Tried it at my friend's house. Didn't care for it. However, certainly better than the molson light that he was drinking.

Like someone else here, I drank a lot of this in college. Has the edge on Heineken. It's hard to turn down a Dutch beer.

Nice amber color with a nice white head with good amount of lacings. Good pale lager. From a 12 ounce bottle. Nice sweet malts with a balance of Saaz hops. A light tasty brew. Watch out for "skunk" issues due to the green glass bottles. Caution- Could be considered "bitter" by those who enjoy American lager style beer.

Awesome bottle.  The beer is okay.  Sometimes it's a little skunky.  Maybe has to do with shipping.  Worth the buy to try and for the bottle!

I gave this a 3 because "something has happened"!! (Would have been 5 last week and 1 this week) I've drunk Grolsch cans in the UK for the last few years, but suddenly the tastes is vile (especially on cans with a June 08 sell by date...the current batch). It has become smokey, metallic and undrinkable and I have complained to Grolsch who want me to submit some cans for testing. I studied brewing at University and am prepared to put up with quite a lot, but this new brew is BAD! Has anyone else experienced the latest poor brew...new recipe....spoilage?????? TIA Jon

Great beer!! Having some as we speak!.. On vacation to Europe I visited  a friend in Amsterdam and was introduced to this beer and liked it very much, I agree a bit less skunky than Heineken (which is my fav. beer, anyway) but nonetheless a very good beer..forget the gimmicky flip top bottle that just all marketing anyway ( i should know I work in Advertising, unfortunatley lol!) ... so drink and enjoy... and no I dont work on the Grolsch account... ;O)

I will only buy it if it comes in one of those cool bottles. I've heard they are good for bottling your own beer.

I can't stand this beer!  But my husband absolutely loves it!  I call it "one of those skunk beers"!

Similar to Heineken but without as much of the skunky edge that Heineken has. Has a chewy, dry hoppy quality at the end. I quite like it. Goes good with a bratwurst and some sauerkraut.

How is this beer rated so high? I drink lots of different beers and this is the only one I felt very sick after smelling and drinking a little of it. I tried to give it to my friends who will drink anything and they did not like the taste, you have to be a beer snob with bad taste to like this beer. They should name it gross

Grolsch is a very flavorful beer and the aftertaste has some kind of a bakery thing going on . It may be just me but I taste some kinda fresh bread after drinking it. Its a beer you need to experience if youre a beer lover

One of the better euro style beers - I like it better in bottles than flip tops - a great balanced taste.

Excellant beer I've enjoyed since 1985. Another is 3Monts which is almost impossible to find.

A delicious lager, so much better than Budweiser, Miller, etc, that it is insulting to even try to compare Grolsch to most other beers that are readily available in the U.S. Heinekin will do, but Grolsch really outshines Heinekin.

Not as good as Czech lagers but way better than the rest of the competition including Stella, Heineken, Tuborg and Carlsberg

Good for what it does. Stationed in the middle east we were allowed only 3 beers a week. Everyone chose Grolsch in the big cans because of its 5.0 alcohol content. Ussually I could scam an extra one or two from a non drinker, but 3 would normally give a good solid buzz. Caution: this beer goes in...but has to come out the next day, if you catch my drift.

I don't understand why this beer got so many 5 star ratings. This stuff is nasty as hell, it is strong beer which I like, but it isn't even a dark beer, so that = nasty In order for a really strong tasting beer to be good it has to be dark. Grolsch is pretty nasty stuff, it may be good for cleaning a sink or something, but not for drinking that is for sure. I hate Budweiser beer with a passion,I always have and I can drink it all day over Grolsch it is %100 better and it's nasty also. Here read up kiddies. Let me give you tips, I will tell you what good beer is. Guiness (on Tap) Samual Smith (oatmil stout) Samual Smith (taddy porter) Pete's wicked ale New Castle Any of these are great beers.

It's not a bad beer, but the swing-top bottle is the best part of it. Drink and enjoy the beer and save the bottle to put pepper sauce and BBQ sauce in.

A skunky Euro-style brew that sometimes agrees well with me, other times not. It's too expensive.

I truly can't believe that Grolsch hasn't received more 5s - everything else is like water next to this great tasting, refreshing beer (with a proper % of alcohol). This beer is a meal!!!!!

Pretty good, although I don't like lager all that much I don't mind drinking Grolsch at all. Doesn't leave a bad aftertaste like most lagers do. Not so great out of a can.

Not bad but not great. Certainly not my first choice of beer but I gotta say a large part of the attraction is just the funky bottle. How lame of me is that?

Very interesting flip top. Is this because nobody can stand to finish a whole one of these once and they need to re-cap for their next sitting?
