I'm a 20 year old guy. Typically, I wouldn't watch a show about 60 year old women talking about the stuff they do on this show. But wait, this isn't any other show. This is the Golden Girls! So naturally, this show is so freakin' fantastic that if a 20 year old male can enjoy it, nearly everyone else can too! The show is dirty in it's own right, the show has a morality at times, the show is always funny, and the pop culture for that time is something to look back on. I've seen nearly every episode and while I do admit, the later years were the better of them - you should still WATCH THIS SHOW. It's a great way to be entertained and back in the summer of 2009, I used to adore watching hours of this show.

This show is just hysterical!!! I love Betty White as Rose! (And I might be the only one who enjoys hearing about St. Olaf...) Definetly a show to watch with your girlfriends...I can't see how any man would enjoy watching more than 10 minutes of this!!

This show is Sex and The City for geriatrics. When I watched it as a kid, the sex jokes always went over my head, still have fond memories of it despite that. The characters played off each other so well. I love Rose and her simple life, Blanche was an entertaining slut, Dorothy was the sarcastic one who never got a date and Sophia was the sarcastic mother figure, who happened to also be Dorothys mom. The show got a way with a lot of risque behavior (for its time) I think because of the age of the charaters disarmed the censors. the formula worked, good show. Rest in Peace Estelle Getty.

I know most people thought that Rue McClanahan was the total sexed out hottie, but I always thought that Bea Arthur was the one who could get the job done.

Best. Show. Ever. Still as relevant today as it was 20 years ago. Who knew how progressive the show would be, especially considering that the dynamic featured later turned up as "Sex and the City."

Well crafted show, just not my cup of tea. Bea Arthur was much easier to watch in this show than in Maude.

I still watch this show from time to time it's kind of hard to miss it if you watch the Lifetime network. The cast of the show meshed well with  each other. And it was funny and I guess cutting edge at the time it came out in the 80's. Dorothy is my favourite character, followed by Blanche.

Definitely the best sitcom with  all female lead characters and one of the better 80s US comedies. It had a nice feel to it even if it wasnt wall to wall belly laughs. Still guranteed to get a few chuckles per show.

Betty is SO funny and all these ladies did such a great job. It's amazing that they still continue to work in other areas. Betty has pretty much done it all and soon will take part in Bold and Beautiful. Bea has done Broadway and has hearing problems now. Estelle is not well and in a type of nursing home. Rue is still acting on Broadway a lot too.

This show might be funnier than I'm willing to admit, but I couldn't stand it. Golden girls just aren't my thing, weather they're on TV, playing bingo, or sitting in my living room. Get them golden oldies as far away from me as humanly possible! They're GRRRRRRRRROSS!

The girls are great and I still watch the reruns almost every day. If you want to laugh out loud, this is a great show to tune into. All the actresses are pro's, yet Betty will always be my favorite.

There have not been many programs that stood the test of time like this one. I LOVE LUCY, ALL IN THE FAMILY, and maybe a couple of others can always make you laugh....and GOLDEN GIRLS falls into this wonderful category. The writing was superb. The acting was outstanding with such pros. We all have our favorites and mine is Betty White. As long as stations like Lifetime keep airing this program, I'll be watching over and over - it really cheers me up. Laughter is the best medicine.

I loved this show in the 80's and still watch it in reruns. To this day it makes me laugh out loud, even though I know the storylines by heart. I love all the girls, but my favorite was Blanche. She was one sexy old broad. The scripts and writing was top notch, and the ladies had great chemistry and timing. If they ever stop the reruns, I will buy the entire DVD collection!

At the time there was no show like Golden Girls. This show was made in the 80's when most of the shows were about teenagers or parents living with teenagers. But Golden Girls was about something that was odd at that time.....independent but single older Ladies! But somehow the show was still a hit on the TV ratings(I think that it was the older people at that time that were watching Golden Girls because they could understand how the ladies in the show were feeling because they may have been feeling the same way). I don't think of myself as being old(so you better think the same way)but I still love this show. I think that Golden Girls should have had higher ratings than The Cosby Show or Cheers(However Golden Girls was always a top five or top ten show until the 7th season). Another thing I like is that the script for the Golden Girls is intimate without going overboard like the script of Desperate Housewives or Sex and The City(if anybody has read my other messages you all may sense t... It seemed like this program could have lasted forever. Love watching it again on reruns. Someone wrote that Sophia got the best "zinger" lines, and I do agree, though of all the Girls, the only one whose acting was a bit different was Estelle Getty (probably due to her Broadway training). Sorry she is so ill now. The other 3 Girls are fantastic and worked beautifully together. Their comedy, wit, timing, etc., was PERFECT. Of course, my favorite Girl is Betty White and the wonderful Rose! I still love to watch it.

Our Sick Stressful world needs these kind of shows, that are entertaining and make you laugh. The Golden Girls is one of the best rated right up there with Lucille Ball. Please dont take it off. Laughing is the best thing for our bodies to mend and stay healthy. There is absolutely not much on the all the cable channels that we are all forced to pay but junk. Keep the Golden Girls on and on an early time slot so all can still enjoy and relax to. thank you

Still being seen on Lifetime Channel. Though I'm the opposite sex, I do watch it sometimes and it still cracks me up! It's good that there is a DVD now; we may never know when the channel will cancel it. This one with its funny antics of old single women trying to find some love (even if they're divorced or widowed) deserves to last longer than expected on CBS. You should also see the spinoff, The Golden Palace. Except for Beatrice Arthur, the original cast stars, and Cheech Marin and Don Cheadle star; it is equally funny as the original.

No s*itcom on TV today comes even close to the Golden Girls. I highly doubt that Will & Grace or King of Queens will be remembered as fondly as the Golden Girls 20 years from now.
