There is a Sunday brunch for $29, which is an amazing setup. Salmon, crab legs, oysters, great crepes and omlettes, all kinds of stuff. Right next to the water with nice views as well.

Food quality isn't as good as it used to be. Clam chowder has no clams or clam flavor - it's more like potato soup. The cooks try to be too trendy - more interested in "presentation" that a pleasant meal. Several days ago for lunch I had salmon with mashed sweet potatoes. The salmon was on top of the potatoes instead of on the plate. Why would anyone want the salmon coated with potatoes? Several weeks ago I had an open faced crab sandwich without any crab, it was just white sauce over toast. Ivar must be turning over in his grave.

This is a happy hour worth going to. Great drinks, good food, and cheap prices! Definitly give it a try. Bonus, we drive right up on our boat and there is typically plenty of dock space.

This a such a great place to enjoy seattle summer...now that we have some warm weather. I have been hitting up there brunch lately and you can't beat it with a bloody mary on a Sunday. if you can get out on the patio then go for it so then you can have the boats going by as you eat.

I love Ivar's clam chowder and yes there are many other places to get good chowder, but no other place with this kind of on the water dining. It gets a little crowded but well worth the wait to sit outside and enjoy the view. And if your their for happy hour, eat everything.

This place used to have the best salmon in town. I've ordered the salmon and it just isnt as good as it used to be. I ve had to change to halibut. The outdoor seafood bar also changed the fresh salmon and it is worse than what was served when the price was 3 dollars less a few months ago. They say its an upgrade in quality but I disagree

My parents were visiting from out of town and I brought them to Ivar's for some authentic Pacific Northwest seafood. The food was okay (if overpriced), but the terrible customer service was what ruined our experience. Our dinner lasted over two hours due to an inattentive waiter, and we never did receive the drink refills we repeatedly asked for. To top it off, the waiter billed us incorrectly, and, a month later, we are still waiting for the mistake to be remedied on our credit card! This place may be okay for happy hour, but avoid the indoor restaurant!

In Short Residents bring guests here because the restaurant is so representative of the Seattle area's past. Housed in a replica of an Indian longhouse and decorated with dugout canoes, Salmon House provides visitors with Native American artifacts, a stellar waterfront view and of course, seafood. Salmon and black cod are broiled over a smoky alder fire and served with corn bread. Entrees include pasta and seafood, plus fried halibut or cod and french fries.

I've been going to Ivar's Salmon House for my entire life. The happy hour is awesome, 7 days a week, twice a day for 2 hours. The salmon tacos and salmon skewers are a great snack on the cheap!

Ivar's Salmon House has the best happy hour in Seattle! The Whalemaker Lounge is the home of some interesting artifacts. Ask one of the servers to point out the "Whalemakers" to you when you go!

This place is worth a special trip. They have it all - great view, wonderful ambience, and of course wonderful salmon. My waiter helped me choose just the right kind of salmon - cooked to perfection, and the meal was topped with a wonderful dessert. This is a great romantic place - don't do Seattle without eating here.

I love Ivars. It's the best seafood restaraunt in the world. It has fresh salmon all the time. I personally hate salmon but i love it at ivars. You should try it.

Ivar's Salmon House is fantastic! The all you can eat Sunday brunches are great (especially with the recently reduced price) for when you want to spend a couple hours overindulging yourself. Try to get a seat by the window, the view is lovely and people watching will pass the time while you get ready for your third helping of yummy brunch. Dinner is great as well, the smoked salmon is perfectly done. Service is attentive, friendly and helpful. Parking is good with small lot next to the restaurant and another just across the street.

Have visited this place before but always ordered from the outdoor takeout window - their aldersmoked salmon plate is a bargain. We finally ate at the restaurant and it is a nice place to take visitors for the ambiance, but the food is just so-so. I ordered the white salmon and it was a bit overcooked. The special was the Columbia river salmon which was a lot better probably because it was "fresh" as the waiter mentioned the other fish are "fresh frozen".

We had a wonderful early Sunday dinner at Ivar's Salmon House. There is even place where patrons can view the wood barbeque pits. The cooks were very friendly and asked us to stop by after dinner to chat some more, give them feedback. We'll be back. This would be a good place to bring out of town guests.
