I love all of these smart people, who expect fine seafood in places like Branson, and Pittsburg, and Houston, places NOWHERE near the source. For gods sake people it has "Shack" in the title. You want fine seafood, there are plenty of places in/on the Pacific north west, atlantic coast, and gulf coast. #1 TO ALL THE KNUCKLEHEADS who complain about size to price ration... You pay for 18-22oz of King Crab. Don't like that, go somewhere else, or be a grown up and ask questions before you order. (And if youre sharing a bucket of crab, ONE BUCKET mind you not their pot for 2, dont expect the waitress to fawn over your tightwad person. I wouldnt. You order a $28.00 bucket of crab for 2 people and 1 coke and one water with lemon and sugar, totalling about $35.00 after tax. Now how much attention do you deserve at that moment? That servers tip will be under $5 (if you tip the standard 15%), and lets be honest, ordering 1 bucket for two peole, i can probably see you as 10% percenter... Read more

After reading many many reviews I decided to write one of my own as well. Joe's Crab Shack San Antonio at the Quarry. Quite possibly the worst food on the planet. Apparently all waitstaff & cooks learn from a book on how to "totally annoy their customers and not give them quality food and service at any time. Over charge for food that isn't fit for a cat. Food was cold, over cooked, steamed & portions were scant at best. No silverware or few pieces were thrown into a bucket on the table. Incredibly uncomfortable seating. Potatoes were cold and tasteless! Cole slaw was the worst I've ever tried to eat! Served in a 2 oz paper cup thankfully! Corn was tasteless like "field corn... Read more

This was the WORST meal I've ever had. The mozzarella sticks tasted freezer burnt and the chicken sandwich was flavorless. The cheesy potatoes are soaking in a flavorless cheese sauce. It was incredibly overpriced. Totally not worth the trip. I'll never eat there again!

We went to the Joe's in Greenvile, SC. We ordered the Steam Pot and it was absolutly terrible. They cooked the crab so long that all that was in the claws was water. I dont think I will be going back to Joe's again. Hopefully someone will teah those guys how to cook.

This was our first visit to Joe's Crab Shack at Station Square in Pittsburgh. A co-worker recommended Joe's to me after I had bragged on a unforgettably excellent seafood dining experience in Boston at Legal Seafoods. We were seated immediately and served our drinks while looking over the menu. The staff were courteous although our waitress could have been more attentive, even in a restaurant with such a casual atmosphere. The music thankfully was not too loud, which helped keep the overall noise level down to where a normal conversation could be had. As others have also experienced at other locations, all of our food was barely warm and the centers of the potatoes were positively cold. For $28.99 the King Crab was both overpriced for the portion size and verging on freezer burnt and dried out as there was little meat in the shell. It was quite a disappointment for me and my wife who are both seafood lovers. We will probably visit the Robinson Township location before we completely giv... Read more

This place doesn't even deserve a single star. I went to the location at the branson landing. Wow talk about over priced crap food. I got the sea food platter. All my breading was over cooked. EW. Overly salted fries. EW. My cole slaw (EW) had absolutely no flavor and they put it in a little paper cup that looks like it's made for ketchup. The waiter was terrible. I cook quite a bit at home and am an awesome cook. I'm not a machine so I do ocassionally like to take a break. When I go out I expect good food and good service. That's what I'm paying for. I got neither. My drink should never be empty. When you bring someone a check, wait 20 seconds before walking away. Don't leave for 8 minutes. What a waste of $30. I'M NEVER EATING AT JOE'S CRAB SHACK EVER AGAIN. Once was bad enough and those commercials suck.

I think your food is just as disgusting as your commercials.Do you really think the food you are serving is worth the time and energy it takes for a family to decide where they are going to eat when they are on vacation? I have eaten at some Bad restaurants before, but you guys take the cake... My steak was so overcooked I COULDN'T EVEN EAT IT.....AFTER WAITING 45 MINUTES FOR THE DAMN THING. We are NEVER going to eat there again.

This is a seafood place you go to more for its fun atmosphere and service rather then its food quality. Its like a cool place to meet a first date but as far as delicious meals...... I have had better!

Joe's Crab Shack in Tulsa Ok was the worst dinning experience I/we EVER had. We waited 1 hour for our appetizer and 30 additional minutes for our main course. The food was horrible! So horrible in fact that it made my wife and I sick with stomach cramps. I give this establishment a zero in quality. I wish I could find a way to be witty about this reveiw, but I sence that the only one laughing was the manager for making a profit on selling people garbage.

My wife and I went to Maryland for vacation and decided to visit the restaurant and not go back to a true crab house after seeing thier commercials. As a consumer I was not happy with the small portions and high price and as a New Englander I was upset with the quality of the food. The images in the ads are the best thing about the food. The stuff they brought out to me looked terrible and I could smell that everything had been overheated by the steam. I ordered the Steampot for 2 and its a good thing I did. For those who have never eaten there, the food is served in a very nice large metal pot, deceiving because the food is elevated on a plate to make the dish appear robust. It is not. Two ears of corn, one shriveled and mealy, one very good. Four golf ball sized red potatoes, a normal portion in other restaurants The 8 tiny little 30 count shrimp were so overcooked they had the texture of boiled rubber. Two large sausages that turned out to be the greasiest piece of kielba... Read more

I think your commercials are pretty sad. You have a great restaurant and great food. Why do you have to have kids cussing and dumpy fat men commenting on the ladies around him to sell your eatery? For these reasons, I will not eat at your restaurants, and neither will my large networking groups. If we see descent commercials for a period of time in the future, that attitude may change. Please consider who you really want as customers. sa

The Scoop: My wife, myself and kids ate at a Corpus Christi location on 358 in early summer. We were heading back home (SA) after a day of ocean-time and were pretty well full of hunger. We thought that perhaps something near the coast would have some fresher ocean eats. Pros: 1. We got to eat outside near a playground thing; the kids loved that. And so did I. Eating outside is the best ever. 2. The atmosphere had some character; they've got a unique and fun schtick going-on. The bathrooms have some neat tile-work going on. 3. The staff was respectful and accommodating. 4. Parking, seating and serving were all pretty fast. Cons: 1. The food was pretty mediocre and thus, over-priced. As a vegetarian, I found it difficult to find anything to eat. The salad was coated in dressing. My meat-eating cohorts also claimed that portion-sizes were too small. I'd agree; even the kids sizes were pretty skimpy. And hungry kids are bad news bears. 2. The beverage (Shark Bite) was a fun ... Read more

We aTe at the crab shack in Kissemmee, Florida. We ate there twice because our kids loved the food, the entertainment, the question of the day and the store. They talked about the food the whole next day while vacationing at the pool. The staff was awsome and so was the service. For a family of five with four adults and one child, About 100.00 for dinner. Not bad since we ate in for breakfast and lunch. Great! Wish you came to Buffalo, NY

I am a grandmother, who always goes to Joe's at Broadway at the Beach, Myrtle Beach, SC. We are leaving for the beach tomorrow with our granddaughter, age 9. We told her that we would take her to her favorite restaurant, Joe's. She responded that she didn't want to go to Joe's anymore since they have a commercial that isn't for children, or anybody. I was very surprised, especially since I haven't seen this commercial, but it must be bad for a child to realize it. I'm very disappointed in you. Why would you choose to put something like this on the TV? Sincerely,

The location is fabulous. That is about all that is good about this place. The food is overpriced and overcooked. My shrimp was dry, my husbands chicken was also and my step-daughter had brocoli served to her that had black spots on it...not little spots, big ones. The service was good, the food totally unremarkable.

Go if you want to be blindly robbed! i went to the one in sc at broadway at the beach. it was the last night of my honeymoon and i was going to be flying back home the next day. the food was good and out waitress was nice. the problem i had was i bought some tshirts to remember out trip well the girl who rang up the shirts decided to give herself a tip!!! i would of not relized it (because i used a visa gift card which was a wedding gift) and when i went to use it at another store it wouldnt work. i then called joes crab shack, that night, to find out what was going on and to get it fixed i left my number and everything and no one ever called me back. so i called the next day because the manager i was told i needed to talk to was going to be there. well he wasnt and the lady that was there was totaly RUDE!!!! and said oh well there is nothing we can do. keep in mind i had to spend the last day of my honeymoon dealing with this and almost missed my flight home. so im just trying to get... My family and I went into the city and often make the trip to have dinner and enjoy the sites. We were extremely happy with the food and incredibly surprised that there was a very fun and exciting family entertainment that comes with our meal. The staff was extremely courteous, helpful and more importantly made the experience for our kids (ages 11, 13 & 15) a lot of fun and memorable! I would recommend it for all families, couples and anyone who is looking for a combination of great food and a wonderful time!! We are especially looking forward to coming into S.F. again based on our experience at Joe's Crab Shack! You will not be disappointed. :);)

Review: Ok--My husband and I ate at the Joe's Crab Shack in the San Diego area. We found the food to be quite delicious (yes, we were hungry). The wait to be seated was not bad. The service and atmosphere was quite crude--but we figured out after a while that was purposeful. This was our only problem--real problem with the place: Every person that was serving us food advertised in some way on their T shirt that they had an STD!--This was so UNAPPETIZING!! I really don't care to have waiters or waitresses-or chefs or anyone else touching my food to have "crabs"--(slang for pubic lice!) This was so gross! All the T-shirts that the staff were wearing had the double meaning in regards to "crabs" like: "My waitress gave me crabs at Joe's Crab Shack" and "Crabs are for eating not for itching" and the like. I'd suggest that Joe's Crab Shack get a new and CLEANER idea for promotional advertising. People who think that dirty double meanings are funny for public use just don't have class in my ... Naples, FL: This was by far the worst dining experience ever. SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!!!! I had a similar situation last year here, but I am all for a second chance. We were seated immediatley, and ordered four appetizers for a party of five. Well thank goodness we didnt order an entree, we would have gotten it the following morning. It took 15 minutes everytime for a refill. I had to constantly go up to the counter, I just wanted to fill it myself. My family and I asked for the same thing at least three times. The restaurant is clean, its just very POORLY RUN!!!! There were three employees. A manager and two waitresses. THEY COOKED THE MEALS THEMSELVES!!!! THERE WERE NO COOKS!!! Three tables around us became furious and complanied. It was a very uncomfortable and dissapointing experience. All three tables gave back one plate, and they were all fish. One said it "was cold and flaky" Unless you have a good story that may take a few hours and you want to tell your friends every detail I sug... Read more

Went to the San Francisco location today. Being as it's located at FISHERMAN's WARF, you'd think they'd really pull out all the stops to make sure the fish was superior. But, it was not. In fact, it was cold, stiff and super fishy. I stopped eating for fear of food poisoning! We were the first couple in the place too, so you'd think everything would be super fresh. The staff was really sweet though so, this bad review is in no way a reflection of how we were treated. Just go for drinks and apps....do dinner/lunch elsewhere.

Visited the location at Lake Buena Vista. The food was good and the service was ok. The servers all dance every hour or so, which is a good thing because it distracts you from asking where your food or drinks are...lol. The host stand seemed to be unorganized, even with a manager, "Sara" helping out. She seemed very unpersonable. She did a round of checking on tables, and hit every one around us except ours. Guess she didn't want to have to deal with any concerns. The food was pretty good for the price and the atmosphere was fun, maybe the management is more friendly at another location.

My husband and I and another couple ate at Joe's Crab Shack In Pearland, Tx. The food was very mediocre. The music was loud and the service was very poor. On top of that, I read the waitress' T-Shirt and it say "Crabs are for Eating...Not Itching". I thought I was going to hurl my food I had just ate. I thought that was of extremely poor taste and could not believe management would support that...Where have our morals gone.

it barely deserves the compliment of a one star i'm giving it. i'm all for an entertaining environment... but there is a limit that i suppose this place doesn't know about. and the shrimp must've just been seasoned in the grease it's cooked it. If i wanted to pay for crap i'd hire a toilet as my chef. Just go home if you have this place in mind.

[Las Vegas, Best in the West location] What I ordered was okay, but it wasn't worth the total of $50 to eat there for two! Service was decent, it was around noon on a weekday so they were not too busy. The place looks very nice, almost like a marina, but the food doesn't taste like it. Spend your mone elsewhere.

For you people complaining about the atmosphere you obviously went to the wrong place!! Joe's is a very fun atmosphere with loud music and at least you get some entertainment while you eat!! you should try living a little and try to have fun, if you are trying to have a fancy dinner than maybe your planning should be a little different!! I drive a half hour just to be able to go eat in such a kicked back fun environment and you guys want to complain about everything!! The items they sell in their store are supposed to be funny and the reason they sell them is because obviously some people like them!! loud and too full of people?? well then maybe you should try to stay home and cook yourself, in your boring environment!!!!

Atmospehere is fun. I really like the location in Naples Florida. Its right on the river. Food is just ok, but most people dont go there for the gourmet cuisine. Most items are served in a basket with fries. As far as chain seafood restaurants go, Red Lobster is probably better, but you'll probably have more fun at Joe's!

I have to agree with people who have rated Joe's Crab Shack poorly. I went there once and once was enough. The food wasnt' bad (I had stone crab and nearly slapped the waitress it was so good, LOL!), but the sheer volume level was too much for me. It's a pity I can't seem to find stone crab anywhere else... :(

The worst place in the known world to eat. What is up with the dancing? I mean come on....the kids even thought it was strange. we felt like we were at a midevil mess hall. The crab was like eating an old leather shoe. The shrimp were tiny little and crappy and covered with enough breading in hopes that you wouldn't notice how awful they were. How can you mess up crab if your name is the Crabshack. The crab legs were most likely sitting in the freezer for about a year or so. I would have rather eaten my own legs.

I've been twice and have been amazed at how bad it is. The musical number they do? Even if I could tolerate the noise, the waitstaff isn't allowed to do their jobs while it's going on. But I think the low point there was having awful snow crab. It's called Joe's Crab Shack, and they can't make crabs? They were stringy and dry and wouldn't come out of the shell.
