Most of us watch cartoons because they make us laugh. The Jetsons is not one of those cartoons I watch to make me laugh. I get my fun when watching Jetsons from the way they have made life easy with technology. I usually look forward for the next crazy idea they may present.

its been a while since i watched it but it is a light-hearted show and shows the possibilities of how we could live in the future if you think about that sort of stuff.

After the ringing success of the "Flintstones" Hanna-Barberra came up with another prime-time hit as a follow-up. It started off with a bang and eventually bit the dust when they ran out of ideas. Plus Mom & Pop at home controlled the t.v. and one cartoon in primetime was passable but two in one week was using up the family tv schedule. Most likely better things for adults to watch at that time.

"The Jetsons" seem to hold a special place due to it's omnipresence in the Saturday morning cartoon lineup for many of us, but on closer inspection the series wasn't all that great. The original primetime run was only a mere 20+ episodes, and almost all were redundant. Due to more originality, it's no real mystery why "The Flintstones" (a contemporary series and the real inspiration for "The Jetsons") is better respected and had more longevity.

Jetsons was alright. *But after* seeing the Flintsones as a kid.....Got bored with it. Maybe it was the animation and/or the interaction with other characters that mighr have done it!!! Hmmm!

As much as I liked the Flintstones, I disliked the Jetsons. I compare it to the hilarious Simpsons vs. its lame Matt Groening counterpart, Futurama. To most kids of the Baby Boom era, Dinosaurs and Cavemen were funnier than the future and technology. I once wrote a lengthy college term paper about why the Flintstones were better than the Jetsons and got an A+. The one positive: Though the pulchritude of Betty vs. Wilma is oft debated, Jane Jetson was well animated herself.

PBeavr says it all, this cartoon (which I can't believe actually made it) was horrible. Even as a kid I remember thinking to myself what the hell, is this crap? And I think the same holds true now. Garbage.

I never really got into the Jetsons. There is no real plot through out the show and the dialouge in really boring and doesn't keep me entertained. The characters are flat and unengaging. Not a good show.

I know i liked this better when i was a kid. Kind of the futures answer to the Flinstones. they had some cute ideas what the future could look like. Instant dinner{yea that would be nice} robot. flying vehicles. the cartooning was not so great. not my favorite cartoon but not horrible.

This is a great classic 'toon. It is amazing how syndication stretched these 24 episodes. How many shows can say they are still around in syndication from only a single season run in 1961 with only 24 original episodes?

Yeah, even though it's the same plot over and over, I like it. George does something stupid, get's fired, then at the end is rehired. And Jane, she's so stereotypical for a wife. And elroy is whiney, and Judy is the same. But it's still amusing, and has that great themesong!

I watched this when I was younger, and thought the writers had such wild imaginations. All of the gadgets and devices that this family had. I look back on it now, and think these writers must have had a crystal ball when they wrote the episodes. Moving sidewalks, robotic servants, robotic pets, video phones, near completely autimated office buildings and apartments. I can only wonder when we will all start flying to work in those little space cars.

I really liked this show...not as much as the Flinstones...but it is another classic. The messes George got in with Mr. Spacely were funny.

Love this one! As a kid I thought it would be so neat to be able to live like that. Flying around in a space ship! Ha!
