Hang 'Em High (1968)

Hopper has a small part here but one fitting for him  He plays a crazed prisoner who is chained up by the town people.  When the deputy U. S. Marshal shows up to collect him, Hopper rants and raves and then escapes.  The marshal, Ben Johnson, yells at  him to stop.  Hopper keeps running and Johnson kills him.
