I still remember watching these cartoons during the summer of 1984. I loved watching these shows. It was about Inspector Gadget, a girl named Penny and her dog who was named Brain. Penny was Gadget's niece and she lived with him. Gadget was sent on missions. But it was Penny who always defeated Doctor Claw. She got help from her dog and her computer book. Penny and Brain did all of the work and Gadget always got the credit. This show ran from 1983-1986. There were 86 episodes. Inspector Gadget was voiced by Don Adams. Penny was voiced be Cree Summer in the first season. Holly Berger replaced Cree Summer in the second season. These shows were great. But whoever created Corporal Capeman, must have been sniffing glue. Thank God that he was only in a few episodes of the 2nd season. I give Inspector Gadget a 5 star rating.

I remember watching this show as a tiddler, sat on my families comfy couch completely glued to the screen. It was enthralling stuff and I now happen to collect the DVD's and merchandise. 5 out of 5. Top dog.

One of my favorite cartoons of all time. I used to watch this every morning during summer vacations. I remembered Inspector Gadget being a clumsy airhead and his daughter and Brain, the dog, always helping him out along. There was always a little joke at the end of the show and Brain and the girl would always crack up.

One of the best catroon shows made in the 80s. It allways cracked me up when Brain allmost gets killed when he goes and helps out Gadget. The movie versions sucked.

I used to love Inspector Gadget as a kid, but looking back on that cartoon now as an adult I now see how patronising this TV show was. Some small flaws such as Gadget never being able to recognise his own dog whenever Brain was in disguise, Penny understanding every single last word when Brain spoke taking into consideration he was a dog, never being able to see Dr Claw except his evil cat and his glove and Chief Quimby always getting blown up by one of Gadgets gadgets. It was harmless fun and apart from a few flaws it's a lot better than some of the kids cartoons they show today.

Inspector Gadget is one of the best cartoons ever. I haven't seen an episode in years but being a child of the 80's, my best times were of course spent watching cartoons. I enjoyed this one so much, I'd watch it every day I came home from school. He would say things like Go Gadget Hands or Go Gadget Arms. I liked Brain the dog too. He couldn't talk or anything but was useful to Penny when she had to bail her goofy uncle out of his many mishaps. Cool, cool cartoon.

Why in the first episode did he have a mustache on? Also, what happened to this guy, did he volunteer to be turned into a cyborg or is this like "Amanda and Gunn" where Penny and Brain are watching this guy and reporting back to the government. Don Adams should have played Gadget in the movie though (it would have been bigger than Shrek).

one of the best cartoons and the music rocks! but penny should've got props she always had to save the day with Brain(the dog). Picking up the pieces of a failing man as per usual, and the dog being smarter than the man, typical! :P

The neverending quest of Inspector Gadget to defeat evil. This story is timeless. Callmetootie has been naughty. Tootie needs to be disciplined.

This cartoon is too hilarious. Same plot and same things always happen. Man,if only Chief Quimby wasn't as dumb as gadget, he would have replaced him with Penny and Brain a loooong time ago. Still this is a classic, and can be watched all the way through the end credits!

I grew up on this show. I used to think he was really smart, then I got older and realized he was more lucky then anything else. Shame you don't see it around anymore.

This show is the show I grew up watching. I loved each and every episode, always have, always will. Sill fun today. Inspector Gadget is too funny, Penny's adorable, and Brain's a riot too.

This one was exciting for me. The animation quality wasn't all that great. Hehe- the way they always hid Dr. Claw's face was good for me; I'm a sucker when it comes to seeing the monster's face, so at least this show taught me that you can't always get what you want. Always clever adventures with Inspector Gadget.

The movie totally ruined the cartoon which wasn't that good in the first place.

I hate how it's the same daughter and dog save the day and gadget gets the credit.

The Inspector is the MAN! Inspector Gadget, in almost every show, goes on a mission that Penny, his neice, and Brain, his dog, sneak along with him. Though the good Inspector always means well, and always has his mission first on his mind, he is not very observant. MAD, the criminal agency run by the unseen Dr. Claw, has his henchmen do dirty deeds like sink an island or "urge" billionaires to hand over their fortunes. The Inspector himself would never spot a MAD agent in uniform right in front of his nose--the work of cracking the case is done by his neice, Penny, whilst Brain is always there to save the Inspector from the MAD agents. The hilarious show SHOULD get 5 starts, but I had to knock it down because the quality of the writig took a big nosedive in the second season of the show. Still very worth watching the original 64 shows!
