John was a very powerful runner who had a way around the goal line. He was the type of runner that would just wear defenses down. As big and powerful as he was he was capable of breaking a long run from time to time as well. He is worthy of mention while discussing the greatest of all time. It should be noted however that he played behind one of the greatest offensive lines in NFL history. It’s ironic in my opinion that no Redskins offensive lineman of that era is in the Hall Of Fame.

Hate to bring up race,  but I'de say he was arguably one of the best white running backs to play. One of the last/best "Bruising" runners to play the game (the other being Earl Campbell).  Mostly relying on sheer power, and plowing straight up the middle to gain yards. Also fairly quick,  once he found a hole, alot of safeties had difficulties catching him (in his prime).

John is one of the most talented running backs of all time and his performance on and off the field supports that. Great person

Very powerful runner who could run through tackles like Michael Moore at a buffet.

A big, dumb, beer-drinkin' dumbass. Could get you some yards when you needed them though.
