I see a lot of people saying their puppies have loose stools on Innova. We switched recently got a 10 week old pug who was being fed Iams Puppy Food. I bought him Innova Puppy Food and made the mistake of immediately switching him over. He had very loose stools! So then I added back in some Iams and slowly weened him off Iams and onto Innova over the course of this past week. His stool was healthy looking and not too hard but not loose either. I also fed him too much one time and he had loose stool again. But now that I've slightly reduced the amount his stool is perfect again. LOL! He seems very playful and alert. Not any more gassy than usual. He poops less and takes longer to have to go poop, than when he was on Iams. So I would say that if your dog is having loose stools on Innova, you may have switched him too fast or you are feeding him too much. This is an AWESOME food! It does have flaxseed in it, which some dogs are allergic to. If this doesn't work, try Innova's California Na... Read more

Wow, are we pleased!!! We had our Saint Bernard puppy on Blue Buffalo large breed puppy ever since we phased it in after bringing her home from the breeder. She was having frequent bouts of diarrhea and we couldn't figure out why. I couldn't imagine that it could be caused by the food because of its high quality. I wouldn't knock the Blue Buffalo, but it obviously was NOT for our dog. Anyway, finally, after all kinds of blood work, x-rays, etc., we decided to try another food, and decided to go with Innova large breed puppy. In *2 days* Molly was having the best poops of her young life. She's thriving on this food and she LOVES it. Give it a try!

I adopted my Great Pyrenees from rescue and her coat was a mess, she was underweight, etc. This is the best food for my adult Great Dane. Tried Pro Plan, Eukanuba, Iams. I have used lots of expensive dog food like solid gold, science diet and so on and none have been as good as Innova.

have to give it one star. caused liquid poop for days, even in very small amounts mixed with regular food. my terrier mix could never tolerate this stuff. loves orijen/wellness/barking at the moon. i think she put it together that this was not agreeing with her as she wouldnt even eat if any was mixed with her regular food within a few days. took a few days to get her back to normal. waited a few weeks, tried again, same bad results.

I am absolutely delighted with this dog food. All three of my dogs are on it - the young active dog (Australian Shepherd) is on Embark and the two older, less active dogs (Min L/H Dachshunds) are on Verve. Previously, I had a lot of trouble feeding the Aussie - he would get sick a lot, we never went more than a week without some sort of digestive upset. Now he's on Embark, he's had no problems for months. All three of the dogs look great, many people have commented how well they look and how shiny their coats are, and they seem to have much more energy. Highly recommended!

Really good food to start a puppy on dry food as the first three ingredients are meat products. Also does not hate the Beet junk and all the corn and bad fillers. This is a good choice to get you puppy off to a healthy start,

Innova was my 6 month old Boxer's savior. He was suffering from terrible diarrhea and ultimately blood in his stools from Wellness (this is a great food, just not right for my dog) and Innova puppy food brought him back to happy and healthy in all measures in a matter if a day or two. Well priced, low hype and extremely high quality, I think you'd be hard pressed to feed your puppy anything better unless you have access to Orijen, which seems to be the absolute tip top of dry dog feeds. If you have a Boxer or a dog with a sensitive stomach I recommend you try Innova before Wellness. Read the wellness posts and you'll find many with the same problems I had. I also recommend you go to http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com and look for a food that has the appropriate nutrients for your particular breed. Then come back here and compare that food against the experiences that people have had actually feeding it to their dogs.
