Sat Oct 09 2010I don't believe that is is very influential at all because it didn't benefit mankind in anyway. But on the other hand, I am not Christian.

Fri Jun 11 2010I would like to share my opinion that the number one most important event in history is not Jesus' death- but His resurrection. If he had not risen from the dead and overcome death, He would simply be a prophet who taught a wonderful gospel not the Son of God with the power to give His life and to take it up again. It was His resurrection from the dead that completed His Atonement- after having suffered for our sins in Gethsemane and dying on the cross. If He had not risen- we never could be resurrected either and would not have really been our Savior. I love Him for His sacrifice and know that it was this event- His Atonement which always includes His resurrection that is the most important event to ever occur in the History of the world.

Tue May 25 2010May peace and blessings be upon Jesus the son of the Pure Mary ... My peace and blessings be upon the one who was sent by God the One to lighten the way to Heaven , lead the astray and warn people ... Jesus (peace be upon him) came to us as a prophet and a Mighty Messenger sent by God the one and he will come back someday ... Jesus wasn't a God and wasn't crucified but he was a mighty messenger with lot's of miracles . that's what Muslims do believe in they love Jesus peace be upon him and believe in him also recount his favours of preaching the massage of God and know well how much he suffered for that . Allah (means God in Arabic) says in the Holy Quran: 3:45 Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah. 5:110 Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Recount My favour to thee and to ... Read more

Tue May 25 2010The Christianization of Europe is the most significant thing about this religion. Its morals usually fall on dead ears, as idiots will be idiots, but at leats we aren't all muslims now.

Sun May 23 2010Whether or not you're a Christian, it would be self-deceptive to deny the Impact of Jesus' death. For starters, go back and read Franks review. He's got a point, no? Also, this was an event that not only split the Calendar in half but changed quite a bit in Western history for better or for worse. +It changed Rome from a bunch of Gladiator fighting, blood-thirsty warriors, to a softer civilization. Without Christianity Rome may have fallen earlier, or later, who knows? But the face of Rome changed quite a bit. +Many of the early schools were founded by the Church +Most of the early advances is Science were founded by the Church. This trend has begun to reverse itself, but I never did believe that science and Religion need to be at odds if both sides would just relax and be Groovy. +Some of the Greatest influences in art +Some of the greatest influences in music +The foundation of Hospitals And you also had -The Crusades -The Inquisition -Witch hunts Not all change is good.

Sun May 23 2010Ah, the Dead Jew on a Stick. One of many thousands of Jews killed in this manner by the Romans, those lovers of sadistic torture. This wasn't much of an event (oh, sure, the Gospels--all written in the mid-2nd century--talk about earthquakes and people popping out of graves; funny how no one else mentioned these incredible events...). What WAS a major event was the creation of the Gnostic religion called "Christianity," the beginning of which occurred a century after the Jeezer croaked. Nothing like a man-made religion based on human sacrifice...

Tue Jan 12 2010There was probably a Jewish Rebel that the Jesus Myth was based upon.If so,he definately died.I'm just not convinced about any literal "resurrection" unless some trickery was involved.I do NOT believe someone can wash away the sins of others through martyrdom.

Tue Jan 12 2010I doubt Jesus ever existed. He's probably just a made up character like Zeus or Krishna. The real significance of "Jesus" lies in how little his followers follow his teachings. The lasting hypocrisy of Western societies.

Tue Jan 12 2010Certainly his death had a major impact on the world, but imagine the impact he could have had if he hadn't died. He'd be approximately 2,000 years old now. Who wouldn't listen to a 2,000 year old man?

Fri Nov 07 2008There's no question here. The one single most significant event in the history of mankind. The next most important event will be when He returns.

Wed Feb 28 2007Even if you're not religious or not Christian, it's indeed impossible to deny that this was a catalyst for an almost infinite array of historical events.

Wed Feb 28 2007Whoever accepts that He was crucified (shedding His blood for all of us), buried, resurrected, and then ascended to Heaven (currently sitting at the right hand of the Father)... has eternal life.

Wed Feb 28 2007It eliminated our sins for now and for ever more. That is pretty important...

Wed Feb 28 2007It kinda altered the course of western civilization. Hmm...

Wed Feb 28 2007When Jesus died on the cross for everyone’s sin, we were given the opportunity to have all our sins against God be forgiven. Without the perfect sacrifice, ALL had no chance of salvation!!!

Wed Feb 28 2007Important historical moment. . .too bad a noticeable percentage of his followers have spent two thousand years trying to ignore, downplay, impede, or ridicule other prophets, philosophies, and (or course) science. . .
