Thu Apr 30 2009I've always wanted a horse.

Mon Feb 09 2009I wouldn't want one as a pet but I do go horseback riding and I still love horses. First of all yes you really need a lot of space and time and extensive knowledge about their hoofs, what to feed them and all of their illnesses and especially their GIT. They get sick so easily, if they have grass that is more lush than they are used to they get Laminitis which will lead to their coffin bone rotating, and if you don't catch it in time they founder and the bone punctures through the hoof. So many things we give our horses like Vitamins and all that extra hoof care stuff they don't need and they just pee it out. I recommend taking Equine Science courses to enlighten yourself they just get sick and injured so easily. It is in your best interest and in the horses to learn about them before getting one. I used to want one since I was little but I took the courses and now it's just kind of like....yea no way not anymore. So if you have the money and space then they will make great pets. ... Read more

Tue Jul 15 2008ooo...ponies! I rode horses for a long time growing up, and I <3 them despite how horrifically impractical it would be to have one. I recommend leasing or training them for other people for anyone younger whose parents are practical enough not to buy one for their horse-crazy daughter.

Tue Jul 08 2008I believe this animal would have been a perfect specimen to have used for transportation before the invention of the car. I wonder why nobody thought of that?

Tue Jul 08 2008Big. Expensive. Large turds. Won't fetch. Can't take it on the subway if a vet visit is in order. Kinda below average for me. (Okay, you can ride it- that bumps it up one star.)

Tue Jul 08 2008way too expensive! LOL
by numbah16tdhaha
Tue Jul 08 2008Big upkeep, big turds as CS pointed out, not to mention that they are bitchy little things sometimes. I stay away from them and have yet to ride one.
