Tue Jun 23 2009Dave Lakhani's latest book delivers on the title's promise, and even reminded me of things I had completely forgotten about as an online marketer who is now selling every day. Most of us are selling like we did years ago, but those techniques just don't work in today's world, and especially in this economy. The book starts with a `Quick Start' guide. This consists of five days worth of strategic actions to get your momentum going. I'll be starting these on Monday morning, and have made two pages of notes to make sure I am on the right track for my business. Lakhani reminds us that "money follows action", and then proceeds to teach the readers what types of action to take. I like this `take responsibility and don't make excuses' approach to selling during any type of situation or economy. I had not heard anyone talk about Jugular's four cycles of business, and then explain this concept in such great detail, since I began selling real estate in the 1980's. He uses this as just one ... Tue Jun 23 2009Dave's book brings sales into the era of social media while remembering the core, age old sales skills that we all need to hang on to. Not only is the book written in a conversational style, it's chock full of actual "go-to" information. Many sales books give you ideas for how-to and what-to, but Dave's [ASIN:0470504897 How To Sell When Nobody's Buying: (And How to Sell Even More When They Are)]] gives you the actual web sites to visit and when applicaple, how much you can expect to spend. I've dog eared so many pages that the book has doubled in size and I'm only to chapter 5! When was the last time you bought a book that got bigger as you read it? Impressive! If you don't want to make changes and really apply your self, don't bother buying the book. If you really are a sales professional and love what you do, this book will be like a five course meal in a high class restaurant!

Sun Jun 21 2009I was getting close to reading the book until I made the mistake of listening to the video clip. Its probably just me that gets agitated when there is a strong message focused on hawking a book rather than helping fellow salespeople. Max

Fri Jun 19 2009How to Sell When Nobody's Buying begins like few books do. With *power.* Immediately the author presents to you technique after technique all of which have specific instructions and "how to's." That's the first 20 pages, and they are often clever, creative and innovative approaches at getting someone's business. The next chapter opens up with what I think is a mistake. The author basically says, "you probably bought this book because you are in a slump." OK, half of a mistake. A lot of people will be in sales slumps, but generally I find that people who read in general are better at what they do, more reliable, more intelligent and I submit that people picked this book up because they are familiar with the author and are ready for *more.* For example, Fearsome Focus, which is dealt with in the book, is the instructions on how to REALLY get things done. How to REALLY make progress. I like the authors 45/15 rule for focus. If the readers does JUST ONE THING after reading t... Read more

Fri Jun 19 2009I recently bought Dave Lakhani's "How to Sell When Nobody's Buying". At first I was skeptical, I thought this was going to be another one of those so called sales books that over promise and under deliver. Boy was I wrong!!! After flipping through the first few pages of this book I quickly realized how strategic this book was... I literally couldn't put the book down. It just got better and better. I thought to myself finally someone gets it. You know the feeling when you read a book and you say man this is what I have been looking for a long time. I knew about all the technologies but I just couldn't rap my head around how to use it to generate leads and new clients for my business. Well my friend... you have found it.. so what are you waiting for??? If you are in any sales profession ( which is everyone) I highly recommend you get this book right now. You will be glad you did!
