I wish I could rate it a zero. Booked and pre-paid for a hotel room on line. Great price. Called the hotel 3 days in advance to confirm booking and to confirm check in procedures. The hotel was Holiday Inn. At the time of check in, the lady at the front desk, Lucy, was clearly flustered at something before I even came into the place. She asked me if I got made fun of a lot in school because of my name, when I said no, she started with the extreme attitude, rolling her eyes, saying things to ME to try to get a reaction or something, when I wasn't giving in, and I really just wanted to check in, she said "I can't check you in, you'll have to wait over there for a manager." I laughed and went to the lobby to wait. After about 5 minutes, in a horribly cleaned lobby, a man walks out and instantly tells me I can't stay there that night. No explanation, nothing. I walk back to the front desk explaining it's already paid for and I have everything they need for me to check in...just let me g... Read more

Stayed @ Holiday Inn Express 226 Aurora Ave. North, Seattle Wa. We arrived late after a baseball game @ U of W on Friday night(arrival time app. 8:00pm) Very quick check in, staff very friendly and accommodating...showered and left to see family in Seattle....arrived back after 12:00 midnight..could not find parking...no problem, staff member ran over to Hotel next door(which happened to be another Holiday Inn,but not Express) and obtained a parking card for their garage Throughout the weekend this was the case....The desk people very helpful!!...Even helping me with the printer in the computer room when I was unable to print something out..... Never in a hurry....Always made me feel that my needs were most important!!...Very Nice!! I don't travel often but was very impressed with their professional attitudes...Try Them!!

My family and I were very disappointed. When we booked the hotel, we were told that is was a 3 star HOTEL. Lets just say, that it's a 1 star MOTEL. There are no microwaves in the entire place. Can you believe that the motel doesn't own a mop in the entire place? On one night during our stay, our toilet flooded on its own. My husband is diabetic, and they had to find him an old rusty refridge for his insulin. Motel 6 is like the "W Hotel" compared to this place. This is a warning, please do not stay here!!!!

I went to Priceline for a room in San Francisco and bid on a room. Holiday Inn Civic Center accepted the bid. When I went to check in the front desk was telling people that they could have any room they wanted since the hotel wasn't full and breakfast was included. When I went to check in they gave me a room on the lowest floor next to the elevator and made a big point that breakfast was not included since I bought the room through priceline. No big deal, I didn't come to San Francisco for the sole purpose of eating breakfast. However, when I asked if we could get a room on a higher floor so we could get a nice view, they said that hotel was full even though the person right in front of us was told otherwise. Its clear that Holiday Inn looks down on Priceline customers. I don't why they even use their services if they feel that way. The room was nice enough and the location was very convenient. They charge an arm and a leg for parking so we parked our rental car on the s... Read more

It's fine... a bit better than Best Western but a bit more expensive, too.

I stay at a Holiday Inn when I visit my graduate school on the on campus weekends, and wish I had a closer option. The hotel is clean, but at $240 a night for a room with 2 doubles bed shouldn't I get free parking and breakfast? I feel I get these things from the Hampton Inn for a over $100 a night less! I think the bed is comfy, but its the Holiday Inn for the Four Seasons!

Adequate in every way, if generally unimpressive.  Moderately priced, moderately featured, pretty generic rooms, that are satisfactorily clean.  Perfectly satisfactory, although often I'd rather stay somewhere else.

Good and bad. Most I thought were over priced for what was there. I've found them to be somewhat noisy too.

They are fine but don't stay at a holidome unless you like the smell of clorine and the sound of loud kids. Pool is in the middle of the place and you can hear it and smell it every where. Did I mention it is an indoor pool.

It is a dump, but you get a TV a bed, and a bathroom. Better than sleeping in a car , but skip the free breakfast and go over to the closest IHOP.

Inconsistent. I've stayed at some that were okay and some that were bad. It gets a low rating because you don't know what you're going to get.

The Holiday Inn is one of the most unique hotels I've ever been to. You get what you paid for. I didn't wanna leave!

I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Des Moines off of Merle Hay Road and this hotel was rated well for the price range on orbitz. (This hotel also received good ratings for what reason I have no idea.) This hotel has no elevator, nor any air conditioner in the room, nor any way to open a window in case of a fire, or to cool the room down. The deadbolt did not even work. There was also hair all over the bathroom, if you catch my drift which kind, which wasn't mine, as I just checked into the hotel.I felt very unsafe there and talked to the front desk saying that Orbitz needed them to cancel, and the front desk person and I quote said this to me, "we will not cancel your stay, you are free to leave, but we will still collect our money." This is a very old hotel and totally not even worth the money I paid for it (which wasn't more than $85 a night). Nasty and disguisting is how I would rate this hotel.

Not so sure this is a true good rating but I couldn't give it a bad either. HI's are not as consistant as they used to be. They tend to price themselves as do some off their better equiped competitors when they aren't of the same quality. Too much money, too little hotel.

Oh God. My worst experince with a hotel chain ever. My brother-in-law was getting married but he lived on the west coast and was too nice (that's what my wife said he was...what a misnomer) to let us get our own hotel. When we arrived at the airport he told us that we would be staying at a nearby Holiday Inn and...well to be frank I was pissed (I knew the guy was going through some hard times so I didn't want to offend him). Anyway, my wife and I showed up here and I swear this place was terrible from the start. The room was small and dingy with a customer service station that was a joke. All I can say is that the next time one of my wife's brothers get married, I'll be setting up the arrangements.

In terms of consistancy, Holiday Inn ranks above most. Occasionally, you will encounter a poor property but if you addresss the problem, they will take care of you. Their frequent guest program is among the most generous and easy to use of any in the world. And it works world wide. I use Holiday Inn almost exclusively for my personal and business travel and even when I have problem, a letter to customer service always results in a satisfactory resoulution.

I've had a great time at the one in Brenham, Texas. The room was clean, a comfortable bed for sleep, no signs of anything dirty in the bathroom, and breakfast was just great. It's also near a whole row of fast food restaurants where you can bring back a good meal to your room. If you're on the road many states away, I say book a room at the nearest Holiday Inn for the best in hotel experience.

I used to think that while traveling if you found a Holiday Inn then you had found a nice reasonably priced place to stay the night. That is until I visited the one in Hilton Head Island Georgia. The hotel was fairly clean, but I left feeling the clerk had mislead me somewhat. I also felt that I was overcharged for my room being that it was no better than what it was. I had spent the night on Tybee Island the night before in a nice, reasonably priced, hotel on the beach. The hotel I had left had a wonderful balcony overlooking the ocean that I had really enjoyed. So when I inquired about the same feature at the Holiday Inn, they told me it did offer it’s guest balconies and they had a room overlooking the ocean. To make a long story short; the room did have about a four foot wide by two foot deep space (not even big enough for a chair) that they called a balcony. This particular one overlooked the bar on the beach which was another reason it was useless for me. And they charg... Read more

Used to like HI, but then went to wrong Holiday Inn. Clerk didn't inform me that I was at the wrong location, just that I didn't have a reservation. Long story short. Ended up being charged for both locations and took two weeks to get reimbursed for one charge. NICE

Holiday Inn was the first chain hotel I remember staying in with my family as a kid--I loved the great swimming pools and the big "Hollywood"-style sign out front. But as the years went by, it seemed as though HI lost touch with its original customer market, i.e, traveling families. Instead, HI took on a more corporate traveler-minded focus for a number of years. In the last 5-10 years, though, HI seems to have come back around and learned once again how to market to its original demographic, particularly with the "HI Express" concept. Now, budget-minded travelers can once more afford to stay at an HI location, and get all those great perks we remember from years ago--great customer service, reasonable prices, and the best swimming pools on earth!

When I went to the holiday inn my stay was good and we brought our dobermann puppy baron into our room, they let us! that was cool. we stayed at the zanzeville ohio location. the pool was very nice and it was kept at 88 degrees which was nice. they did'nt have chlorine in it, some other stuff that did'nt hurt your eyes when you had them open underwater! that was cool. I kept on diving un and doing cannonballs and backflips and showing off, I was little and I was a show off and I loved showing off! I really liekd the resteraunt in the holdiy inn, but we had to wait an hour and a half for our food. it was a fancier place and it was free to the guests. I like the food, but I we got so impatiest that me, my sis, and my brother went to the pool for a few minutes and then we got dried up and went back in the resteraunt. I had chicken strips and steak. it was cool. I really don't remember much of it. It was several years ago.

Is is just me or does it look like The Holiday Inn built all of the hotels with the possibility of surviving a nuclear blast in mind? They're all built like they were designed in some Eastern Block country. That must be why these are always the places that you hear about war correspondents stay in when covering a turbulent area? Once inside though they're pretty standard and pretty nice and you can rest soundly knowing that there's probably no harm that can befall you surrounded by all that concrete.
