Not for everyone just as it says on the label. But I must say I am one of those people. I have only mixed it with Tonic and Diet Coke though so I don't know if it's a good mixer. But it goes fantastic with full bodied cigar.

Great stuff. I received a bottle for a present and was skeptical about garnishing with a cucumber. But it was spectacular and so refreshing. Wonderful taste, not too sweet and very smooth. I am hooked.

Introduced to it in Scotland four years ago garnished with a mandoline shaved english cucumber, but I wasn't convinced and usually still called for Bombay Sapphire at US restaurants. Then recently bought a bottle of Hendricks and one of Sapphire and did a martini face-off. Hendricks was the convincing winner with our group. Hendricks won't hold up if you like olive as a garnish though- go with Bombay Sapphire.

Not bad, not wonderful either, and I wish they would get rid of that black bottle, so I can see what's left.....

I am convinced that Hendrick's is the most amazing gin on the planet. It is smooth and the cucumber flavor is to die for! It does not have that pine needle-y taste that I think of when I think of gin. This is amazing with tonic water and a cucumber slice. No other gin holds a candle to Hendrick's!

Wow. I ran out of Tangueray last night, which I had used exclusively for Martini's - either garnished with lemon or an olive, dirty. Previously I had tried Bombay Sapphire several times along with plain Bombay and even Seagram's. My intent today was to pick up a fifth each of Hendrick's and Plymouth, but the store didn't have Plymouth. I picked up the fifth of Hendrick's for $34, a fresh cucumber, and some Schweppes tonic water. Opening the bottle (it has a cork, which generally indicates you're drinking something good), I noticed sweet scents emanated from the bottle. It seemed "clean" somehow, not tainted by impurities. I made a Martini with a cucumber garnish and wow - so smooth, slightly sweet but not overdone, with no hint of impurities or harshness that would have made me cringe a bit with any other gin I've tried. This stuff is very, very smooth. I've never had a gin I could really call smooth. Usually I'm a whiskey drinker, although I occasionally venture into the gin... Read more

Many of my friends and family rave about this Scottish gin, but I'm not entirely sold. The cucumber is a bit trendy, but it comes of very nicely with the floral sweetness, and the drink is smooth without being too simple. It does not make a very good martini in my opinion -- too light bodied and flat, and it tastes a tad sour with even a touch of vermouth. It definitely skirts by the vodka charge, but its not a very solid gin. Its great for G&Ts or neat in a glass in the summer. Hendrick's is unique enough on its own to merit repeated purchases, and it's certainly a crowd pleaser.

Ignore the prior post on being a waste of time in the circumstances of gin & tonics. Three parts gin to one part tonic, an unusually thin slice of line and a slice of cucumber three times thicker than the lime. A splendid drink (that for some reason has a faint tint of phosphorescent violet).

Definitely a unique gin. The cucumber flavour can be really brought out with some real cucumber slices in the drink. If you haven't tried this one yet, find it.

This is a very good gin with a wonderful aroma. Most of my gin is consumed in martinis (dry, with about 2 drops of vermouth per ounce of gin) and as gin and tonics (equal amounts of gin and tonic). While Boodles and Tanqueray No.10 are very different from each other, if they didn't exist, I would be buying the Hendrick's. If I could have given this 4 1/2 stars, I would have.

Personally found this foul-tasting. Usually drink Boodle's or Beefeater. Leave the cucumbers for the root cellar.

Great Juniper flavor, but you can say this about any gin; well maybe not. Has a more complex flavor than Bombay Sapphire, but this may not be a plus for some people. Gins have such an upfront flavor its hard to rate them. There is just something about Hendrick's that seems to be missing from other Gins. Sorry I am not of much help, but Gins seem to go by personal bias.

This gin made in Scotland is GREAT! I am a regular Martini drinker and have tried them all. This is different and, for me, the best.

The sine qua non of gins. If you're a martini fan, this is the gin you're looking for. If you're a gin and tonic person, don't waste your money as you won't taste what makes this stuff so special. Try doing a dry gin martini with Hendrick's, skipping the olive and going for a slice of cuke instead.

the best gin i've tried thus far. i definitely prefer this over bombay sapphire. how could you resist its irresistable scent? many layers of flavor, runs smoothly down the throat. it's so soothing, it feels like you're drinking a cup of warm herbal tea.

Love the trad bottle, even if it is a touch contrived. I don't like Gin but love this stuff. The only thing that lets it down is the silly price

Love this gin.. though its true..its not for everyone. a Scottish Gin made in Ayrshire Can't really taste the cucumber infusion, but still a great gin. Goes great with Cranberry, and generally fruity mixes, creates a subtle and very refreshing taste. makes even the cranberry taste better. But i still prefer Magellan's for the good ol' gin & tonic. i find that certain gins are good with some mixes and other brands are delicious another way. i don't think there is one standard one-size-fits-all gin fo' real.

Excellent Gin. A little different, but very good. Great in a martini, will hold up to a mixer, but the best way to enjoy is to drink it straight.

Without question a quality, unique gin with a smooth light taste of uncommon (for gin anyway) botanicals. Do, as the bottle suggests, mix a martini with Noilly Prat and add a thin slice of cucumber with or instead of an olive. Heaven!

Don't mix this one. Straight up or on the rocks with a twist of lime. Has a nice astringency, not quite as tart as Tanqueray but not quite as smooth as Sapphire. Very tasty.

I may be one of those not for everyone folks. It is good, interesting and different, but almost like perfume with the rose petals, I suppose. And a little over priced, I think.

A curious gin that may not be for everybody. I found it to make the most splendid martinis and my non gin-drinking friends really enjoyed it as well. It has a rounded flavor and clean but aromatic finish. Curious note: this is a Scottish gin made with rose petals and cucumbers - along with the usual botanicals.
