Here's Lucy

"Here's Lucy" was a classic sitcom that starred Lucille Ball that ran on CBS on Monday nights from 1968-1974. It was a huge success and further established Lucille Ball as the First Lady of Television and Queen of Comedy. MPI is now releasing season sets of "Here's Lucy" and they are really sellling well. Season four is scheduled for early 2011. We should have all six seasons out by early 2012. The comedy shows of today are pure junk. Only about 10% have quality and make me laugh. I recommend that everyone go out and buy seasons one thru three of "Here's Lucy." You won't be sorry.

Enough already! Lucy was suffering from over exposure by this time. If there had been a longer break between the various Lucy shows it would have been better for all.

This show was second-rate and not very funny. I don't think it would have lasted more than a season or two if Lucille Ball hadn't starred in it.

"Here's Lucy" loses points for this list for several reasons. For starters, most of its run was during the 70's. Secondly, Lucille Ball was clearly cashing in on past glory. I haven't seen this show in years, but if memory serves, the storylines were repetitive and the series relied on lots of guest appearances. Neither is a good sign of a strong, original show. At this point, Ball looked like an aging athlete who just didn't know when to quit.

I really enjoyed seeing lucy again; although I kept thinking to myself "she is really starting to look old now." I too noticed that alot of the love interests seemed to be younger; and to see her in her 60's flirt around like that....well, it just didn't seem like the lucy I grew up watching... but I did enjoy the show. I always enjoyed seeing Vivian Vance and Gale Gordon; which ever lucy show they seemed to show up on.... I still watch the here's lucy shows on dvd. I will always love lucy; she was simply amazing!

When she had the broken leg it seemed to show a different side of her. It made her seem more like you and me, not as much physical comedy, more interaction with others liked it alot.

Lucille Ball was a gifted actress in the 1950s, but the older she got, the more conceited she acted. Here's Lucy and The Lucy Show kept having plots where men much younger than her would go ga-ga over her. Give me a break!

This was just a show to fill ABC time grid not as good as the lucy show and terrible compared to I Love Lucy

Lucy was no longer funny at this point. Guests like Donny Osmond didn't help.

This is one of the greatest shows in the history of television. I don't know why some people are giving it bad reviews. The best episodes were from the last three seasons, but the first three were great too!

I have seen the Lucy shows from I love Lucy on up to Here's Lucy. Here's Lucy is not so good. Now she is a widow with two teenagers {played by her real life children Lucie and Desi}. This show is just the same old tune from the show in the sixties with Gale Gordon, Vivian Vance is gone now. and Gale Gordon is the brother-in-law this time but his character is just like Mr, Mooney.This show was just so-so. It seemed like it was more of a springboard for her Children's careers.

One of the most hideous shows ever

"Here's Lucy," I think, is one of the best shows the 1970s has to offer. In this show, Lucille Ball plays a mother of two teenage children (whose names are Kim and Craig played by Lucie and Desi Arnaz, Jr.) who works as a secretary with her stubborn, stuffy brother-in-law and boss named "Uncle Harry" (short for Harrison Otis Carter) at Carter's Unique Employment Agency. Lucy Carter (the show's main character} is often found helping her beloved children with dates, school projects, jobs, among other things. She is a person who really loves her children and would do anything to make their lives easier. Despite her love for them, her actions and ideas cause more havoc than what they were originally intended to do. Kim and Craig (Lucy Carter's Childen) do not get easily upset over the actions Lucy does (for they understand) as opposed to Uncle Harry, who is short-tempered and would do so much to fire Lucy off her job. I allways like this show.

Lucy was the best, I love all her shows. I wish this one was rerun more.

Not bad...the show had its moments, but no comparison to I Love Lucy.

It just didn't work when I Love Lucy ended.

Another great TV show starring Lucy, this one was her second-to-last (Life with Lucy being her last), Lucy keeps alive her speical brand of humor and slapstick with this show that lasted from 1968 to 1974. Most likely cancelled too soon.

As I think many will agree, Lucy hit the zenith of her comedic powers in "I Love Lucy". That was a case of just the right combination of direction, writing, cast, and timing. "Here's Lucy", however, along with her other attempts at television post-Desi, were doomed to comparison with the superior show and paled miserably. I can remember even as a kid thinking how bad this show was and couldn't really understand why Lucy just didn't seem to have it anymore. It was almost embarrassingly bad at times.

A Good show!!!! That unfortunately, Like most of Lucille Ball's post "I Love Lucy" work, must live in the shadow of that show.

Much better than The Lucy Show thanks to Lucie and Desi Jr. But couldn't Gale Gordon play anything else?

Here's Lucy is also remembered by the title, The Lucy Show. I really, really liked it, as it was airing on reruns on Nick At Nite in the early 90's. Ricky dies, and Lucy decides to move to a small suburban town where she makes best friends with a woman, played by Vivian Vance....[again]. The show was in color and was really, really funny.

I thought Lucille Ball was rich enough. Why did she star in this show? Was it because her kids needed work or what!
