One of the most clever and soulful cartoons to ever hit the television. Fans of more recent Brendon Small projects (Metalocalypse etc.) will expect the dry wit and painfully funny character-driven comedy but may not be prepared for the emotionally-involving dimensions of this essential 'toon. Overall, a masterwork.

Some of the best cartoon characters ever created, with great plots and funny lines inbetween.

Oh, God, I love Home Movies, even though it's in repeats. Coach McGuirk is awesome. I practically pee my pants every time he gets stuck in his car during the Bye-Bye Greasy song...And I'll race against the other racers! And I'll race with one big shout!

It's too stupid to be given a 5, but too funny to be given a 1.

It's a shame that this show was cancelled. It was probably the funniest thing on Cartoon Network (including Aqua Teen which is also hilarious). This show is very character driven and gets funnier as you get to know the characters. The adult-themed conversations between the adults (especially Coach McGuirk) and kids are great. The humor is unpredictable and at times subtle (there is no laugh track to tell you that something is funny), but often that's when humor is at its best.

Though I can't say I thoroughly enjoy this show, Home Movies does almost feel...real. I can see so many people I know in the characters. The jokes can be quite funny in areas, but the animation lacks quality, and the show can get repetitive.

Intelligent. Especially liked the episode where the kids are at a birthday party. The kid who can't stop eating candy until he gets sick. Like the party drunk, he can't contain his need for gummy bears and chocolate bars even after he lacks the will to stand up straight. His girlfriend foils his attempts to eat more, and tries to give him a lift home when her mom appears. His friends pretend they don't know who he is in front of their peers. These are all people we know or can relate too. Very clever.

This show borders on brilliance at times. It focuses on Brandon Small, Jason, and melissa. The three of them make home movies, and they're pretty sophisticated at it for their age (8ish ?) Anyway, it's a good show - I initially didn't like it because of the animation style but now I see past that and it's fantastic :)

this show is hilarious - the way they go about the humor is awesome. coach babysitting, telling the baby "oh that's just lightning. it kills people, and so does food". oh geez, so funny. and the two semi-homosexual friends, classic

This a very good show and can be watched by anyone. I personally enjoy Coach McGurk's antics. Jason is a hoot. I also like how they kept the animation simple. Nice touch.

I love home movies! Since the first episode I saw. Its fast, smart and funny. It does need new stuff, maybe new characters, not that I dont like the characters, they are great!! But Im afraid that my addiction for home movies would go away if they dont do something new.

"Home Movies" is one of the most intelligent shows on television today; its humor does not attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator. I have found that many times I miss things that happen so quickly or are in the background of a scene that I have made a habit of watching each episode (at least) twice. This is the show I bought TiVo for!

It often has me laughing so hard I wake up my roommates. There are so many quick one-liners that just fly by. Then I found out that most of this show is improv makes it even more entertaining.

I didn't care for Home Movies initially, but it's grown on me. It's very witty and clever. And the soccer coach, McGurk, is a scream.

Good god, I love Home Movies. Some may find it boring, but obviously they do not have an open mind, or long attention span. Home Movies has great plots, and lovable characters. Great comedy as well. Also fans of 'artsy' films should like this show. The only cartoon of its kind.

Home Movies is an ok cartoon. Sometimes it's funny but I think that it kind of drags sometimes like its easy to just kind of stop watching. It needs more jokes
