I give him an Okay for being a war hero but since he lost to Obama he has been acting like an embittered old fool. He was real rude to Chuck Hagel at the Confirmation hearings and would not let him answer the questions. It was more like rants and interrogation than wanting to hear what Hagel had to say. Hagel was right on about not rushing into war and this was proven by Politicians who later admitted Viet Nam and endless tours in the Iraq War were mistakes, according to George W. Bush who now admits the Iraq was over inaccurate information. McCain originally thought the war in Iraq should go in indefinitely and Obama said no way, he would set a date to end it. This may also have hurt McCain chances at winning the election. Hagel is also a Veteran and was wounded in Viet Nam. He learned the devastation of war and that seems to be the reason why he will not be too in a hurry to get us into another unnecessary war. McCain may have thought he was looking strong against a weak Hagel... Read more

Age is an issue. Fatigue is another. In his center, McCain isn't a bad guy. But the party killed McCain in South Carolina dooming his 2000 presidential bid (I really believe we would've been better off without captain flight-suit). . . McCain also became (obviously) uncomfortable with the bizarre swing to the right during the 2008 campaign - clearly he wasn't comfortable listing to the hoots and catcalls from the audience that was clearly aware that the election was over the moment the grand bimbo was forced upon McCain to share the stage. I think the party never really gave McCain a chance in 2000 and 2008. . .his ship has sailed. It's a fascinating what-if for me. . .

John McCain has never really been a true republican any way. His 08 campaign was a joke. The "Maverick" needs to just stay out of the spotlight and just remain an elder statesman and stay where he's at. I'm sure he knows that.

Out of touch with reality. Also, he was well into his geezerhood back in 2008 so by next year he should have a nice crop of mold flourishing on his sagging bum.

While I consider some of the venom against him to be misplaced, I also think he's not going to even be mentioned as a possibility in 2012. UPDATE: He'll still do better than Harold Heard.

Personally, I think there should be an age limit for presidential candidates. Doesn't John McCain sort of remind you of Captain Christopher Pike in the Star Trek Pilot show? Minus the wheel chair and the blink once for yes and twice for no light...

Not the best choice for the Republican party. I did not vote for him in 2004, but had to vote for him for President in 2008. You know what...I do wish he was our President right now instead of Obama. I feel that McCain gave up in his campaign and selecting Sarah Palin as his Vice-President was a big mistake. McCain should have chosen a man. I do not believe he will run in 2011/2012 and yes it would be an age and health issue by then. I don't think the mind would be as sharp and quick in your late 70's. Sorry if that sounds terrible. I don't mean to hurt feelings or sound insulting. I support my Republicans.

Well, it certainly doesn't help McCain with all the incidents at Yanni's Wind Palace plus his underground German nightclub (The Bunker). Not too mention the fact that McCain's parasitic twin brother, Madros McCain doesn't look good....things just look bad for McCain. I mean really fucking bad. But on the upside, he still has those excellent 3D glasses.

If he had any self respect he would be ashamed but he is not. EDid I mention he also lost the election due to his poor campaign skills and misunderstanding of the American voters.

He is ok but just ok overall. He has some positives such as being strong on military (we could use some of that right now in Little Barry Obama's Admin) but his views on illegal immigration cost him the election.

McCain will do what is best for America, not what is best for democrats or republicans. Obama will bring the troops home? Good. But make sure they get trained to be used on our soil to combat here the enemies they do now there. Ooops, but, isn't it unconstitutional to use military force on American soil? Well, maybe we will turn every Armed Forces personnel into law enforcement. John McCain is indisputably the best choice for America, especially in view of the poor choice of the democrats whi failed to bring in a seasoned, veteran politician. Update:As I watch the development of the elections and the results coming in, I cannot but feel a deep shame for my fellow Christians who have voted for a candidate who has publicly expressed he supports abortion rights. It is definitely a sign of the end times where life is considered a commodity and a merchandise. I cannot imagine how a true Christian could live with his/her conscience knowing that the butchery of innocent, defenseless childre... Read more

Hope prevailed on November 4th.  I knew America wouldn't be stupid enough to elect another 'Bush', though I'm shocked that 40% voted for this man.  Shows what they know.  He really killed his campaign getting that Palin chick as his VP pick.  At least Obama picked Joe Biden, a man with 35 years of Senate experience.

I lost a lot of respect for John McCain during his presidential run. I once thought he was a man of integrity and substance, but as his campaign took on the same old republican fear mongering motif I lost confidence in him. Especially bothersome was the progressive weakening of his stance on torture, which once seemed to be the cornerstone of his character. While trying to court his hawkish base, he voted against a bill designed to curtail some of the most objectionable techniques used by the CIA to interrogate prisoners including waterboarding. He also came to believe that the Bush administration's warrantless wiretapping program was appropriate.

Mr. McCain is not exactly the choice I had in mind for the Republican ticket. I have been very underwhelmed by his campaign thus far and am frustrated by his unwillingness to go full-throttle on the attack. Fight fire with fire! Seriously, I'm having flashbacks to the Bob Dole campaign here! Yawn. Anyway, despite all of his shortcomings, Mr. McCain needs to win this election. Why? Because when I look across the table and see what the option is, I start to cringe. Carl Marx...I mean Barak Obama, has visions for an America that looks less like America and more like the police state in George Orwells heartwarming romance novel "1984". Read it. That's our future under men like Mr. Obama. Enjoy!

He keeps doing his job as my Senator, so I keep him in office. A shame he didn't run against Dubya this year. Update: can't bring myself to vote for him as President, all things considered. Not bad as my Senator, but not sold on putting him in the White House, especially considering the sum of the ticket. Only thing for me to decide now is who to write in, since Obama isn't getting my vote, either.

He was good, until he ran for President the second time. Now he's sold his soul to the Rush Limbaugh wing of his party, the one that keeps chanting "Drill Baby Drill." Also, choosing Sarah Palin wasn't necessarily the best choice, was it?

John McCain did not disclose his connections to a controversial group that was implicated in a secretive plot to supply arms to Nicaraguan militia groups during the Iran-Contra affair in the early 1980s. McCain did not list his service on the board of the U.S. Council for World Freedom on mandatory congressional disclosure forms asking about positions he held outside government. McCain's current strategy is to try to make people think Obama has bad character by red herring issues like Wm. Ayers, but it's clear that as more of the truth about McCain comes out, McCain is proving to be the one with badly stained character.  He was imprisoned in Vietnam, but that doesn't at all mean his character since then has been sterling nor that he should get a free pass, nor that he's the best qualified candidate for president. He was one of the Keating 5, charged with doing Charles Keating's bidding in the savings and loan scandals, although the affair was whitewashed. McCain has since admitted he ... Read more

Call me a cynic, but I believe that John McCain is ducking out of tomorrow's debate because of purely political reasons at a time when he should be standing up and showing some leadership.  He said that he has suspended his campaign so that he can focus on the economic crisis, but he is not on any of the key economic committees and hasn't cast a vote on anything since last April.  And he obviously was in no rush to get back to Washington, instead he had a photo op with former President Clinton today.  He appears to just be grandstanding so that he won't have to debate Obama at a time when the Republicans look very bad.  I know he's a war hero, but right now he looks more like a drama queen playing politics.

More than half of Karl Rove's staff already works for McCain. The republican cronies Bush has in place now will all also get jobs if McCain gets elected. It is Bush term #3 waiting to happen - no health-care reform, no broad energy plan, international laughter at backwards America,  loss of civil liberties under threats that we should fear terrorists and conform to the right. Is 12 years of this republican government really what we need? No, not only is it not what we need, if McCain gets elected we will see the worst economy since the great depression.

I like McCain alright.  He seems to be a genuine young man (what!  he's younger than Yoda by a couple days!)  He has plenty of experience and honestly I don't think if he's elected that it's just going to be another four years of George the retard Bush philosophy.  I don't know, it's just something about him that I like.  However, with that said, I'm still not going to vote this for two reasons:  1)Regardless of who's elected, it really comes down to what congress wants to do.  They can just veto everything McCain wants to do.  2)I don't know how much more time McCain has on this earth.  He'll be in office for like six months, then die of a heart attack, so that inexperienced bitch Sarah Palin can take over!  I don't think so!
