Wed Aug 18 2010Not sure if he is still called Reverend but he is no Reverend. More like Irreverent! Used the message of the Gospel to help the distressed and the poor to get himself very rich (Bad fruit)!

Thu Aug 12 2010He is called Rev. Jesse Jackson but I'm not sure if this means he is Christian. One thing I do know is he is not the usual kind of Preacher that looks down his nose at people. He spoke for gays, the poor and disadvantaged of all colors. He also spoke kindly of gays, unlike the rest of these so called Preachers and he helped fight for equal pay for woman and all minorities. Sure he may have done it for power & noteriety but at least he did it.

Thu Aug 12 2010What I despise more than Jessie Jackson flaunting his bully power to gain an advantage is racial hatred. God will repay this kind of hatred by assigning a special place in the hottest parts of Hell for people who hate what God created based on the color of the skin pigment which God gave the people he created. Evil is sin and so is racial and other kinds of hatred without a just cause! There have been Evil Dictators and leaders of all colors who have helped chip away at the fabric of this planet, not just the likes of Jessie Jackson.

Tue Dec 09 2008Not especially great. but I give him 5 * because there's no way he's worse than Trent Lott and I want to do my part to fix that.
by fitman
Tue Dec 09 2008Jesse may deserve a *1* or a *2*, but he's not as disgusting a crook as many of the wingnuts who've been rated higher, so I'm going to join jj_frap in attempting to correct the balance.

Wed Oct 29 2008I thought Jesse Jackson was the love child of John Edwards.

Mon Jan 14 2008many of his ideas from the presidential run have been adopted by mainstream politicians now...some of the same ones who were then critical...

Wed Aug 29 2007569 votes of "1" must be some kind of a record on RIA. After seeing that, I won't let anyone even suggest to me that RIA is "liberal." While it would be good to have someone in Jackson's position who isn't spawning illegitimate children or employing made-up words, it's still necessary to point out that Jackson has been doing an essential service to the nation for decades now. The "Rainbow Coalition" was far more compelling than anything Sharpton has served up. At so many moments in recent history, Jackson has been there ... even though sometimes I wish he wasn't, because the media seems to turn to him as a predictable "Black Perspective" when there are so many better and more varied black voices in the public sphere. Still, Jackson has been a worthy and noble part of American culture, and deserves more respect than this.

Mon Aug 13 2007This guy...outlived any usefulness he may have once had a long, long time ago.

Fri Aug 10 2007Please don't judge Christianity by the conduct of Christians. Judge Christianity by the conduct of Christ. That said, Mr. Jacksons political is not worth mentioning any further.
by jstephenconn
Tue Mar 20 2007Jesse Jackson has done more to hurt the black race than any person living or dead - and all in a self-serving effort to enrich and empower himself.
by disgust4pcness
Tue Nov 07 2006I'm amazed that Jackson is listed under Politicians and Officials...plain and simple, he is a propagandist. Then again, I guess you could say that most politicians are propagandists...however, Jesse Jackson defines the term...he doesn't speak a single truth. He is also a race-baiter, a feminist, he can't speak English to save his life (ebonics and rap do not count), and he is (along with Al Sharpton) the quintesential racist. Anyone that does not believe this has been fooled by a master craftsman.

Thu Mar 09 2006Jesse dude don't make up words to try to sound smart. The ratingation I will give you is twicealious stars. That is a missadeduction of highly monscruptliocious atrocities! <-- See Jesse Jackson, bigger words aren't always a good thing dude.

Fri Feb 24 2006I noticed for the most part that a lot of black people are rated the lowest. Usually I would disagree with these claims but I have to rate this guy low. My reasons are differnet than most of yours, some don't like blacks who are newsworthy. Jesse is supposed to be a leader, you can't do things like cheat on your wife. You can't tell us what the black community is doing wrong and you did the same thing. He screwed around on his wife and had a kid on the side. I tell ya, this guy and Bill Cosby.

Sat Jan 21 2006All I have to say is stop listening to this loser and listen to Bill Cosby. At least he has enough guts to address the real problems.

Sun Nov 06 2005Con Artist! But I am a member in good standing at his church and still get a little emotional listening to his sermons every Sunday.

Sun Nov 06 2005He's a funny guy. He has a good heart too. I think he really means well.

Mon Oct 03 2005Can't black people see how this manipulator keeps blacks from becoming independent and proud of themselves. By telling them that they need extra help (Affirmative Action), he is basically saying, you are inferior and you need special assistance. What an insult!

Fri Sep 16 2005This guy is a piece of crap.

Mon Sep 05 2005Jesse Jackson needs to get the hell out of New Orleans, and stay out of the Hurricane Katrina situation. We don't need this ignorant crap.

Wed Jul 27 2005In the words of former congressman JC Watts from Oklahoma: A race hustling poverty pimp. He is one of the reasons the Democrats can't currently win an important national election anymore. People like him, Barbara Boxer, Cynthia McKinney, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters, Teddy Kennedy and others pull the Democratic party even further away from mainstream American thought and values than do a bunch of Fundamentalist Christians who want to force feed Terry Schiavo and teach creationism.

Sat Jul 23 2005Keep hope alive Jesse.
by southparker9
Mon Apr 11 2005I hope he doesn't find out who I am. He might sue me behind race. Me being Black might hurt his case. He is the biggest corporate blackmailer in America. Couldn't get elected dogcatcher. Should govern through his son.

Fri Mar 25 2005Jackson doesn't give a tinker's damn about child slavery in Africa. He can't get money from them and there are no white people or corporations over there to extort money from. Jackson is a self-serving SCUMBAG, pure and simple! I wonder if brother Jesse every got around to paying child support for all his little Jesses and Jessies? But of course all us white people should be paying for them, after all our evil ancestors made him do it.

Mon Mar 07 2005Is it NOT against the Law, to impersonate a reverend/preacher/minister/rabbi , or any Man of God?You MUST be registered with all the paperwork , and everything else ,right? So how has he, sharpton , and every lesser known black racist race baiters in every city ,large and small , been allowed to get away with this , for so many decades? Round them up , and throw them in jail , for the rest of their lives!!!!
by james76255
Tue Feb 15 2005I don't like most of his politics, but I have to admit he does a hell of a job when it comes to dealing with diplomacy. The fact that he has helped get hostages released is enough to get a 3 from me.

Sat Sep 11 2004Does anybody take this guy seriously anymore? He's Bill Clinton's idea of an marraige counselor. Only liberals wouldn't see the humor in that. He speaks in jingles. The media gives him a free ride. He's a joke.
by truthordare
Fri Sep 03 2004Horton Heat is a Reverend also. Truth is, he's about as much a reverend as Jim Dobson is. But as far as I know, Dobson hasn't fathered any illegitimate children.

Wed Aug 04 2004Jesse is nothing but a greedy, sleazy opportunist who extorts money and plays on people's prejudices and fears. He is not religious in the least.

Tue Aug 03 2004Can you say S-A-T-A-N?

Sat Jul 31 2004This guy is a fake and a jerk! He is not, was not and will never be a Reverend. He added that title to his name so people would respect him! So, in the end, he is a liar and a fraud!
by kikikristi
Thu Jul 29 2004Who died and made you god? There are tons of respectable black americans who SHOULD have their voices heard. Step aside, you've had your chance. Let the real heros have the stage.

Sun Jun 13 2004A hypocrite who gets a free ride from the citizens of this country. Hey, Reverend: if you really want to help your people, why don't you start paying taxes like the rest of us?
by jonhere
Wed May 12 2004This guy does an injustice to all Minority causes. His hatefull, ambulance chasing, extortionist angle only works to divide America. But he don't care as long as he gets paid.
by abichara
Sun Apr 04 2004Jesse Jackson is out of gas as a political leader. His failure lies in his inability to change with the times, making him largely irrelevant today in the civil rights movement. He was a close associate of Martin Luther King Jr. and has led various liberal civil rights organizations since then. Jackson uses race too much as a flashpoint. Black businessmen who might be unethical get a pass in his book because of their skin color. Blackmailing companies that don't hire that many blacks is also not right. Unfortunately this guy is the most prominent civil rights leader in the country right now. Time to field for new talent and ideas. It's time to move beyond the old victimization track.
