I failed my first road test with another instructor. Then i had Luck who made me feel confident and relax. He also taught me exactly the skills that proved most important to pass the test; Luke also happens to be a super nice guy; i recommend him!!!

I had Ed Panis as my instructor and I passed my test. I really appreciated the instruction and with his instruction I was able to pass. I would highly recommend Ed as an instructor and taking course at this driving school.

This my 4th driving school and after 3 failed road tests with the other schools I passed today - my first attempt with Grand Prix. I guess practise matters a lot and its just a matter of time, but I do think the instructor, Ed made a big difference. I found him to be very sincere, constantly giving feedback, check this, observe that, not this way, look here.. on and on and on.. he has firm manner - which I appreciated a lot. I already new the basics.. I was just failing because of jittery nerves and Ed was the ideal remedy for that. If you can drive under his instructions and to his satisfaction - you can pass the test! I found the rest of the staff to be very polite and engaged as well - working with me to set up, reschedule and plan the lessons and tests. Thank you Grandprix, especially Ed!!

Luke is an excellent driving instructor that makes you feel comfortable when you are the very first time behind the wheel or a very good companion when you are established driver and just wanting to refresh your driving skills. He is the one who gets you to the road test just once and you don't have to comeback for the second time or third time...

ok - so I failed my first road test before and then booked my second appointment through Grand Prix. Had a 60 minute lesson with Luke before the test and he taught me exactly the skills that proved most important to pass the test; he takes no prisoners which is exactly what is needed here. Luke also happens to be a super nice guy - highly recommended!

I was discouraged at first because the school's prices were much higher than what I was used to (Washington Heights vs. Midtown Manhattan) but after I found out they could schedule lessons to accommodate my schedule, the price was worth it. My instruction was Mr. Ed Panis and if you can get him as your instructor, you will be pleased. Mr. Eddie, as he is called, is very knowledgeable on the rules of the road and, even better, he makes sure that you understand them and not just follow them. I thank Mr. Eddie for his patient instruction which allowed me to feel relaxed and confident for my road test which I passed! Also, to comment on someone else's review where they said the staff was not very friendly.....I started going to Grand Prix in January of this year (2009) and never encountered rude behavior from any staff member. So here's the deal: The place itself is run-down and kinda sketchy, the staff is not very friendly and sometimes after you book your lessons they wont have any available instructors, which is obviously a pain. But they do in the end know what they're doing, even if they don't seem to. The instructors are actually quite good. They will help you pass your road test even if you're not a very good driver. The road test is not rocket science and the instructors know exactly what you need to learn to pass. So in that sense it is good. However, the facilities and cars are kinda gross, but luckily it'll only take a few classes to get the hang of it. Tips: book your road test as soon as you pass your pre-licensing course, and book all your lessons ahead of time because sometimes they won't warn you and all the instructors will be booked.

I went to Grand Prix after reading the reviews online. I was not disappointed. I'd taken driving lessons years ago at another establishment ...

I got my roadtest appointment on time before I go back to college. Instructor was thorough during our roadtest simulated lessons and the staff are friendly and patient, They worked very hard to meet my deadline and to get my license. Highly recommend the service of Grand Prix.

Luke was an INCREDIBLE instructor. He is very patient, friendly, and accommodating. I just passed my road test thanks to him -- I started out feeling shaky and nervous, and now I feel very confident in my driving abilities. Go with Luke.

I became interested in this school after reading a lot of glowing reviews, to my surprise, the school itself was dodgy, the staff discourteous, the car was a wreck and the instructor, Lucas , never taught me anything useful, all he did was spend all my and his time listening to music, of course i failed my road test, no surprises there, i recently signed up with another, far more professional school and passed with 0 points. Please steer clear of Grand Prix and Lucas

Luke is a great instructor. He is calm and and does not make you nervous when pointing out your mistakes. He made sure i got the most out of my five hour package and was never in a hurry to end the lesson. I passed the road test the first time.

my sister had taken her lessons before me and used grand prix but got a different instructor. he couldn't make one of her lessons but she needed to finish her hours because her test was in a couple of days, so they sent her luke, and she said he was great. he told her things she should know about the test that she didn't know before, and she passed right away. so when it was my turn for my lessons i asked for luke and he was great. so funny and personable, but i still learned everything i needed to know to be well prepared for the test. he made driving easy and i never felt nervous or scared, and passed my road test on the first time after 10 lessons, never having drived before. the office is pretty disorganized and i had some issues with scheduling lessons and stuff, and since luke was so popular with other students make sure you book your lessons with him in advance! but otherwise it was great, i know a bunch of friends that have used grand prix and i always reccomend luke. one of... Thanks to Eddie - I went from zero knowledge of driving to a licensed driver with their 10 hour driving program (over the course of one month)! I can now drive with confidence in the city, on FDR, on the highway, get on road trips ... three-point turn, parallel parking! Love it!

very convenient location for the 5 hour class and very professional and effective instructors. I had Tommy Barcena, he was great and I went from petrified student to licensed driver!

I had used several other schools and several other instructors at Grand Prix and Luke was by far the best! I had some issues that other instructors could not address, when I met Luke he made it fun AND easy! I recommend Luke to any strugling driver!

So.. I'm 21.. fiiinally getting my stuff together. I googled this school and paid approx 300 for my 5 hour class, rental car and early DMV test. Seriously.. awesomeness! I got my DMV appointment in 2 WEEKS! To top it off I took a 90 min lesson right before my road test. (TRUST ME IT HELPS) with Mr. Wonderful Luke. I couldn't parallel park for my life and he made it super easy! He's patient and really friendly. SUPER encouraging too!! So.... today I had my road test.. and hear this.. FIRST TIME OUT...I PASSED!! WOOHOO Luke is THE MANN!!!!!! I totally recommend him. I got him by accident.. but he was def a God-send.

After living in New York for 4 years and being 22 I decided it was time to get my license. Grand Prix sounded professional and their website helped, so I went. The class was fine, and we got done in good time. After that, the office was a bit disorganized with payment and appointments, but it was more than made up for by Luke, my instructor. He was patient and easy to get along with, and made learning to drive in a place like New York easy. After 10 hours with him I passed my test the first time with no problem, so if you need to learn to drive, definitely ask for Luke.

A friend of mine recommended the Grand Prix Driving School after I failed my first road test with another driving school. I was very nervous behind the wheel and I needed a patient and friendly instructor to make me feel more at ease. Fortunately my instructor Eddie was extremely patient and gave me a lot of positive reinforcement. I am happy to say that I passed my road test and I want to thank Eddie and the wonderful office staff for all of their help and kindness!

I was very nervous and struggled with taking my road test for a long time. Eddie, one of the coolest driving instructors I ever met, effeciently took me through all the necessary steps to obtain my license, and I did. He was great and I highly recommend the office staff at Grand Prix and Eddie to my friends and family.

Luke was my driving instructor for 30 hours and I was the worlds most nervous driver before I met him! He was so easy to learn from and incredibly patient. He was really flexible with my schedule and would drop me off where was handy for me. I was lucky to find him. I would recommend him to anyone learning to drive!!!

I'm 30 years old been living in New York for 5 years now. I never really learned to drive, so I decided it was time to get my license and learn. Searched the internet for some schools and inquired, to make the story short I was impressed with the way Grand Prix Office staff answered my questions. This school makes everything easy for you. They don't push to take more lessons than you need if you come with an experience gained abroad, they offer flexible lesson schedule, the staff is extremely gentle and the instructor was extremely efficient to make you at ease with the test. My instructor was Eddie and I can only recommend you to ask for him !

Before I went to Grand Prix, I did not know how to drive at all. After practicing with instructor Eddie...I became a confident driver. He is very patient and an overall nice person. My experience with Grand Prix Driving School was great. I explained in my initial phone call that I have previous experience and is not in need of 8-10 lessons. Elizabeth suggested I have 1 lesson, that way I can guage where I am, as well as the instructor. Eddie....my instructor was great. He's patient, he's a great instructor and during our sessions, spoke lovingly of his family. With only 3 lesson...I passed my test. Elizabeth was able to schedule a test sooner than I expected. super convenient and helpful. eddie was a tremendous instructor. they were able to schedule a road test within 2 weeks of my 5-hour class. i had a quick refresher lesson before the test and passed with flying colors. the 5 hour class, driving lesson and road test with instructor and car in total came to about $270.

Grand Prix driving school is great. They are organized and walk you through all the steps you need to complete in order to get your license. I was lucky enough to get Lucas as my driving teacher. His teaching has made me feel comfortable and confident. He has a relaxed way about him that puts you at ease and allows you to take in all that you need to know. If you decide to use this school (which you really should!) ask for Lucas. You'll be very glad you did!

Courteous, professional and able to work with individuals with difficult schedules. Grand Prix does it all with flair. I had a fantastic experience--both in the 5-hour class and with my individual instructor. Reggie is the best. He makes you feel cool, calm and collected. You will pass!

Firstly I want to thank my instructor Aubrey and the school staff. They have been so helpful and accommodating in regards to scheduling my lessons and road test. Aubrey was great specially in improving my horrible parking method(before I enrolled). But thanks to this school I'm off to driving in the streets of New York with confidence and safety in mind. I had a license before but it expired when I worked overseas. I called Grand Prix and I told them that I need to get my license right away for my job. I got my roadtest appointment in days, took my test and off I drive to sunny Florida for my new job. Thanks to Elizabeth for the fast turnaround time!!

This school was referred to me by a parent from my daughter's school. Like every parent, I screened the school and the instructor behind the wheel to teach my child. My teenager passed her driver's test. My husband never get impress easily but he was at our daughter's driving skills. Thanks to Grand Prix, especially Don. Definitely a PTA discussion...highly recommended to skeptical parents with a teenage driver like me.

Hurray, I got my driver's licensed and thanks to Don, my instructor! I am a nervous driver but he has this calming mantra that quiet me down. I enjoyed every lesson with my instructor that I never realized it was over and time to go for the test. Well...I passed and I was glad that I took training from Grand Prix. Great driving school. Took lessons and got my license in a few weeks. I highly recommend the instructor I had, Aubrey.

The office staff is extremely helpful, jsut make sure you get a good instructor- Eddie and Aubrey are excellent, but some of the others are, uh, well, I can't speak to all of them, but make sure you get Eddie or Aubrey. They're great.

Perry Hpu is a great instructor, try taking him. I passed my test nicely on my second try with Perry. Grand Prix Driving School has great packages at great rates. Try Them and try to get Perry as your instructor and funny guy too.

I had a great experience at Grand Prix. The people in the office were always willing to work with me and accommodate schedule. My instructor Eddie was amazing! He has so much knowledge due to the fact that he has been a driving instructor for almost two decades. Eddie is a kind, respectful and professional instructor, he is patient, calm and understanding, and will help you in any way he can. Eddie truly loves his job and loves teaching people how to drive. I took the driving test ten years ago when I was 17, failed it once and didn't bother to take it again until this week. A friend recommended Grand Prix Driving so I signed up for the five hour class and five hours of instruction. After taking my first hour with one instructor, he had an emergency and had to be replaced. Grand Prix set me up with a new instructor immediately and I am glad they did. Enter Perry Hpu, a guy who took me from being unsure and nervous about driving to being completely confident and passing the test on my first try. Perry knows what the inspectors want to see on the test and helps the student deliver on testing day. He's a cool guy, he's patient with inexperienced drivers, and he gives you the skills you'll need, not only to pass the test, but also to drive safely and confidently on the road for real. I would definitely recommend this school and if you can, try and get Perry for your instructor. You won't be sorry. Peter

The best driving school ever. My instructor was aubrey and he was so professional, courteous and friendly. He got me on the road and driving in no time. I was amazed how quickly I learned, and now I have my very own driver?s license. Good job grand prix driving school and thank you aubrey. You're the best.

I was a nervous wreck and procrastinated to get my license for God knows how long, and finally here i am driving all over, enjoying every minute of it, proud of myself like i want to tell the world "I have a license!" and of course whom do i owe this kudos if not for you Grand Prix.
