Jerry Seinfeld

This man can be somewhat funny, but like some of the others he is trying too hard to capture his audience, and sometime it is just not that funny. This one as well need to focus more on his acting skills as well, but I do believe his best side shine through when he is acting. That is when he's funny.

I think Jerry is so funny! I love Seinfeld.

This guy is not funny nor was he ever funny long before his stupid show. Even in his show it was the people around him that were funny not him.

At first I only knew him as Barry in Bee Movie but then I started watching Seinfeld and I got to learn how good he really is, he is a master of observational humor.

His show was excellent for a sitcom. His standup is just redundant and irritating.

I only know him from his show. Its an excellent show but contrary to TV Guide its definitely not the best show in TV history. That would go to the Star Trek franchise. Anyway judging only from the bits Seinfeld does at the end of his show I'm just not impressed with his stand up skills. "Did you ever notice... what's up with that?" It sound like the postman from Cheers when he tried to be a stand up comic.

His standup was always funny IMO. His many appearances on the Tonight Show and his many HBO shows are all excellent. One of the hardest working comedians today.

Am I the only one on the planet that felt the show was a tad overrated?  (Still funny- but I never drank the Kool-Aid about how legendary the show was.)

Loved the show ~ who didn't? But honestly, could Jerry have pulled this show off on his own? Don't think so!

I thought as a stand-up he was clever and intelligent in the age when shock was all the rage.  Sam Kinison and Andrew Dice Clay et al could stretch out the littlest bits of comedy into a whole show by screaming, swearing and being mean and belittling the weakest members of their audience.  It was a low point in American culture and Jerry Seinfeld was at the forefront of making comedy funny again.  He was rewarded by a long successful run on TV basically plying his stand-up point of view through his great ensembel cast.

I used to think Jerry Seinfeld was among the greatest comedians, but it wasn't until I saw Curb your Enthusiasm that I realized Larry David was the true genius behind Seinfeld (the show). His act is moderately entertaining at best. If you watch his documentary, "Comedian" you may also get the impression that he kind of an arrogant %&*@. However, I still maintain that the "Seinfeld" was the best sitcom of all times.

His show was certainly funny and groundbreaking, but his stand-up routine was typical, run of the mill smarmy New Yorker material.

A completely over rated comic. He somehow created a myth about himself that others have bought into.

the modern master of observational humor. i've been a fan of Seinfeld's since i caught his HBO special back in 1988 and he hasn't failed me yet.

Not as funny as everyone thinks. Success on hit sitcom came from every character but him. His strength on the show was playing of off other better characters in great ensemble cast.

Jerry Seinfeld is great. I wish the show was still on the air! But even re-runs that we've all seen a dozen times are still incredibly entertaining..... If you sit through an episode of Seinfeld and you don't laugh, check your pulse because you might be dead!

I have never found anything he has said or done funny. As for his show well Kramer is hilarious,George is funny,and Elaine is a riot..But Jerry (nothing) not funny,not hilarious,not even worth a grin..

This guy is an AMAZING comedian he is a great comedian he is really funny. And his show was superb.

His cynical view on everything is both clever and interesting, he makes a lot of good points. Technically, he is also a very good comedian. He uses the rights tone of voice in every one of his jokes, sometimes makes faces and uses hand gestures. He always tells his jokes with a certain confidence that many lesser comedians lack.

Isn't this the guy who does all of that you ever wonder why stuff? Not that there's anything wrong with that... Jerry's great and he doesn't have to get filthy to make you laugh & in this day that's a big plus!

Seinfeld is another stand-up comedian who does not use profanity as a crutch (though not all use of profanity is using a crutch). While his observational humor is not for everyone, I find it witty and sometimes insightful. Comedy has historically been the area where new social taboos first make their appearance (for instance comedians stopped making drunk driving jokes well before society started getting serious about this) and where social taboos first show signs of fading. As to the latter, in other words it is often the comedians who are the first to say that the emperor has no clothes. This is evidenced in how often the storylines of Seinfeld challenged political correct thought and behavior. As to the television show, the original idea was to have Jerry do stand-up before and after each commercial break with the story illustrating how his everyday life inspired his act. Absolutely hilarious.

His act was a page out of one of his idol's Bill Cosby's reportoire...a great storyteller on stage..and he created the best show television has ever seen!
