The Hamilton Beach #33967 comes with a probe and a black spoon which fits into the lid's handle for easy transport. The locking lid is fantastic but the clip hooks get in the way when removing the crock. For a power interruption of 5 seconds or less, the slow cooker will remember its programmed heat & time settings. It's easy to program, but I always refer to the manual so I don't make a mistake. I've used the slow cooker 4 times now. 1st time: I used Manual Mode & made some applesauce. 2nd time: I used Probe Mode and cooked a meatloaf. 3rd time: I used Probe Mode and cooked a whole chicken, best chicken ever, very moist. The slow cooker went to Warm when the temp. reached 180 (it didn't overcook the chicken at the warm temp). 4th time: I slow cooked a beef roast, started out using Probe Mode, moved on to Program and finally Manual Mode. (I had to turn the slow cooker off then back on each time I changed the settings) I don't agree with the user guide's desired temperature o... Read more

This is a crock pot for the 21st century. I have owned many over the past 15yrs, and their quality has dwindled. The last programmable I purchased from Sears and it won't cook a pot of pinto beans in 24hrs. This unit I immediately put it to the test and same beans on high cooked in 4hrs. The probe feature is sweet too. I would recommend this to the working people who simply don't have time to monitor cooking. Consumer Reports rates this unit very high as well. Regards and happy cooking!

I have returned this after one use. The unit turned it's self off 3 times while cooking one roast. I has home for the day so I caught it but what's the point. I want to set it and forget it! That's not possible with what I got!

After our last "slow" cooker burned our food (on low), we decided to look for a new one. I read many reviews and then decided to give this one a try. I am so glad I did! It actually cooks the food at a low temperature. I was worried it would be difficult to program, but the instructions are quite easy to follow. I like the way the lid can be clamped down for travel. I wish that it had more advanced programming, such as "cook on high for 90 minutes then switch to low" but that was not a deal-breaker. But then again, from what I read, it seems like the fancy programming features could be part of the flaws behind some of the other models. We have not tried cooking with the probe yet, but otherwise we are very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

This product was a gift to my daughter and son-in-law. They told me that it is better than they thought it would be. Meals are easy to prepare and less to clean up after cooking. They are happy and so am I.
