The accurate thing about this movie is that it's about a hex. But while the storyline would have us believe that the hex is on Dane Cook, the reality is that Dane Cook himself is the hex on the movie. We watched it looking in vain for a funny moment when Dane Cook was on the screen. Unfortunately, all the funny moments occur when this brick of an actor is not on the screen. For example, the wedding singers are funny. Dane Cook is not. Hopefully his career has gone the way of Mariah Carey's.

Synopsis: Chuck (Dane Cook) plays a thirtysomething dentist who always bungles his relationships only for his ex-lover to get married to someone else soon after they break up. He realizes that this is all due to a curse a girl placed on him as a child. His fair-weathered friend Stu (Dan Fogler) tells him to just go with it so Chuck ends up sleeping with ever woman in the area who's looking to meet her future Mr. Right (or Ms. Right as was shown with the lesbian officer.) He eventually meets penguin fanatic Cam Wexler (Jessica Alba) and the two forge a relationship. Yet because he's convinced of the curse, he smothers Cam to the point where she loses interest. He goes to the woman who put the curse on him, she lifted it, and then he and Cam... ah you know the rest already. Yeah, the comedy parts of the movie weren't that funny, the story line was weak, and while I'm not opposed to nudity in film, it better be more than simply gratuitous unless it's specifically marketed as a po... I was so excited to see this awesome laugh-out-loud comedy on Amizon at such a great pirce (totally blew Wal*Mart out of the water!) I was a bit worried about the condition of the DVD, however, being that I bought it used. When it arrived within a couple of days I watched it that night and was so happy to see no skipping! I give this purchase an A++!

I got this as a result of a buy 2 get 1 free. It is a good movie and funny as well. Nothing bad about the movie, I just prefer nature flicks.

"Good Luck Chuck" is a one-joke movie and that joke is not that funny. Because of the spell cast on him while he was a ten-year-old boy, Charlie Logan is eternally prevented from finding true love. He discovers that all the women he slept with will get married happily after dumping him. This is a kind of joke (or perhaps a real-life episode) you may hear at some party. You may find it pretty amusing, but you soon forget it. Somehow the filmmakers tried to develop the idea into a feature-length film in the wrong way. Many women in town, knowing the existence of "Good Luck Chuck," swarm around him just to get what they want. And Charlie accepts it. Cue to lots of nudities and unfunny jokes. Dane Cook as Charlie tries to make his character likable. He has no chance, however, especially when he is seen with his loud and noisy friend Stu (Dan Fogler), who is one of the most obnoxious characters I have ever seen. But Good Luck Chuck finds his own Miss Right anyway, in a cute klutz Cam ... Read more

While I love Dane Cook and the fat guy with all the tasteless jokes, this movie kind of missed it for me. Seems like they were trying to add Dane to the cast to make it a funnier movie than it would have been with any other actor. There's no Oscar buzz over GLC for a reason. Having said that, it's a great "chick flick" that guys can suffer through thanks to the addition of Jessica Alba. It does have it's funny points but it's akin to Old School. Just another movie with lewd jokes and plot with a few great one liners thrown in
