It has been (3) years since I had my child and I can finally write this review ... I should have left from Dr. Gail Jackson's care during prenatal visits as she would never listen to my concerns regarding edema and severely swollen ankles and legs. She'd tell me I was "too vain" and that I should stop wearing high heels. I also called her Mrs. Jackson once and she very quickly corrected me with "it's Dr. Jackson". Yes office visits were long and sometimes I would end up only seeing a nurse practitioner because of her hectic schedule but what took place on the day of delivery and thereafter leaves me very skeptical about doctors and their professionalism. I was to deliver via scheduled cesarean at noon one day, but 12-hours earlier (at midnight) the baby decided to come. I called Dr. Jackson and headed to the hospital. Dr. Jackson did not return the call until 2am and stated that she would not be coming to the hospital until 7am as she had another scheduled c-section at 8am, so I c... Read more

I saw Dr. Jackson only once after that. She added tea to my menu but the nurses did not bring it stating that it had not been written in my file b4 the dr. left. I paged Dr. Jackson to call the nurses desk and have it added. Dr. Jackson called my room and, again, yelled at me stating, "I'm in a meeting! Why are you paging me about some damn tea!" LITERALLY. Again, in tears. My delivery was during the holidays and Dr. Jackson was going on vacation so after this she left me and I only saw resident doctors. I was released 7 days after my delivery. I went home... 5 days later I had excruciating pain in my abdomen and was rushed to emergency. Turns out I had an abscess. Dr. Jackson had hit an artery during the delivery and did not repair it, thus, I was bleeding internally for 13 days! I had a tube inserted that was supposed to drain from the abscess, however, very little did and there was talk of another surgery to repair the situation. On top of this and my body being so compr... As a women we all want to know what could potentially go wrong in the future. She will address that. The draw back is the rush, and not giving details, telling you to read, go on the internet ?????? What are we paying her for. She is more concern with your fashion, or hair, then medical concerns. I guest she just needs to be a doctor with more concern to the patients needs, and take her time..

I have been a patient of Dr. Gail Jackson for over 15 years. When my insurance changed, I changed my primary care physician so that I could remain a patient in her medical group. She is a great doctor and I have always received wonderful care from her and her staff. She is always pleasant and caring. A very forward thinking doctor, Dr Jackson seeks the best for her patients. Most of all she is a great person (not perfect but a human being) whom in my opinion is genuinely and sincerely concerned about those in her care. I recommend Dr. Jackson to any woman needing a great GYN-OB -- If I had a daughter I would send her to Dr. Jackson without reservation. She is definitely one of the best!

Dr. Jackson is a wonderful person. She makes me feel comfortable (which can be hard to do!), and is extremely intelligent – clearly on top of her game. I truly feel lucky to have discovered her.

I was having hormone issues and Dr. Jackson was the only doctor to administer bioidentical hormones to me and really explain what she was doing. I have never felt better. I even met a woman on the street who was saying how great she felt, and I asked why and how? She told me she had been to Dr. J. and went on to gush about how knowledgeable, kind and helpful she had been. I think I Dr. Jackson is one of the best in town!

I've been going to Gail for a couple years now and I have to say I almost look forward to my checkups! She is sweet and always bubbly so I feel really comfortable (even in uncomfortable positions!). Also, she's super smart and knowledgable--I can tell she's on top of the latest on everything and tells me like it is. I definitely recommend her.

I wouldn't go back to this gyn. It took several days of pursuing her staff to get lab results back and I found the doctor to be dismissive.

I've been seeing Dr. Jackson for about 3 years now and I haven't experienced anything negative like what these other people are saying. Actually, she delivered my first baby last November and she was the most incredible doctor I could have imagined! The nurse had me pushing (ineffectively) for hours. Dr. Jackson stopped by, on her lunch break, to check on me, and took control of the whole situation! She was clearly in charge and knew what she was doing in that delivery room! She got me to focus and push the baby out! I remember feeling like I just couldn't do it....until she came along. Once she got there, she made me feel like I could do anything. She was amazing! I will be, forever, grateful to Dr. Jackson for bringing my son into the world!

I had a terrible experience with this doctor. She and her staff left me scared, confused, and often in tears. The wait time is terrible, yes, but I've come to expect that from doctors. What I did not expect was to be treated so poorly. She literally said "I don't know," when I asked her questions. She did not explain what she was doing, and she failed to give me information that was very important for my future health. I will be switching to a new doctor as soon as possible, and I highly recommend women go elsewhere. I can honestly say I feel emotionally scarred from my visits to Dr. Jackson.

This was the worst doctors experience i've EVER had. She completely ruined my whole day. I was in a vulnerable state because of the nature of my visit. After waiting for 1 hour, she saw me for a total of about 1 1/2 minutes. She was rude, didn't ask me about my concerns, and was completely dismissive. After she left the room, i was almost in tears. The nurse came in and apologized profusely saying "I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to see someone else. She does this all the time." Do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from this place - you'll leave feeling 100X worse than when you came in.

I have had "woman" issues all of my life. Dr. Jackson was the only doctor who gave me the information I needed to make an informed decision. She seems to keep up with advances in medicine which is great when you are speaking of hormone issues. She has truly helped me. I needed surgery and she walked me through the entire process. She truly kept me informed of what would happen step by step. Her staff is always pleasant and kind to me. I will go to no other doctor!

My visit to Dr.Gail JAckson i was so scared and thought i was going to lose the baby. She was so sweet and nice and reasurring. i am happy we were referred there. The staff is so very nice. They saw me immediately and gave me a group hug after. My friends all go to her and I see why. They said to expect to wait a bit but my wait was not bad at all. My baby is healthy....she was amazing and supportive in the delivery room. I felt so safe.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THE TRAUMA OF SEEING THIS DOCTOR. MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE PREGNANT AND STILL ON THE FENCE AS TO WHAT WE SHOULD DO IN TERMS OF HAVING THE BABY OR HAVING A PROCEDURE. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS DOCTOR BY WAY OF A GOOD REFERRAL, (WRONG!!!!). FIRST OFF, WE WAITIED 40 MINUTES AFTER OUR APPOINTMENT TIME TO BE SEEN. ONCE THE EXAM BEGAN, THE DOCTOR PROCEEDED TO ASK MY GIRLFRIEND IF SHE HAS HAD A TERMINATION PROCEDURE BEFORE, TO WHICH THE ANSWER WAS YES. THE DOCTOR THEN SAID TO MY GIRLFRIEND THAT SHE OBVIOUSLY HADNT LEARNED HER LESSON FROM THE LAST PROCEDURE AND HOW COULD SHE EMOTIONALLY SUSTAIN ANOTHER PROCEDURE, SAYING, "ONCE YOU HAVE A CHILD YOU WILL REGRET THIS DECISION AND HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO YOUR CHILD?" SHE ASKED MY GIRLFRIEND RIDICULOUS QUESTIONS LIKE, "YOU DO KNOW THIS WOULD BE A LIFE YOU ARE THROWING AWAY?" DR JACKSON TOLD HER IF SHE WANTS TO HAVE A PROCEDURE SHE SHOULD GO TO A "FREE CLINIC" AND THAT SHE HAD NO REFERRALS FOR HER. MY... Read more

This has been horrible. I'm 7 months pregnant and hoping to find a new Doctor. AT MY LAST VISIT: - After waiting an hour, was seen by the Nurse not the Dr. I was dehydrated from throwing up the day before. Nurse went to get the Dr. b/c she felt I needed to bee seen by her & the ENTIRE OFFICE STAFF WAS GONE! She pages Dr. Jackson who says "She was called away on an emergency." Where was the rest of the staff? - So the Nurse says, "Well let me see if they have your urine test results." She couldn't find the urine sample. IT HAD BEEN THROWN IN THE TRASH CAN - UNOPENED!!!! - She comes back and is upset & apologizing. Then goes through my chart and informs me my glucose test was almost borderline. THOSE RESULTS HAD COME IN A MONTH EARLIER! WHY was I not informed of this? - When Dr. Jackson calls back to tell me she was called away, she says to come back Friday for make sure I've gained weight. I call the office the next day to confirm. I ask them if they know what happend with... Read more

If you are reading the reviews please listen and do not put yourself thru any pain-STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE!!! It will cause you nothing but regret and problems that you do not need thru your pregnancy. I only meet with Dr. Jackson twice after being a patient for 7 months-each time I meet with her she was always in a hurry-never answering my questions and leaving me feeling upset. The nurse at the office is very nice, but at some point you want to get to know your doctor. The office manager is the WORST-very Rude, never understanding her own job duties and can have a very BAD attitude at times. I had the same billing issues as the previous review states-they had me pay $500.00 deposit for NO REASON and after I talked to my insurance I was not suppose to pay. So now I am going to have to go into battle to get my $$ back. Luckily I found a new docotor (7 months into my pregancy) Dr. Lilly Lee she is great. After I told Dr. Jackson that I would no longer be a patient she beg... Read more

I was and am not happy with my care at Dr.Gail jacksons office. Her staff, one lady in particular, is really difficult to deal with. A few of the others ladies who work in the office seem nice but i am getting tired of repeating myself and getting ignored when I have concerns, and there are many! I hardly ever get informed about what is going on unless I make a point of asking at which case I feel they are not receptive to this, seeming annoyed and often forgetting things. I never get asked if I have questions or concerns and always feel rushed and often ignored. To top it all off my husband and i have had serious billing issues with them which has become REALLY frustrating being that we actually had to get out insurance representative to call the office and explain as the office staff was unable to understand what we were saying insisting we were wrong...we weren't. No apology was made after that even though they were wrong and had caused a day of back and forth on the phone for my hu... Read more

One simple yes regarding premarital relations with my then-boyfriend brought out the horns in this vixen. She asked, "When's the wedding?" to which I stupidly explained we were waiting until he graduated law school. Then, she told me he was using me and would drop me for a more educated woman. I bawled the entire session and cried my way home. Alas... Three years later we're happily married and I've told everyone to stay far away from this judgemental doctor.

Friendly nurses, but I had to wait 3 very long hours for the doctor to show because she had to do a C-section during my appointment. My mother set up a separate appointment with her as well, and she also had to wait very long because the doctor was at a delivery during her appointment. This is absolutely ridiculous. When I came to see her, she didn't even stay longer than 5 minutes. When she quickly dismissed herself out of the room, I followed her to ask her a simple question about sexual intercourse during pregnancy, and she seemed uncomfortable with the topic and told me to speak with a nurse and to read some useless papers about FAQ during pregnancy. I found this unhelpful because I know most women would be much more comfortable speaking personally to a doctor about their concerns. She did not seem concerned, and I felt extremely rushed. It was my very first prenatal appointment, and I expected a lot more. I know she is very busy along with her staff, however, if you want better c... Read more

I called to make my appointment on July 2,2007 thinking that i wouldn't be able to be seen until the middle or maybe the end of the month and her (Dr Jackson) staff put me in for Friday the 6th. That made me feel so special. Then on Thursday I got a phone call to remind me that my appointment will be the next day, which was great because my last doctor would never call to remind you. Well today is Friday the 6th of July and I was seen by Dr Jackson within 30 mins tops. Dr Jackson is so sweet she talked to me like a person not like her income which is outstanding to me. She took her time and explained so many things to which i needed to know so I can make it over the weekend without breaking down. I have made up my mind that i will never see another male OB/GYN again. Dr Jackson will be my OB/GYN for LIFE. Thank You so much Dr. Jackson for everything

I hate to leave a bad review but... This place is not run so well. Firstly, I had an appointment for 9am, I didn't get seen until 10:30 am. Threw my whole morning off. The waiting room was packed with patients in the same predicament. When I finally was seen, I did not even see a doctor, I saw a nurse. The nurse was great and very competent but I don't feel I should be charged for seeing a doctor when I saw a nurse. Of course there was no reflection on my bill that said "exam by nurse" so I assume I was charged the full amount. Curious I called to find out, their billing department is awful. I couldn't get in touch with anyone. Finally I got a man who barely speaks English and will "call me back". I have not received a call. The bill was received a few weeks ago, the appointment was last year. I have received bills from external an laboratory where they did not provide my insurance information even though I know they have it on file. I asked for an explaination of services provided so ... was referred to dr. jackson by a friend (also a doctor). so i decided to try her out with my first pregnancy. what a mistake. i wished i had read these reviews first. if you're looking for personal service or attention, go someplace else. the wait time is horrible, the office staff is inept (they give attitude, leave you on hold, or just refer you to someone else to get rid of you). plus, dr. jackson only delivers the baby. nurses and nurse practicioners do everything else. you're rushed in, rushed out. you're lucky if you get five minutes of face time. they don't tell you what they're doing. they don't ask you if you have any questions. they don't explain anything. the first time they did the babies heartbeat, they didn't even tell me what was going on. my husband came along and could have come inside to hear, but since they didn't tell me what they were doing, HE MISSED IT, SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM. just another typical LA doctor and office - rude, superficial, and ... You can cut down your wait time by giving the office a call before your appointment. Her nurse works so hard to keep the office running. Her new office manger Patricia is learning everything she needs to know for the medical office. She took care of me for my first born when i was attended into Cedars for Preterm Labor Dr. Jackson delivered my first born

Dr. Jackson oversaw my pregnancy and with it being my first baby I expected a little more attention. She is a very very busy doctor so she is not always able to give the attention you may need. Questions may go unanswered, you will wait a long time, and you will feel rushed. I have a friend who also went to her and felt the same way. Her nurses are very nice, but I was very disappointed by the whole experience.

I have no idea where these negative reviews are coming from! One thing to think about: the doctor patient relationship requires patience, understanding, and cooperation from BOTH parties. Just something to think about... As a medical student going into Ob-Gyn, I am very aware of the indications for certain procedures and have experienced many rude, arrogant and incompetent physicians. Dr. Jackson is the first OB-Gyn in YEARS that has the perfect blend of knowledge, compassion, and patience. When I visited Dr Jackson I was there under pretty scary circumstances and she and her staff were extremely comforting and slowly explained all of my options. I felt the office feeling informed, empowered, and calm. My suggestion for patients that may be interested in taking Dr Jackson on as their Ob-Gyn would be to meet her for yourself and take these negative reviews for a grain of salt. She knows her stuff!

I was having my prenatal care with Dr. Jackson but I would have to wait moere than an hour to just see her for literally 2 minutes. Sometimes my bloodpressure was not even taken and that is one of the things that should be monitored on a regular basis whem you are pregnant. Dr. would walk out of the office and I would have to ask her questions and tell her how I was feeling yet nobody would even ask me nor give me a chance to express it.

This was my first Visit and the wait was a little longer than I expected. The waiting room was overflowing and some of us had to wait in her office to be seen. Maybe that's because she's supposed to be that good :-). I have at least 5 friends who go to Dr Jackson and rave about the care they receive. I liked her but I felt a little rushed. She did call with my lab results within 2 week and seemed very nice. I have a follow up in a week or so and will know more then.

Office staff is way too busy, therefore the office is very disorganized. Takes 2-3 weeks to get lab results. Office is too small and appointments always get backed up that they dont know where to put patients to wait. Doctor was recommended to me because she had a good reputation but the 3 times I have been there, I have had to repeat myself. Thus treatment can be fragmented. This is for GYN services..maybe she is better with Obstetrics?
