I bought gas for my jeep and two lawnmowers on Friday evening May 28, 2010. Everything was working fine till I put the gasoling in the engines. Now all three are either working very poorly or not working at all. When I worked on my lawnmower there was water in the carborator. I had to pay $20 for a cab to get us home when the jeep tore up and quess what there is water in the gas too. I went back and told the manager what had happened. He said noway they regulate the gas. I have talked to several people who have experienced this . Very bad bussiness and will not get my bussiness anymore. I'll tell everyone I see what happened.

I was in your store #09418 in Tampa for the 3rd and last time as I just recently moved to the area. Your cashiers are more concerned with gossiping about who does what and when than they are with customer purchases. I stood in a line of two people ahead and one behind me for 10 minutes while watching the cashiers of three shooting the crap with each other and laughing and giggling while we waited to be waited on. When i was finally waited on, my purchase using a debit card took 30 to 45 seconds to complete. Customer service here sucks. My 1st visit to the store, I bought what was supposed to be a hotdog and a cheeseburger. I really wanted a blimpie sandwich, but, the guy behind the counter took much too long to get to me as I had to get back to work. The food I bought was crap. It cost more and I got less than if I had gone to McDonalds down the street. My 2nd visit again I tried to get a blimpie sandwich and no one would wait on me. I left and went to McDonalds. This is the worst Hess ... Read more

I just called a Hess Station in Queensbury NY to ask for information about the upcoming Hess Truck Toy release. I used to love in the area and now live on the west coast, but my Dad still collects the trucks. I work second shift and just got home at at PST. So, I call there figuring it's 2:00 am in NY and maybe they're less busy and more able to give me the info I need. No such luck. According to the very rude Jackie who answered the phone... she has customers. And then a quick hang up. I try to call back and quickly explain why I'm calling and that I'd be happy to hold. No such luck... even ruder the second time around. So, after a few quick calls to other Hess stations in the area, it turns out that the rude employee is actually the manager. If this is Hess's idea of how management should view customer service, I'll have to get my dad a different gift for Christmas this year. I refuse to support a company that doesn't value EVERY customer inquiry. And the fact that this woman is a m... Read more

The hess on turkey lake road in orlando has terrible customer service. They will make you wait outside because they only let 2 people in the store at a time. Don't waste your time and definitely don't be stupid enough to wait outside and waste your money. You really wouldn't miss anything anyways cause there's really not a large selection of merchandise.

So there is a Hess station on Vets highways in long island that contains a Blimpie. I had finished eating something in the store and looked around just to see if I wanted anything else. As I was leaving the store I was stopped and told by an older Arab employee to give some kind of candy bar that he insisted stole. I can honestly say that I hadn't taken anything and that I had already bought and ate a sandwich. I opened my bag willingly for him because I hadn't anything to hide and he reached in my bag and pulled out an open bag of Halls cough drops that were not even sold at that staion. He took them from me, called me a "white asshole..(and more)" and told me to never come back. I am pissed off at the fact that the particular cough drops weren't even sold at that station and that I had bought them 4 days ago at a local CVS. I would like to contact someone further about this, especially due to the racial slurs that I will leave out of this.

The price of gas here is good ,depending on the time of year. This trend runs everywhere though. Now as far as customer service and a great place to work, This all depends on the store and management at the time. Northport fl had a witch for a manager many years ago, fortunately the district manager at that time saw this and got rid of her. Now years later her comes her twin, rude to customers as well as employees. Check out Careers at Hess Express,http://www.hess.com/Careers/lifeathess_we.h tm, What a farce, furthermore they have a special number for employees to call if they experience problems with their store manager or district manager. Watch out there if your an employee and call. Talk about retaliation. Gauranteed they will make every attempt to make you look like the bumbbleing idiot . After years of not getting the promotion my friend was told she already had she complained all the way up. Instead of these oversights being corrected she was made to look inc... Read more

I am from the Midwest where we don't have Hess Express. On a trip to Philadelphia a friend and I got lost in heavy traffic and ended up In New Jersey at a Hess Express. The emploees were wonderful - sympathetic and helpful. They helped us figure out how to get to our hotel and made the experience a lot better. Our sanity was restored.

I work at Hess store 38435 in Brickerville, PA. I feel bad that we have to have all the pumps prepay but it is not our fault, it was not the employees decision. I have explained why we do it in a very kind matter every time someone is unaware. I have had customers curse me out, throw money in my face, lay the gas pump on the ground and run it over. I have seen so many inappropriate things and I still work smiling. Please consider we are only doing our job as you do yours.

Hess Express consistenly employs probably the most inept cashiers and managers of any business in the city. If I ran out of gas in front of a Hess, I'd push my car to the next gas station.

I am a manager of a Hess Express, as I read some of the complaints regarding prepay, I have to ask why did we have to go prepay. I am sorry but some unhonest people have made it hard for all of us. We have to explaine a drive off to our bosses. PLEASE try not to be upset with our people. Just understand, and you could look at it this way... WE LOVE TO SEE ALL OUR CUSTOMERS AND BEABLE TO SAY HELLO. CHERIE station 32346 upstate NY

A friend and I went into the Hess Express on Rt 11 in Carlisle, PA tonight. I was getting some nachos and as i opened the condiments containter, i wittnessed a roach crawling around inside the sweet peppers. I informed an employee, Joyce, who told me that it was impossible and i was lying. Another employee, Mike, came by and saw that there was indeed a roach. We then went to put some Nacho Cheese on the chips and there wasn't any cheese in the machine - i told joyce and her response was "oh well, oh well" This level of customer service was unexceptable - Mike then threatened to call the police b/c we no longer wanted the nachos we started making b/c of the roaches and attitude. We asked for the Managers name and they refused to tell us - guess what Mike and Joyce - we will be calling corporate tomorrow morning!!! So if anyone is near that store - pop and and say hello to mike and joyce - but do it soon - they may not be working there much longer!!!!

I WAS RECENTLY IN THE HESS EXPRESS @ METRO PARKWAY & SIX MILE CYPRESS IN FORT MYERS, FL. I HAVE BEEN IN A LOT HESS STORE'S BUT NEVER ONE THAT WAS AS DIRTY AS THIS ONE. THIS PARTICULAR HESS SERVICES FOOD, I DON'T KNOW HOW IT COULD PASS THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT'S RATING. ALSO ALL THE EMPLOYEE'S IN THIS STORE LOOKED LIKE THEY CAME FROM A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY THE WAY THEY WERE DRESS. ie: SHIRTS NOT TUCKED IN, DIFFERENT KINDS OF SLACK, ETC. JUST NO UNFORMITY TO THE STORE. ALSO PLEASE TELL THE MANAGER OF THIS STORE THAT I SAW MAYBE 2' X 2' EMPTY FLOOR SPACE WHERE HE COULD PROBABLY FIT SOME MORE PRODUCT.

I recently was in Warwick RI for a family funeral and went into the Hess convience store on West Shore Rd across from the Warwick Vets High School. The people were very rude every time I went into the store. They acted like I was bothering them when I went up to the counter to make a purchase. At a gathering with friends and family that live in the area I mentioned it and all that were there approx 10 people said they all get the same treatment. I feel this issue should be addressed.

i shop at store 1825 located in jacksonville, north carolina 3 to 4 times a week. the manager, debbie and her crew are great. all of them are courteous, friendly, and helpful. one in particular stands out, karry. she is all of the above and funny, a very caring young lady. i have seen her handle negative situations professionaly and tactfully, preventing the situation from escalating. karry's kind and caring attitude shines through everytime she is on duty. she makes a day gone bad good again. ooh rah for karry.

Hess Marts are great. By far the best of the gasoline mart combo's. Normally they've included various other franchises to give a wide variety of food including Pizza Hut and Subways.

The employees at the Hess Express in Tampa at 11425 W. Hillsborough has the worst customer service. The pumps frequently do not have paper to print receipts which means a trip inside to get a receipt. The pumps recently began dispensing the gas at an incredibly slow rate and the attitude of the staff is we don't know why and we don't care. Go somewhere else for your gas. So, I am.

Agree with bobvan2 entirely. When you question the pre-pay system, my experience tonight was that of a very rude cashier. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour, rude - never received customer service like it. Boycotttt!!!

Hurricane Charley came through Orlando, Florida on Friday the 13th of August. Luckily no one was seriously injured but plenty of people are still without electricity. I ran all over the city trying to find ice... and wouldn't you know it... Hess was making ice! I got two bags and came back later for two more. That was such a relief for my foods that would have spoiled without it. Now, with a similar run on gas... Hess is also the only station still pumping strong. Also, the Godfather Pizza and subs inside are hot and fresh! Hess comes through in a pinch!

A new shop came into my neighborhood in North BAy Village. It looked nice. I starter purchasing gas. When I ordered food the price charged was more then the menu listed. Next time I stood behind a customer complaining he too was being overcharged. 3 seperate times I attempted to buy a carton of cigarettes. 1st they were out. Next visit, out again yet had more then 10 individual packs but refused to give me the carton price. Last time, out again. I left the gas pump without fueling and took all my business elcewhere.

Over all Hess is a good place.I went into the Hess #09364 in North Port, Fl. on6-4-04 and i have never been treated so bad in my life. The cashier was JNC. He is the most rudiest young punk I've ever encountered! I have a 25 & 23 yr. old kids. If they ever treated anyone like that they would be in trouble with me! That kid, JNC is bad for your business! If you care to respond to me, my E-mail is [email protected] Thank you for your time!

Hess Stores are really clean. The people are generally very friendly. The one I go to is store #38442, located in East Pete. Pa. The 3rd shift guys are great. They remember exactly what I get, and always brighten my morning.

Not too bad really. They always seem to have really clean stores. The only downfall is they have way too many small stores. I like the ones that have Blimpee Express and other type fast food joints. You can get in and out in a quick hurry. It is cool.
