The " Arkansas" from his job description won't be there much longer if he doesn't get something going in Fayetteville.

Coach Nutt is the second best SEC active coach right now. Second only to Fat Fulmer, who nonetheless, has a lot more to work with than Houston and is doing crappy this year. Firing a man that has his heart and soul into the state and team; his motivation; recruiting has been better than any other Arkansas coach during the SEC era; and his offensive play-calling may not be the greatest but if you look at are offensive stats under his 8 years as coach you will find out that the offense has produced great numbers. He has had 3 9 win seasons, been to a bowl game 6 outta 8 years, and beat Texas two outta 3 times we played them. Once in the cotton bowl, the hogs blew them out in 2001, then in Austin we spanked the #4 Longhorns agains, and the lone lost came in Fayetteville 22-20, while Matt Jones fumbled on the 8-yd line, and a field goal would of sealed the game. He has done so much for this state, it's just that Little Rock schould be the home of the Hogs, not Fayetteville--fans suck up th... Read more

Houston Nutt is a joke and Arkansas will never be the great team it was until he leaves. Why can't he recruit? Can you even imagine talent like Bill Montgomery and Chuck Dicus coming to play for Nutt?

Houston Nutt is the worst play caller of all time. He either runs a half-back draw, or a one-route pass. I mean, we got Matt Jones, but that's all we have. And with new talent like Peyton Hillis and Marcus Monk, we better start winning games. If you can't call plays, you can't win, and if you can't win, you shouldn't get offered a 10-year contract. Curse the 10-year contract, curse bad play calling, and curse Houston Nutt. P.S. I know we've won games, but that was because Matt Jones in the fourth quarter. And everybody knows it.

He has done a very fine job in coaching teh talent he has. He has started getting the better players. I can not wait until he can get the total 25 recruit limit of players. Then we will see him shine even more.

Coach Nutt has taken the Razorbacks to a bowl game each year and is building a winning program. Each year the team is competitive even in rebuilding years like this one. The team is in great hands and the program will continue to improve under his leadership.

Good at using a rumor to up his contract at Arkansas, a slick customer in the from that state in the likes of Clinton, Jerry Jones and Barry Switze, need I say more! Anyone can win if thet do not follow on the rules!

Houston is a bad coach, plain and simple. I've been living in Fayetteville for his entire carreer. Top-notch facilities have bought Razorback fans an SEC record that is barely more than .500 under Nutt. Any attribution to lack of talent is crap; he's had six years, damnit!

Houston is a good coach, but not a great coach. On the upside, he is a good motivator, connects well with college kids, works hard, and loves the university. On the downside, he hasn't gotten his teams prepared for bowl games, hasn't brought enough great players in to get the program to the top, and is mediocre at calling plays.

Just what college athletics needs. A good person, good family man and a great coach. Success is measured by more than wins and losses. Coach Nutt is successful and has brought back Razorback football to highly regarded national recoginiton. There will be seasons with many wins and seasons with fewer wins, but the lessons he and his staff provide these young men is priceless. Thank you Coach Nutt! GO HOGS!!

With the lack of talent he has he was still able to compete in the SEC the last couple of years. He is one of the most underated coaches in college football. His only problem is recruiting and lack of NFL connection. Nick Saban is a better coach but also has more talent.

Coach Nutt may not be the best in the world but to say he is bad is stupid. Coach Nutt is just now starting to get all his players that he recruited on board. Coach Hatfeild left the program with the cupboard bare in the talent department. After that class left there was nothing there. Coach Ford did a fair job of recruiting but still could not get the big time players. Coach Nutt is beginning to turn that around. Give it time they will be there. And for those who like stats there are several and these are among them. Since 1998, best overall record western division, Arkansas 39-23 for a .629 percent win. Next closest, Alabama with 37-24 for .607 percent. The herald Alabama, Auburn, and LSU not so go huh. At least not the last five years. The most bowl appearances, not wins, but apearances, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee have 5. The herald Alabama, Auburn and LSU only have 3. Best home record in the SEC Arkansas 29-5 .853 percent. Next Tennessee 27-5 .843. The hera... Read more

With some improvement of listening to the advice of the other coaches on the field, and allowing the passing game to open up, he could be even a better coach. GO HOGS!!!

Very good motivator. Pretty good recruiter. Loves the State, School, & Program. Does need an Offensive Coordinator, both to let Nutt be the Head Coach on the sidelines, as well as to keep us on the game plan. We've discussed this ALOT at HogCall.com

Great motivator, decent recruiter, and mediocre at play calling and the X's and O's of football. BUT...he has more heart and pride for this state and team than any other coach in the country. His good nature and winning attitude are enough to rate this guy as one of the best in NCAA Football today. GO HOGS !!!

Needs to quit lying to players and fans. Open up the offense and quit running draw plays. An 8-year old Pee Wee football team's defense could figure out our offense, let alone a SEC defense!
