I went there for a live band performance on 12/18/09 and opened a tab for my drinks using a Visa Gift Card. Conveniently they could never find my card after that. I asked the staff and no one knew where it was, which is unfortunate because it had $40 on it.

December 19, 2009 - a night from hell. I have visited Harlows for as long as I can remember, and have always raved about how much fun I had at this establishment. I have brought many friends to Harlows and I have recommended this place many times. Saturday December 19, 2009 was my last visit to Harlows. A total of 8 people in my group arrived at approximately 9PM, and we were having fun. We got some pretty good seats, directly in front of the dance floor on a nice couch with chairs around us. At around 11:30, a waitress came over to our place that we had been seated for more than two hours, and told us that we had to move because they had overbooked the VIP section and that they were going to put some people in our spot. We really didn't want to move, but we were told that we would have to pay $50.00 if we wanted to stay. Pay $50 to stay in seats that we were already sitting at? FOR REAL PEOPLE? quickly, two very large bouncers came over to extracate us from the premises... WOW, what... Read more

I love Harlows, very nice friendly people, not trashy, mature 30+ crowd, if you love to listen to tunes or dance your butt off this is the place to be.

On 12/31/08 I stepped on to the dance floor for our first dance, slipped and broke my wrist. Something was wrong with that floor because I have been there several time and it was not like that, 2 of my friends fell as well, everyone was barefoot. It completely ruined my New Years not to mention my life right now. If anyone else fell that night or recently please call me, I would love to talk to you. 916-370-6197 thank you.

My boyfriend and I got there early, right after dinner. It was probably 10pm. At first NO one was there, which was fabulous because it gave us time to find the best seat ever, a big leather chair that fit both of us. We sat there all night, mind you we smoked in shifts to keep it, because it did get crowded. I had 2 drinks at dinner, then a long island, an a Sambuca there. The long island was STRONG!!!! But maybe that's because I know how to act and most especially HOW TO TALK TO BARTENDERS! The cover was only $12 a person, my boyfriend's Martini and my Long Island came up to just $16, which is nothing, for two alcohol loaded drinks for under $20, you'd have to be so cheap and tight you squeak when you walk to not appreciate that. The music was ok, good 80s music at first, then some not so good hip hop something that just sounded awful, but we weren't there to listen to the band, we were there to drink, hang out, and laugh at all the white people that simply can't dance although they ... I've dealt with it before but now I had to finally write about it. If Harlow's want to continue to be one of the upscale joints in Sacramento they need to start getting a clue on what they advertise and how to take care of their patrons. Harlow's is notorious for falsly advertising the start time of shows. On going to the latest show on Friday February 15, a local band Sol Peligro was advertised with a start time of 9:00 pm. They were the opening act to be followed by Grupo Fantasma with a scheduled start time of 10:00. OK not a problem, get their at 8:30 to get a good seat and buy a couple of watered down Long Islands for 15 bucks plus $3 tip not to mention the $30 cover. $48 dollars out of pocket starts the evening. 9 o'clock rolls around, no Sol Peligro, 9:15 nothing, 9:30, nothing 10 pm NOTHING, finally about 10:15 they take the stage and do a 45 minute set. Now it's eleven and Sol Peligro has to break down their equipment to let the healiners Grupo Fantasma set up. I admit they se... Read more

My friend went there and had an unfortunate accident which left her ankle with a broken bone Her husband asked the bartender to call for an ambulance (they have health insurance). The bartender said he was not authorized for that....glad it wasn't a heart attack... someone called one for them. While they waited, the manager kept on saying loudly how there was no liquid on the floor....caring more for their liability than the pain my friend was in. Harlows...get a heart. This was all handled through my friends health insurance but not how Harlow's acted...

I just moved to Sacramento from Los Angeles. This was one of the first places I have been in the downtown scene. When I first arrived I was a little surprised to see it was so dead considering there were a couple relatively well known bands playing. My first thoughts were they needed a new promoter. I decided to put that behind me, and enjoyed the fairly impressive environment. I started off with a top shelf greyhound, and was happy to find out that it was only $5.50. I was a little shocked though when I went to the bar and ordered 3 shots using the same alcohol as my cocktail, when I heard the bartender say, "ummm how about $25" Well, last I checked $25 does not divide by 3 evenly. Regardless, I gave the lady $28 and said keep the change. After sitting for a few minutes I realized I had clearly been ripped of by some chic trying to make some extra tip money. As a business owner, I decided it was my duty to let the manager know I was pretty certain his bartender was stealing. I was com... Read more

This is the place for the Salsa crowd on Sunday evenings! Despite a small dance floor, 2 columns in the middle of the dance floor, poor ventilation, and single digit bar and wait staff (don't get thirsty!), the crowds roll up. There's a free lesson first (with $5 cover) which is fun. If you prefer more room to dance, come early, because by 9:30 or 10pm it's often so busy it's hard to avoid bumping. I also recommend checking the website or calling beforehand, because sometimes concerts are scheduled instead of Salsa. Oh, and Margaritas are $3!

The Scene Named after movie siren Jean Harlow, the black- and chrome-filled bar and restaurant evokes the class of old Hollywood with a cigar bar and strong martinis. Neon lights and a young professional crowd provide a modern touch. From couples to girls on a night out--dancing, drinking and chilling can all be accomplished. Weekends provide a riot-worthy crowd, while weeknights are great for romantic night with your special someone. The Draw Get a drink at the bar, dance your tail off on the dance floor and then settle down with some jazz upstairs in the MoMo lounge. People easily flow from one area to another without overwhelming each other. From hip-hop to salsa, no one music style dominates. Bands and DJs are regularly scheduled, while a band plays downstairs, a DJ may be upstairs spinning. It's the music that pulls the in-crowd through the front door.

This is the worst place to see a live show. It's really expensive, the drinks are weak, and you can't hear the music cause all the snooties are talking too loud.

I love going to Harlow's because there is so much live entainment every week. the people that go there are upscale nice people. The place rocks on Fridays and Saturday, get there before 10:00 pm because if you don't expect a long line to just get in.
