Great Tequila, very intense flowery notes, also very traditional Mexican.

I've tried this several times and found it very harsh.  One time we had just finished some other $40-50 Blanco tequilas at a party and opened this one because someone brought it and it was 100% agave.  I didn't like it at all and gaged on it.  But its pricey, so some people must like it.

Herradura is a great every day Tequila. In the ranking of high-end Tequilas, Herradura is where you begin. It's true agave with not much to dislike. The Silver (blanco) is among the best Margarita tequilas of all. Stand-alone it is bright and limey, with a touch too much alcohol burn. But when you mix it, you can make a nice strong 'rita that is refreshing and delightful to drink.  (I like my 'rita strong and boozy, which means the booze has to taste really good. No Cuervo Especial!). Herradura Reposado is nice, with a smoky, oakey flavor (and again a little burn). Also good for margaritas and better as a stand-alone. Many will disagree with me here, but the only Herradura I don't care much for is the Anejo, because it is too flavored for my tastes. They use sherry barrels I think, or maybe spent bourbon barrels, and it tastes too-brandy like. It departs too much from the soul of the agave. Here's a tip: The best deal in 100% agave Tequila is if you can find a store that sells the 1-Li... Read more

One of the few tequilas to balance great agave taste with strong peppery undertones. The reposado is superb, the blanco bright and balanced. Compares well with El Tesoro or Corazon as my favorites.

I like the reposado, but it's a little too smooth in my opinion. Doesn't have as much character as I thought, but I'd still pick it over most of the rest any day.

The strong oak taste drowns out the agave.

Ah. Those were the days. Sitting at the Centro Asturiano in Mexico City on a Sunday afternoon, sipping Herradura Reposado with my friends. Their anejo is even better, but the reposado was the everyday standby. Unless you can get some handmade from a tequilero in Jalisco, this is the one to go with. And please; sip it. No shooters. It's quite improper. :o)

Consistently great. Full flavor and body, very rich, yet smooth. I find the reposado to be a better value than the anejo. To me, they taste very similarly, though the extra year of aging does add an extra element of smoothness. It's probably too much for fans of Patron and Wabo.

Right on. Herradura is the best I've had the opportunity to taste. The Anejo is their best. Can't go wrong with the Anejo for a great margarita.

This is good in my opinion. It goes down smoothly and doesn't really burn when it goes down. Better with lime and salt. It's expensive but it's worth it. It makes the world spin.

Excellent. Try it after a particularly spicy meal!
