Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I will never get my hours back... A part of me died watching this movie. I've seen some bad movies in my day, including Rubberface... yeah, this one was bad. Don't ask why I watched Rubberface. I'm just using it as an example in comparison to how bad i felt indy 4 was. If you buy the movie, might i suggest using it as a door stop.

One of the most disappointing films that I have ever paid money to see at the theater. After years and years of anticipation, all the hype that was building up to the release and the end result was mediocre. It pales in comparison to the original three films in every way imaginable. "The Crystal Skull" was like a cross between "National Treasure" and "X-Files" - which was not what I was expecting. For some reason, it was like watching a made for TV movie. I'll probably end up watching it again when it's released on DVD - I hope that the second viewing is better than the first.

Ive never seen this movie so i'm just gonna give it a random rating... No just kidding i saw it. It was a very fun movie and i stayed true to the Indiana Jones spirit, but aliens?! Aliens?! Dude! not cool man. Katherine Hepburn is probably turning over in her grave right now. And a refigerator doesnt protect you from a nuclear explosion. i tried it in my back yard and i died. Still worth seeing though.

This film is definitely better than Temple of Doom in my opinion, but not as good as Raiders or Last Crusade. Unfortunately this film did not sit well with critics or many of the fans due to the "aliens" which are not actually aliens but inter-dimensional beings - in other words they're like "sliders". I did think this was a little silly, and people have been saying that it's absurd and is typical of George Lucas, but what people have to remember is that every other Indy film has used the paranormal in the form of the Ark of the covenant, the idols, and the Holy Grail. I think the real problem here is that people can more readily believe preposterous religious stories of drinks that can people alive for centuries and arks which can boil the blood of people who look upon it, but not equally silly stories of beings from parallel worlds. Talk about flogging the dead Palomino. What little charm was left in the original trilogy of films is entirely absent here, and while its a competently made film, it is manifestly dull, and absurdly contrived even by the standards of Indiana Jones movies.

For a general action movie, it was pretty good. But for an Indiana Jones movie, it fell a little short. Indiana Jones movies always have more than a fair share of supernatural elements, but for some reason bringing aliens into the mix was a bit much for me.

Far, far better than the two previous sequels but still nothing more than a faint grasp at trying to recapture the magic of the original film.  The story is entirely formula driven and in the service of moving the characters along the continuum to the next big action sequence.For a big budget movie by A-list film makers it suffers from some surpising glaring gaffes in continuity and presentation.  It makes one wonder if after a decade of planning, preparation and deal making to get the film on the summer release schedule, they didn't eventually loose their drive and interest and decide to just get the thing in the can and out to the theatres.

A Great movie, maybe not the best, actually, definitly not the best but still...

Not worth the $9 ticket price, maybe worth throwing a couple of bucks down when it hits rental. Romantic reunion with nods to the original storyline in movie 1, unfortunately characters far too old and scenes seemed awkward. Plot predictable and boring, action scenes reminiscent of a bad Mad Magazine spoof. Skip it, there are better ways to waste time.

One good action sequence. . .okay performances. . .and Ford looks like he's having fun, but I found it to be overrated by the critics and (quite frankly) the magic in the previous three films is painfully absent here.  And someone please arrest the drunk who crashed into Karen Allen's face.

I am an undead child of the Indiana Jones generation, but this one was released a little too late to be part of the series.  It was tough to think he is six years older than Sean Connery was, when he played Indy's father in The Last Crusade.  The story follows Indy and a high school dropout named, Mutt played by Shia Le Bouf.  They go in search for the Crystal Skull before the Russians led by Irina Spalko played by Cate Blanchett find it first.  It leads them through numerous over-the-top fights and car chases through the jungles of Peru with man-eating insects and a mustache twisting villain.  Actually I thought many of the action sequences were a little too over-the-top.  I enjoy great action films, but this one felt a little too unbelievable and at times hammy.  Almost as if they were set up as one action moment then another.  It was a pleasure to see Karen Allen back in the role as Marion Ravenwood, she gave the series closure in her and Indy's relationship.  The only issue is that... Harrison Ford was good, as he usually is, but there were countless farfetched and frankly, corny parts. For Spielberg and Lucas to have withheld and debated on the script for so long I felt it could have been far better. I was very let down to say the least. Barely 3 stars.

I saw this movie and thought it was a good film.  It was true to the spirit of the previous Indiana Jones movies.  I'd rank it as being quite a bit better than the third in the series, the "Last Crusade" movie, which I felt was disappointing.

This movie was bad and is an insult to the original Indiana Jones movies! The CGI was overdone and Harrison Ford was just too old for it! The ending was ridiculous as well. Maybe 10 years ago it would have been better but it was so disappointing!
