It's hard to beat Italian food, especially pasta and pizza. I especially like lasagna and spaghetti, they are favorite food to eat, now and and then.

If I had to pick one type of food for the rest of my life. . .by a hair, it's Italian. . .

Have never been to Italy so I'm guessing that most of the Italian cuisine I've ever had is somewhat Americanized. But still, as a class of cuisine, it is my all time favorite. I'm fortunate to have a great hole in the wall family owned Italian restaurant in my city which outdoes all of the major chain Italian restaurants.

My favorite, varied and delicious, though some of it is really heavy and nap-inducing. It's generally best to go to the source, like the cuisine of most cultures. In other words, it almost invariably is better to go to Italian neighborhoods, like Little Italy in New York or The North End in Boston than somewhere in East Bum****, Iowa. The same way you get better seafood in the Northeast than in the Midwest, or better fruit in California or the South, or better steaks in the West or Midwest than the Northeast.

I love Italian food, I could live on it and be happy. From pasta to pizza to tortelloni to tiramisu, it's all wonderful. It's also very easy to make your own pasta at home as a quick easy meal.

Italian food is much more than pizza and pasta. In Northern Italy sauces are more cream based and food not as spicy, while further south, tomato's and garlic play a more important role. I myself love Southern Italian food, the spicier and more garlicky the better. Pizza is still very popular in Italy, but it is not the Americanized version we have here with all the toppings like Hawaiian pizza, Taco pizza etc. Pizza in Italy, done right, is simple, with just a thin crust, a little sauce, fresh cheese and basil, delicious !!!!!

I love italian food... BUT.... the thing is, that it doesn't have much variety. Everything looks red white and green! Most of it is bread with tomato sauce and some ground beef. Pizza as americans know it was actually invented in new york. In italy, it's just some bread with suce and a block of cheese on top, nothing special. The taste of course, is excellent but I can't get over the fact that evrything on the menu is the same except for it's shape. Why are there so meny types of pastas when they really taste the same. If you are looking for good food, go to spain or moroco. There you will find alot of variety.

I could eat Italian every day of the week. I love the cheeses, red sauce, olive oil, pasta, and of course lots of garlic. The best is when your having dinner at an Italian family's household. You can never get enough of it and they see to it. As if that wern't enough their desserts and pastries are to die for as well.

Any cuisine that prides itself on using excessive amounts of garlic in practically everything is fine by me. Italian cuisine provides a wide variety of choices and always makes for a tasty meal.

Sam needs to expand his horizons. I grew up with the aroma of fresh crushed garlic, simmering sauce, and melted cheeses wafting through the house, and I wouldn't trade it for almost anything. Wonderful recipies. :)

From authetic pizza's to numerous types of pasta, lasagne and spaghetti bolognese it's all incredibly tasty and filling food. Added parmesan is a must to compliment these delights.

The most diverse variety of any cuisine. Rich, with a spectrum of flavors. I had the opportunity to live in Italy for a year and sample some wonderful dishes like gnocchi, Naples-style pizza (wood-fire cooked and a thin delicious crust), and delicious seafood dishes. The pizza in Italy is far superior to anything you can get in the states. Surprosingly, I never found a place that served ravioli. Italian food, when done right, is the best.

Have you actually tasted food from other countries than italian? its virtually the blandest food of them all. it is by far the most overrated food. its a pity, because all you guys believing italians know how to cook, are missing out on the rest. they can't cook worth shit.

I love Italian foods. Im actually considering opening an Italian restraunt later in my life. My favorite food if a Large Pepperoni + Green Pepper Pizza. Spaghetti and Meatballs is a classic in my home. Raviolli's are not by all means my best pick, but still acceptable. Garlic Bread goes really good with almost any Pasta dish.

Pasta, pasta, pasta . . . a simple meal with great possibilities. Ravioli, Lasagna, and plain old simple spaghetti . . . there's just nothing like a bowl of pasta with a side of garlic bread.

Mmmm, what could be better than a big plate of steaming hot spaghetti and garlic bread or thick lasagne or creamy fettucine? I have to say, though, that I like the American version of pizza much better than the Italian version. Why? Because in Italy, they don't put tomato sauce on their pizza. Pizza tastes completely different with just cheese and crust, but they do add meat and vegetables. The piece of true Italian pizza I had was full of spinach, whole tomatoes and cucumber. I guess it was okay, but I just couldn't get used to it. Give me Fazoli's or Pizza Hut anytime!

In the past I might've agreed with Ruby, but now I utterly love Italian. Its rich and hearty and still always tasty. Italian I'd say is probably the most perfected cuisine in Europe and the rest of the Mediterranean region

Each Region has its own cusine, I'm not just talking about pasta. I like Lombardese, piedmont, venetian (bland, hot and saurcy), emelian (Lasangia, Parmasan cheese), Northern and Central have some similarity with French just much better coffee, Southern some similarities with Greek. I also like roman, bruzes, neapolitan (pizza & seafood), tuscan is not to bad. I don't like sicilian and pulian as these are to acrid and spicy.

Oh, my God, I love Italian food! This is by far my favorite cuisine Nothing too spicy for my tatebuds to handle, yet nothing ever has a dull taste either. I love Italian pizzas...in fact, I find them preferable to American pizza. Spaghetti is an old family favorite, and it's one of the few things I can actually cook (note to all future chefs: experimenting with spaghetti sauce is fun. Put leeks and zucchini in it; delicious!). Shrimp scampi has always won me over, as has just about anything with shrimp in it. That sauce is just a flavor from heaven. Another Italian dish I tend to enjoy is alfredo...I'm not known to be a big fan of cheese (no, that's an understatement, I hate cheese) but you can hardly taste any one thing in that dish if the alfredo is cooked well. I would trade you the Mona Lisa for a plate of the Olive Garden's seafood alfredo, without hesitation. All in all, this isw the best food in the world, and anyone who lives in Italy is lucky, very lucky! Take care,... Read more

One of the most incredible dishes I have ever eaten was a northern Italian woman's homemade baked ziti. It was many years ago but I still remember how good it tasted. I can only kick myself again for not getting the recipie!

Italian food is very overrated. They stole pasta from the Chinese for one. It is very fatty and laden with grease. This is not always bad. I just am a bit angered that some of the reviewers have never had actual Italian food, but the Americanized version. I do have to give a shout out to Cannolis though, gotta love em'.

The most over-rated cusisine in America. I guess it's nice that everyone can find something acceptable on an Italian menu, but there's very little ZING there that makes you happy. For me, I gravitate to the pesto dishes, which I really do love. But let's just say that if you take Ruby someplace, and serve him some spaghetti noodles with some Prego on it, he'll act polite but he'll be dreaming of the burrito down the block.

Spaghetti has always been one of my favorite dishes.I have a couple Italian cuisine restaurants I like to visit.I love eating authentic Italian food.such as lasagne,Fettucine,Pizza. I love pasta anyway and so many of the Italian dishes has pasta.I can see why it is a popular cuisine of food.

How could you not love some type of Italian food? In my opinion, Italian cuisine is the best in the entire world. If you can't actually go to Italy itself, an exquisite area in New York City is Little Italy. You will enjoy any dining experience there.

Italian food is my favorite because there are just so many different things you can do with pizza and pasta, and being a college student, I really need stuff that's cheap, but can be used in a variety of recipes. I can have macaroni and tomato sauce Monday night, cheese pizza on Tuesday night, bruchetta (sp) on Wednesday night, and so on.
