This is my hometown, actually, as it is to many of the oher raters of this subject. Many parts of this town, I do not like, but most of it I do. I don't really know how to describe it, when you just go down the aveny with the tram, I get this sparkly feeling inside of me. Is it joy, or is it love? Well, geeze, I don't know. Maybe I'm just proud. Proud to be a citizen of this beautiful wes coast city. And why chouldn't I? It's a great twn, some great people live here to. My family, my friends, my enemies. Just the way home should be like. That's why Sweden will alway be THE country for me, and Gothenburg THE city for me. I don't know anythng else that could complete this rating, but to say---- It's Great!

I think it´s a great town. But to get your own point of view, I think you should have at least been here once. I mean, the aveny is somthing you have to see with your own eyes. I grew up here, almost my intire childhood, but I´m not going to spend the rest of my life here. I think that the people in Goteborg should see more of the world, or else you might get a little naiv. ´Cause we here in Sweden has a very high standard, and so has Goteborg, and you might wanna see other countries. And their cultures. Since the swedish way of life is very similar to the american.

This might not have so much to do with the city in itself but I was at one of the demonstrations against the EU & George W Bush, and I left before things got out of hand. But seriously, oh my god! I don't think I've ever seen so much distruction, violence and abuse. The huligans ruined everything and what really bugs me is that the foreign media is going to focus all their power on ca 1000-1500 'demonstrators' that crossed the line than on ca 15000-25000 thousand that demonstrated in peace. Also let's not forget that many of the huligans weren't even swedish citizents, some were from Germany, Norway, Denmark and some other countries. Thanks to these huligans, 49 people have been brought to hospital as I'm writing this, among 500 people have been arrested and the police is calling in backup from the other cities in Sweden. Seriously, do they have any idea how much time and money it's going to take to rebuild this town. Those who live in the centre of the city have been told by police no... Read more

I would have to admit to be a bit partial as this is my hometown. It's not the greatest of places but you could certainly do worse. We have some sighting that could be worth your money. Like Liseberg (the biggest amusement park in Scandinavia), the soon-to-be aquarium and Slottskogen. My personal favorite is the last one although if you're looking for tropical animals, apart from birds you probably wont find what you're looking for. About the hospitality thing; How do you feel when a bunch of strangers invade your streets, taking pictures, looking on in amazement or disgust, huddling in guided groups, making huge queues in your favorite stores and (many of them) behave rudely towards the locals. I mean, who doesn't get annoyed by that? And about the racist thing. Most of us aren't racist (I hope) unfortunantly the ones who are ruin it for everybody. Although us (supposedly)being racist towards southern european confuse me, I know many of us (including me) have prejudice towards them I ... Read more

maybe the city is a little bit interesting, but I don't think the same about the people, they aren't hospitalary, and even you find racism with the southern european people (italians, portuguese...)
