I remember my mom buying this when I was a kid in the 80's and back then it never bothered me but flash forward twenty some odd years later and it drys me out so bad my tounge found itself licking my backbone for moisture. The smell also reminds me of the little stinky pine tree fresheners tacky people put on their rear view mirrors. If you want to smell like a tree and have skin as tight as bark go with Irish Spring...cause remember kiddies " The Irish Never Quit"...itching that is.

I bought Irish Spring during 1980s. It used to be in black package with small green clover leaves on it. it smelled really great. It even reminded me of English bar soap" Shield". In the mid 1990s the scent of the soap was changed. it still was great. Now, the scent is not as long lasting as it used to be. The major reason is that majority of American soaps are synthetic. They do not have natural ingredients to keep aroma for a long time(e.g. Rose oils that keep aroma for hours). The soap is a complete synthetic staff. That's why you get dry skin. If you want good soap that really smells great and has a long lasting aroma, try "FA " products.

My favorite soap ever!! I love the Original and The Moisture Blast. Lathers well, smells great, I feel clean after I shower. I have been using Irish Spring ever since I was a little kid. I have used Safeguard and Dial soap however, and stopped using them because of that harsh ingredient (triclocarban) which is very bad for us and may cause cancer. That's what I have been told so be careful to the people that use that soap. :)

Irish Spring is one of my favorite soaps. Mainly because I thoroughly enjoy the smell and it feels quite silky! While I dont use bar soap as much as I used to, when I do, I rely on Irish Spring.

I gave this 2 stars solely because I think it's an OK soap for guys to use for a masculine scent that lingers after a shower. However, I do not like using this for myself! It's a rather harsh soap and the scent is just way too potent for me in the shower. It says it's a "family soap," but I'd change that to dads and brothers only!

I tried this product and within the next 24 hours my skin started turning red. I didn't think anything of it, but it has gotten worse and is starting to itch. This soap is not for people who have sensitive skin, since it will give you a rash. Other than that it was a good product. I love the smell and hate that I have to discontinue use. This would be a great product if they made a brand for people with sensitive skin.

Usually has a good scent, only thing is it doesn't last long. The Aloe bar is good, too.

Fine product if you don't have sensitivity issues. I no longer use it but it was quite effective in keeping armpit odors subdued for a longer period than with regular soaps.

This is, in my opinion, one of the best bar soaps I have ever tried. The smell is great (original) and I feel extremely clean when I come out of the shower because it is in fact a deodorant soap, not just a regular soap. This stuff does its job. I just really like the fact that it's a deodorant soap, and ofcoarse the awesome smell. Alot of people's only complaint is that it might dry your skin, but it does not in my case. Excellent product! Update: Recently they have pulled a sneaky way of ripping off their customers in which they reduced the size of the bar from 4.5 oz. to 4.0 oz. The same thing has happened to Dial. I don't know if it is the economy recently, but this is a sneaky way of thinking their customers are stupid. The product is great, but their company can go screw themselves.

I hate to say this but I actually am not too impressed with this brand of bar soap. It dries out my skin and the scent just doesn't last very long at all - unless if you hardly rinse it off after soaping up. It isn't the worst out there by any means though!

I LOVE how my hubby smells when he uses this soap. I have to buy it online now b/c they came out with the new microclean bar and noone is carrying the sport anymore. If anyone knows a store that is still carrying it, let me know!

I just got finished using Irish Spring Icy Blast and I really like  it. It has a strong scent. I don't mean that in a bad way because it has a fresh scent that was strong enough to last all day when I'm working. I totally agree that the bar lathered well and lasted quite a while.

I have no idea why, but it's the only product of this kind that I ever use.  Maybe it's the name.  It doesn't get any better than Spring in Ireland, does it?  No complaints about the product.  Best soap I've ever tried (of a handful or so).  It takes awhile for the bar to be used up, though it produces plenty of lather.  Doesn't disintegrate or melt away easily, like most others do.

I've been using Irish Srping as long as I can remember (I'm 32). The smell makes the product. Keeps me clean and leaves a slight, but not too strong fragrance on your body. Better than the body wash in my opinion.

We bought that new stuff with the microbes....works pretty well. We've always used irish spring (me, bro and dad), but lately I've tried switching to the body wash stuff bc that has a better clean and lasts longer. Either way, this has beaten out dial for men (blows hardcore). dove and several others I've tried.

OK I have waited 20 something years for a body wash or women's deodorant with the great smell of Irish Spring. I also e-mailed the company to ask why they didn't have these products on the market. Well wouldn't you know I finally saw in my newspaper coupons for deodorants with the Irish Spring scent. I got SO EXCITED. I saw the Speed Stick for men and thought when I turn the page one will be there for women. Guess what? The men win again. You know I will now run out to buy a few of these for my husband, but of course I am going to try it. I hope they make a body wash and deodorant for Women soon.

The scent of the original irish spring is Wonderful, but i cannot use this soap, due to the harsh ingredients in it, it dries my skin especially my hands, they used to have a hand liquid soap that smelled just like the bar, i loved that hand wash liquid soap, i even used it for my body and it did Extremely well, I wish colgate-palmolive company would bring back this liquid soap, it was the best!!!! There original bar is too strong for my skin, i love the scent but hate what the soap does to my skin!!!!

I have always liked the scent of this product. I'm surprised that they haven't used the Irish Spring scent in more men's products.(I do remember the shaving creme.)

I have to say that I actually love the smell of Irish Spring. The smell makes you feel clean and revitalized...but I DO agree that it dries your skin out a lot.

Hmmm...I didn't realize Irish Spring was such a controversial topic. Of all the forums for a flame war, it has to be this one? The things that tick people off...

I like its sharp vibrant scent. Although its scent is pretty powerful, its mild enough for women to use. Overall, it makes me feel invigorated and clean. UPDATE: Ralphthewonderllama's comment about me in his review of Irish Spring is like most of his comments: not funny. That he would stoop to say such a thing says a lot more about him than it does about me.

With the exception of how bad this soap can dry out your skin, it really cleans well and has a wonderful scent. I think it smells really good when a man uses this soap, it seems to mix well with the natural masculine scent of a man...good soap !

It's very mosit, not dry, and has a great odor. You will feel fresh and clean when you walk out of the shower. I recommend the Aloe soap out of all of them.

It smells great, it doesnt smell strong at all!! The only one that smells strong is irish spring SPORT, but the original and anti-bacterial ones work wonders. After a 12 hour shift of waiting tables and sweating, I still feel fresh. It is the only soap I use.

Yeah, it's got a strong smell, but it's not unpleasant, either. It's very refreshing, and it doesn't dry out my skin.

Being a child of the '70s I automatically associate this soap with that Irish guy strolling around in some meadow next to a waterfall, whistling, however, as a child, this soap caused an allergic reaction with me. Therefore, I am not a fan..the smell is too much and it is just too harsh for my skin (and I do not have ultra sensitive skin) however I had to give it 2 stars due to that excellent albeit annoying marketing that I just can't seem to shake!

I really hate the smell of this stuff…a bit too much like the piney woods. It may be decent deodorant soap but I don't think I really want to smell this way. Manly yes … and as far as I'm concerned, the guys can have it.
