with other brands and certainly not this stink!! I'll be going back to petsmart tomorrow to buy some scoopaway and donate the rest of this bag of litter to the shelter.

I prefer Sani-Cat. It really works well, and keeps the sand pretty dry. There is some dust, but most cat litters do have.

I like Johnny cat. Clumps well and controls odors fairly well. And no, it's not completely dust-free, but it's less dusty than others. Can't beat it for the price.

We have also used Johnny Cat for years. We are a busy, multi-cat household, so the automatic scooping boxes and us having time to scoop several times a day doesn't work for us. A giant box, 20lbs of Johnny Cat Litter and weekly changes, with everything dumped out and a new bag of litter does the job for us. (a well-paid teenage resident does the honors.) It does a decent job in keeping odors down. I've tried all the litters out there, and Johnny Cat is our favorite. (In the summer, we can even push it to two weeks, between changes, with the cats going outside half the time!)

Personally I think Johnny cat does not live up to what they say on the bag. It is by no means "dust free" as advertised by the manufacturer. It does not clump, nor does it deodorize like it should. All in all if I knew how to get in touch with the manufacturer I'd ask for my money back.

I have two cats and have been using Johnny Cat for 16 years. When I change the litter boxes I always add a box of baking soda to each box before adding the cat litter. This, along with the natural additives in Johnny Cat makes the litter last longer and odor free. Edward..

Johnny Cat is the best i've tried. It is economical in price and controls oders very well.
