Thu Feb 04 2010I purchased a 1998 honda civic ex 6 months ago for $5000. It had 140,000miles on it but was told it had one owner and was in mint condition. After a test drive I noticed when I put on the brakes that it may have something wrong with the brakes. I was told it was I was not used to the car. I bought the car thinking that because it was from the dealership that they have had to checked the vehicle completely. I soon found out after 2 days of driveing it had nothing to do with me and it was the car and sure enough I took the car in and found that they changed the rkae pads but not the rotors and they were bad. I called and complained and they fixed them and I thought my problems were over. Now here it is 6 months later and the transmission is haveing problems. I take it back in to them and they said I need a new trasmission along with a whole list of problems. I was overwhelmed. I presumed that the car would at least last me a year. I dont drive crazy and take it easy on the car. They want... Read more

Sun Feb 15 2009Poor Customer Service from the Honda West Service Department: I've been going to Honda West for over 11 years and I purchased a 2004 Honda there. I telephoned the service department and made an appointment 2 weeks in advance to have a radio display repaired and to have intermediate level maintenance performed on my '04 Honda. It wasn't a burnt fuse, and I explained that the radio functioned normally except the clock, volume amount, and radio station failed to be displayed. American Honda Motor Company published a Service Bulletin that covers the dim or dark Audio/HVAC display. It is a common problem and the bulletin covers a huge range of affected VINs among 2003 and 2004 models. American Honda Motor Company increased the warranty to 7 years or 100000 miles on the audio unit display. The culprit is a latent failure on an associated electronic printed circuit board (PCB). The service bulletin also includes a simple step-by-step repair procedure with photos for the auto technician. I ... Read more

Fri Nov 16 2007Originally took my car in 5 mo ago and had to have cylinder replaced. When I got my car back, my car started overheating. I had to return it again for this problem they caused. Then they returned it to me again saying they fixed the overheating problem. I was stranded and had to have it towed 2 times after they returned it to me AGAIN for the overheating problem. Now, 5 mo later, my car overheats again. The hose they installed 5 mo ago is still under warranty, but they refuse to pay (saying the heat caused the hoses to explode. BS!). Service rep, Daniel Koneck & service manager, Wayne Kortlang, were completely rude and unethical. Daniel even sent away the tow truck I ordered to have my car picked up and sent to a different shop!!! I am now in mediation with Honda corporate and Honda West. I will NEVER take my car here again!!!

Wed Sep 06 2006My 2005 Pilot required LOF and a gasket replacement, which had come loose, on the rear reflector lip of the windshield. A Thursday 9:00 am call to their local number for a scheduled service appointment ruined my day! Just couldn't get through. Recording after recording. I couldn't even get through for mthem to extend me the courtesy of a call back! Now that suks!! Forget them. Drive the extra miles and get real service at Desert Honda on Maryland Parkway.

Thu Nov 06 2003I shopped for 4 cars in the last 6 years, and this is what I would call a typical dealership. The salesman was pushy, the sales manager was eager to sell me something I don't want, and they were willing to drop their prices to unbelievably low marks to keep me in their shop. I was quoted an unbelievably low price for a 2004 Honda CR-V, but when I went back the next day with my checkbook, they told me that that quote was unrealistic and is no longer valid. I had to work hard to take off all the extra things they added to the vehicle, such as running board, visor, and a "collision and appearance package". If you have the nerves and patience to survive through the long hours of negotiation, and pay attention to the fine prints, you could probably get a decent deal here.
