Sun Mar 14 2010It is a serious MBA program (surely the university is not a diploma mill). If you are prepared to join the program, be sure that you are ready to sacrify, including your time with family, not to mention significant tuition fee you have to pay for. The program is easy to join in but when I fell into the "trap", I had struggled so many times whether to quit as it is really a very tough program. Utimately, I took almost 1/7 of my life for the program (if I can be alive until 70) to obtain the degree.

Thu Feb 22 2007HW-EBS: superb quality courses, developed by top professors (from Stanford, INSEAD, LSE, etc) who are also renowned experts within their industries. Evaluation is exam only - you have to KNOW your stuff to get through these brutal exams, rather than gain easy marks through "coursework". And anyone who can complete the degree through Distance Learning has proved their ability, tenacity, and sheer drive.

Tue Jan 23 2007Seems like Heriot-Watt has more distance learning students than they can handle. They are non responsive to emails which makes distance learning awkward.

Wed Jun 28 2006The Heriot-Watt MBA program is easy to get into but hard to finish. The exams are brutal. But, if it was easy, it wouldn't be worthwile. The distance MBA from the Edinburgh Business School of Heriot Watt is on par with any MBA in the world.

Wed Sep 28 2005What are the chances of getting a job after doing full time MBA from EBS at Heriot Watt??

Tue Sep 27 2005Heriot-Watt is a true meritocracy: admission is an open game but graduation rests on hard work, perseverance and one's intellectual capacity to think critically and globally. Heriot-Watt is an elite university of "sans pareil". An MBA from the Edinburgh Business School is the only degree you need for the 21st century global business. Costanzia Tran EQUILIO

Sun Dec 05 2004In reponse to fgfgd' s comments, it is really you who should do your home work. The comments given by others here concern Heriot Watt's standing as an internatioanl business school, not it place in the Scottish university system. I work for IBM and they are paying for my MBA there. So are firms like Exxon, Transamerica, Du Pont etc. In addition, of the other schools mentioned only 3 have almost any entrance requirents for admission. This is a well known aspect of Scottish universities.

Mon Jun 16 2003I studied as distance learner. Because of the high work load at my company it took me 5 years to finish. This is one big advantage of HW MBA that you can choose your study route as flexible as needed. Examinations in Germany were perfectly organized. Distance learning material is well structured and self-explaining. All information needed to pass examination are contained in the studying material. In my opinion there is a high focus on psychological aspects of manager's dessions, negotiations, organisational structure, presentation of facts and figures, etc. This was and is of high value for my day-to-day business.

Wed Dec 25 2002This is a tough program that requires discipline and determination. The profile of the typical student - average age 38, family etc. - is completely different to those attending full time on campus MBAs. Completing the program while working and raising a family is a great achievement for any graduate of the program to be proud of.

Mon Dec 23 2002If you want to challenge your self-discipline and eager of being a knowledge worker, you should try the EBS MBA. I can design my own way of learning, and location and timing of learning. This program is really flexible, maybe the most flexible in the world. I can feel my own responsiblity on my own personal development.

Fri Dec 13 2002The challenge of the curriculum is at a high level. You have to KNOW the subject matter to pass exams. Flexibility of the program is awesome. Your needs will be met, whether it is choosing the sequence of your courses, pace of your progress, location of exam sites (over 300 world wide, and sited based on demand). Solid core courses, and a good and growing choice of electives and specializations. Program can be taken on campus full time or part time, as well as by distance learning in eMBA format or textbook only. There is a delivery mode for all. You can even mix and match, taking some courses at distance and some on campus. This school is the opposite of many well known schools. It is very easy to get into, but you have to earn your way out. Unlike some schools with very high entrance cost and virtually no fails, ther is No Way you can buy a degree here!

Tue Jul 03 2001Their flexible has helped so many busy managers and businessmen to further their knowledge in business management and etc.. What's even more interesting about the Edinburgh Business School MBA is the high standard it attained despite the high competition is business school in the UK.

Sun Jul 01 2001I am impressed with the graduates from this school. The name is very elite and commands high paying salaries and etc.. This is truly a very prestigious school with a reputation more above its closest competitors. Heriot-Watt graduates are very knowledgeable and very professional. I like their style in dealing their day-to-day approach. If I am an owner of a multi-corporation, I would definitely hire most of my staff for higher managerial positions from this school. I would be very confident that it would be the right decision that I did at the end of the day. I have really such high regards to graduates from this school. Heriot-Watt MBA - among the world's best. No doubt!!!

Fri Jun 22 2001This must be a 5 star university. If I will go to UK to study, I would definitely choose to go to Heriot-Watt University. The campus is great plus the prestige of the name they posses. I love to be among their highly qualified graduates who enjoy high paying jobs and all. Herriot-Watt University is for me the best university in Scotland and among the best in Europe. I have heard their MBA is among the most presitigious in the world. Congrats to Heriot-Watt U and more power to their staff!!!
