I bought this car new in 2000 and still own it 9 years later. This car is a toy. I only drive it on the weekends and would not want it as a daily driver. With that being said this car really makes me feel like I am a part of it. It is almost an extension of myself - the steering, acceleration, braking... You think it and it is done. People hate on the lack of torque down low - if you shift to the proper gear you will not have a problem. This car is not designed to be a dragster and if you want to drive it like one you need to rev the car pretty high before take off. This car gets a lot of attention. Back in 2000 and 2001 it was ridiculous but even today it gets a lot of attention in part due to its rarity. I wouldn't want this car as a daily driver because of the lack of interior space, lack of trunk space, low mpg, rough ride, weak radio and it is a theft/vandal target. This car was not designed to be a daily driver - it was Honda's gift to itself for its 50th birthday. As ... Read more

I owned one for 3 months then got rid of it. No torque whatsoever. Around town and below 5000rpm it feels like driving a civic dx, no joke. I think before v-tec kicks in theres only something like 150hp. For a 2900lb sports car thats pathetic. Thats the other thing, why is this car so damn heavy!? Honda always does this. They destroyed the prelude because of this. Thats the one horrible thing about Honda/Acura. They need to make their sports cars lighter. About the only time you'll feel its power is entering the highway and the random times you want to tool around. But even then the acceleration is boring. Its not the "throw you in the back of you seat" type of acceleration. Also, the interior is very small, cramped, and uncomfortable. Looks cool, sucks to drive.

This is the Miata in the 30K range, it competes on the same level of the Porsche Boxster (a 50K car and a Porsche) that's saying a ton. Out of all the pure convertibles out there this choice or the Boxster make the most sense, unless of course you want an Elise...

A friend of mine bought this car recently after being talked out of buying a Mazda Miata and I must say, the way it handles REALLY puts the Miata to shame!   For true sports car aficionados.

I've always been a Honda fan, but the S2000 doesn't do it for me. Although it is somewhat affordable, it lacks the punch you'd expect from a car in it's class at lower speeds. That being said, once you get over 60mph, it's great. Bring me back the Prelude!

Arguably the best sportscar for the money. Love my S! I drive it on the road coarses and it takes Porsche Boxters every time. Not in the same category as the new vettes, McLaren, Ferarri, or most Porsches. Those cars are in the $60k on up range and have lots more horsepower, etc. The S, brand new, is around $33k and is powered by a 4-cylinder 240HP VTEC engine. A joy to drive every day and extremely pleased with the performance on and off the track. Great looking car too!

Good, but doesn't compete with brands like Ferarri, Mclaren, or Porsche.

Incredibly pleasing to drive, very agile in every direction of maneuvering, very well engineered, and very attractive. Wherever I drive this car I get compliments and inquiries from pedestrians; a lot of the local school kids even give it a cheer when I drive by. But best of all, driving it feels absolutely superb. It's more fun than all other cars I've owned, even the '65 L78 Corvette.

One of the only import sports cars that I have respect for. Its not faster than a V8 Mustang. Its very reliable and has excellent turning, but who wants a sports car with a V4? You'll probably like your new S2000, but you'll be jealous when you hear a V8 engine roaring.

it sounds like a really good car.I mean how often do you come across a 4cyl dohc 260hp engine! and i have read some of the ratings and they dont like the plastic rear window but you cant have a covertible with a glass window.

Best true sports car. Sour grapes here from owners of inferior cars. Edmunds rates it over Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Audi. Toyota has nothing that competes. http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/comparison/articles/ 44465/page014.html S2000 is also Car and Drivers "10 Best" winner.

Not really a tradtional roadster like the Miata or MR2, but a convertible race car. I love everything about it except the digital dash. Would prefer analog gauges. The 2002 model has a glass back window and a better stereo. Still too expensive, but fewer dealers are gouging now. The S2000 is probably intended to have a limited run, so if you want one, act fast!

260hp sounds pretty good, right? Sounds good until you realize that this number is obtained at 7500rpms! This is the roadster with a speedbike engine. A wannabe Porsche.

A 5 in every category except that plastic back window. Come on Japan; for 36K I want some glass.

This is a joke...I'd much rather have a 1997 Acura NSX...hey, they're the same price! The only reason this is on the road is for rich daddies to buy thier bratty children because everyone else thier age has a honda. This is the worst concievable atroucity on our roadways today, other than the corvette, of course.

Overpriced and not very fast. It has absolutely no torque. Only nice to look at, not to drive. Its a car for yuppies who don't want to spend the money for a Porsche.

Wonderful car. Dislike: digital dash, and banging elbow against rear wall when shifting.

A fantastic exhaust note, the most brake horsepower from a normally aspirated four cylinder engine of any street legal vehicle, and near-perfect weight distribution, all for less than a Boxster.

The S2000 is one of the fastest 4 cylinder cars I've ever seen. Beautiful style and design.
