Jim Beam Black Label

Really good stuff. Kinda like an angel dancing on your tongue. Buy it, you'll like it!

For the combination of quality and price, this may be the best out there. It's of high enough quality to drink straight or on the rocks, yet still cheap enough to mix, and it's still about three bucks cheaper than a bottle of Jack Daniels.

I think it is a great whiskey. I purchased it because at the time I didn't have the money to get my usual Jonny Walker Blue. Yes I know what you are going to say , I know i am a whiskey snob. But I loved it. A friend told me that it was too strong but he drinks Camadian Mist, watered down to the point that he cant taste the alcohol. So needless to say his opinion means nothing to me. All and all a great taste, a great value, and a great whiskey.

Favorite Bourbon!

Nothing really great about it. There's way too much charcoal in the flavor and the only thing good about it is the overtly sweet finish which doesn't last too long. If you're new to bourbon then this will be fine but if you're not, look elsewhere for a great value. I'll stick with the Turkey 101 for $20 bourbon

As a value bourbon that has been well aged it is my favorite pour at this time. I usually drink my various whiskies on the rocks with just a splash of water. This bourbon has some real character and a touch of burn but finishes with a hint of vanilla sweetness and oak. Yes there is a bit more barrel char from the longer aging and slightly higher proof but I have no problem with that. If smoothness more than character is your choice stick with the Canadian whiskies. Where I shop there is very little price difference between JB white (4 yrs.), JB green (5 yrs.), and JB black (8 yrs.). For my money I buy the black as an everyday pour. The green label is a good choice also.

The only label of Jim Beam I'll drink. Other than the small batches.

I just recently fell in hard love with this whiskey, it will remain in my bar from here on out. Starts with a bit of a woody, charcoal taste, but the finish is like candy, amazing!

One of my favorite bourbons. Nice woody, sour mash taste with a really sweet finish. Jim Beam Black is priced well considering what you get. My only complaint is the bottle doesn't last too long.

For the money, this is the one on my shelf.

Slightly more tasty than the original.

Like it's white labeled brother, I expect better from a good old name. It is better finished than the white, but lacks the character of a truly good bourbon.

I would agree that, for the money, this is an excellent bourbon - matches many of much greater cost.

I had a lot of this over New Year's. It was really good. Also, I randomly found that 3 parts jack daniels and one part jim beam is delicious

Jim Beam....after tasting it's idfferent blends makes me wonder Y??  Just is not a quality product....so many, so many better bourbons to select from and enjoy....do yourself a flavor and buy Makers, Knob, Bookers, Blantons, Woodford, Wild Turkey and the list goes on.

Since bourbon is made primarily from corn this is a shining example of what a bourbon should taste like.  Bourbon isn't suppose to be the overly sweet or overly potent liqour that most people assume.  This is a very straightforward bourbon with enough complexity to drink by itself and enough potency to stand up in mint julips.

Have tried it a few times. You would expect it to be excellent since it is aged for a long period of time. However, it just never tastes right to me. Something is just "off" with the flavor.

Leaving it in the barrel for eight years does two things: 1. It mellows and deepens the flavor, and makes for a very palatable whiskey, and 2. It gives the product a pretty heavy taste of charred oak.

Better than white label

Cannot understand the hoopla on this one. Regular Beam isn't a bad bourbon at all, but this stuff has vicious charcoal and chewing tobacco overtones to the flavor that make it wretched straight and useless as a mixer. Save yourself the buck fifty and just get the white label Beam.

Overrated and ubiquitous

Simply put it's a good bourbon for a good price.

This Bourbon is about as good as it gets,and better than several much costlier brands.

Nothing special.
