He had a fairly successful series of terms by Florida standards, at least. What does the future hold? My recommendation is that we have a respite from the Bushes for a while to give us a chance to recuperate.

I lived under the Jeb Bush regime for 5 years. Florida is now what California used to be. Freaks, drunks, failers, divorcees move there to get a fresh start. As a "Right to Work(for very little)" state, many can't leave when they should. With the population as it is, there are no services for anyone other than the elderly. The elderly vote. You can walk down the street in downtown Tampa and not find a Trash can. With so many not wanting to contribute to society, Road kill lies on the street for weeks. I was glad to leave that state. Finally two words Teri Schivo

I am a grandmother of 2 girls in Florida and understand there is a bill for grandparents rights on tap. Where does it stand? I want a right to see my granddaughters and they want to see me but the mother won't let me. I think this is wrong. What am I to do? Please tell me where to write or go for help. It's hard to deduce which of these is a bigger menace to Florida: Environmental disasters or Jeb Bush.

What a joke this guy is. Jeb will do anything his brother George asks him to even if it adversly affects the people of Florida. He very rarely makes decisions based on what the PEOPLE want and rather chooses avenues to better the republicans. I am a liberal but that doesn't mean that I am total anti-conservative, but Jeb is making it mighty easy to be one.

Don't worry fellow Floridians. His term is soon ending and there's a list of candidates for his job next year. He keeps pushing for private school vouchers as if that's the solution to overcrowding in schools and making kids smarter. I think there will be a major reform of the FCAT testing system with the next governor. Many of you are right, the counties in South Florida have received more money, but that doesn't mean they support him;whereas the counties to the north support him and he ignores them. Go figure.

It would appear that following the diasasters that plague his state, this governor is turning a blind eye to the fraud and conspiracy leveled on the seniors in the hurricane devasted areas. Yes Mr. Bush, who is policing the insurance companies and licensed contractors? No one. You can talk the talk while on camera, but where are you in the aftermath.

Jeb is actually smart unlike his sibling which scares the **** out of me. I hate his guts and I will tell you why. First off, he overruled the states courts and told the lady who wanted the right to die that she could not, which set precedent so vulgar to our constitution that a law had to be passed to prevent such a mother fuker as Jeb from doing this again. He is just like his brother in policy mostly except that he has a brain. He has supported laws to ban abortions and create a male-dominated Florida society. He has lobbied for bills that would force a woman who was raped or had sex with a man who then dissapeared to put out adds in the newspaper for a given amount of time at HER EXPENSE to find the man before she could legally allow the kid to go up for adoption. He is an @**hole and I would shoot him if I had a gun and was in the same room as him. I promise that (but I don't have a gun and I never will so I am safe). I hate his guts completely. I hope he dies painfully.

I am not a big Republican fan, and I do not like the Bushes. A lot of them are drug addicts and break the law. George Sr. and Jr. are morons. Out of the Bush men, Jeb is the most sane. I don't like the whole medicade issue and the fact that he doesn't really seem to care about the elderly. But what do you expect, he's a Bush. And out of all the Bushes, Jeb is as sane as they're gonna get. However, he did step up to the plate when Hurricane Charley hit. He did an ok job with that. If any of the Bushes had to be president (which I don't think any of them should be), Jeb would probably do the best job. As good as a Bush is going to do.

jeb bush not only shows no respect for the elderly, he dones not show any for the disabled people. my daughter had to pay $400 + a month to attend Sunrise Arc in Leesburg, FL...only because the medicade program has a freeze on it or at least that's what i've been told. i think it is a very sad thing to do do the the disabled people.

Jeb Bush sucks. He has revised medicaid to kill people.....Some people have been certain meds for years and he goes and revised medicaid so you can not get them with no worning so if you need to be weened off something such as seazure meds.(because they decided to take it off the meds. list to pay for) forget it jest to save a buck for his campain and there is hardly any doctors that will take it know if you need a specialest in Florida forget it...I feel he has put Florida in the dark age.. the best thing could happen is the Bushes be voted out .....Florida is thev only state who has revieved medicaid this bad....

Jeb Bush has actually been a decent executive for the state of Florida, one of the most effective in its history. He's managed to streamline the entire administration of the state government, making it far more efficient. On education, he raised funding significantly across the board, but his testing policies are skewed unfairly against poorer immigrant and minority schools. Here in Miami lots of schools with poor students have been denied funds because of poor test scores. These students, many whom don't know English, can't compete with schools that have English speaking kids. Poor schools need help, no incentive can be given to make them perform better, their needs are different. Most of his truly meaningful reforms occured during the first two years he was in office from 1999-2001. He accomplished everything he set out to do in 2 years. He ran for re-election primarily on his accomplishments and won, crime was lowered, Florida had a better business environment, and test scores were ... Read more

I don't want to rate Jeb Bush (no opinion on Jeb Bush specifically), but state... The reason Florida has such poor living conditions, in regards to education, health care, children and families, etc. is because of LOW TAXES... Let the politicians raise taxes, (State, County, Income, Real Estate, etc.), and you will see an improvement in all state-funded programs. For all you financially-secure elderly retirees, that moved from high-taxed states, (EG. NY, NJ, etc), and now are voting against ALL programs that do not benefit you personally... YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. To anyone who did NOT come to Florida with a large nest-egg, and did NOT come to Florida to escape high taxes...GO OUT AND VOTE! The children of Florida need someone to protect them, and I doubt it will be the relocated, Floridian, elderly, and retirees- living comfortably in their mortgage-free homes, with low RE/School/etc. taxes. From, A 42 yo New Yorker living in Florida with 2 young children... Florida is a nice pl... Read more

I just wonder why it is that our governer seems not to care about the elderly? My mother was un a nursing home and due to sever abuse and neglect she is now clinging to life. She is now on full life support with only a 20% chance to live. I was told by adult provtective services that the chances of these people being brought to justice were nill to none. Why you ask because there is not enough supervision of these plcaes, becauce the government is turning a blind eye due to kick backs from the insurance companies that fund these places!!!! Shame on you Jeb Bush it is sad that animals are treated better in shelters than the elderly are. Some day you will be old Jeb but you will be lucky enough not to suffer the rich never do.

I have lived in Florida for 14 years, and I despise him greatly. There is no space here to help someone understand the amount of injustice Jeb Bush has gotten away with. He claims to be helping schools, but the overcrowding of students in Miami-Dade, where I attended, is horrid. I had no idea what the book looked like for HONORS algebra 2, I didn't learn a single thing, I flunked every test, and they passed me with an A for the ADVANCED summer program. If you are late to class, you miss your seat. It's a circus. Of course people have a hard time passing nation-wide tests. South Florida's public schools are a disaster.

How many Bush family members have been in trouble with the law? Let me see...Dubyah was a dope snorting drunk who broke the law. His daughters are drunks who routinely break the law, his brother Neal is a crook, Jeb's daughter is a crackhead... Soft on drugs. Obviously.

He's a Bush so that's good, but what the hell kinda name is Jeb? Florida is old and has minorities, so I'm surprised a Republican with his family name got in there. Of course this state almost got us stuck with that tree-hugging moron Gore, so maybe they just can't make up their minds about anything...

After extensive research, I really have come to respect this man even more than his brother. As a Democrat, I would trust this man more in the Oval Office than I do his brother. He has raised standards for education in Florida, increasing school funding by $1.4 Billion, the largest increase EVER! His plan also provides oppurtunity scholarships for students in chronically failing schools. Meanwhile, he also granted over $1.2 billion in tax cuts to Florida's working families and elderly people, benefiting everyone in the long term and helping to stimulate economic growth. He also signed into law a tough initiative punishing violent gun offenders. His budgets in 1999 and 2000 made unprecedented investment in Florida's schools and working families and again provides tax relief to those who need it most. Governor Bush also vetoed bills that he believed to be inappropriate use of taxpayer money, saving over $2 Billion dollars to invest in Florida's schools and social services. His economic p... As a person living in Florida, I must say that I seriously hate Jeb Bush. He has really done nothing useful as Governor, and I just want to know how the hell he was re-elected. McBride was just so much better. Here that Floridians? What the hell were you all thinking? Anyway, I'm just going to mention something I read about recently so you can know just how terrible he is. His new plan to save money on the Florida budget is to fire all the lawyers representing death row inmates. Of course it's because they are too expensive, it has nothing to do with the fact that the office attracts young, liberal, anti-death penalty lawyers, oh no. So he's replacing the government lawyers with private lawyers. Hm. How is that going to save money you ask? Well, he's only going to allow those private lawyers to bill 840 hours. Considering that death penalty cases are usually quite time consuming, sometimes taking upwards of 3,000 hours it looks like everyone is going to fry!

This isnt an opinion Of Jeb Bush but, A question that maybe many would aslo like to be informed. People receiveing Medicaid are the less forunate but, do receive state assistance. Sometimes these, "State of Florida " polices are pretty tough for people to meet the requirment. I have met the requirement. Why, because I no longer can work and I am concidered disabled by the State Of Florida Constitution. My medication exceds the ammount of money I would receive monthly so, I have met the benfit that my medications are free for me. I don't know why I am getting into this when the question I want to ask is simply this. " Am I allowed, or should I say, is there a program that existes at this time for LIFE INSURANCE? Please e-mail me and explain the requirments for this option as soon as you can. I very much would appreaciate this information. Jeb Bush is doing a fine job as the govener of Florida. I hope he continues the good work. Thank you very much for giving me an oppurtinuity to expres... Read more
