Wed Jan 20 2010Possiblities are endless- Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Kezar Stadium, SF Botanical Gardens & much more to do! Or, of course, just lie down and relax when the grass is not soggy. Though it can get breezy, imagine how it feels in the summer... Fun place.

Fri Jun 19 2009Golden Gate park is a great place just to hang out! I ventured through this park for hours sitting under random trees and watching the locals. If you want to see some of the crazies that San Fran has to offer a day at the park will make you see sights you've never seen before and weren't quite sure that you wanted to see.

Thu Jun 04 2009When I first moved to San Francisco I used to stumble around Golden Gate park taking pictures and just simply taking in the massive park. The smell inside the park is sooo refreshing and the little ponds and trails throughout provide for hours of sunny day entertainment. They use Speedway Meadows to throw one of my favorite free concerts in the city which is Power to The Peaceful. Booths of political information, health information and delicious festival food create an amazing vibe on the weekend of the September 11th. The park houses other great attractions like Stowe Lake, The academty of Sciences, the botanical gardens and sooo much more. I was lucky enough to catch the filming of Memoirs of a Geisha in the park. It was during fall and the colors of the trees were auburn and yellow and orange. It was beautiful, but I think Golden Gate is beautiful during all times of the year!

Tue Oct 04 2005Pretty cool park. It's not uncommon to see a free concert on the weekends. There are several soccer fields, some baseball diamonds, a golf course, botanical gardens, a carousel and play area. Bring a map, because it's relatively easy to get lost and there aren't a lot of map stations.

Mon Jan 31 2005The park is great. Big enough that it never feels crowded. It'd be nice if roads were closed off to traffic more often than once a week, but that's OK. The beach at the west end of the park is one of my favorite getaways...sure, it's foggy and windswept (Baywatch, it's not) but because of that, it's uncrowded and peaceful with plenty of room. Where else can you stand on a single corner that borders a major park, an urban neighborhood, and the Pacific Ocean?

Tue May 13 2003What is not to like? You can jog/hike/bike all the way thru to the Pacific Ocean. That doesn't suck.

Wed Feb 19 2003Golden Gate Park is San Francisco's backyard playground. It's huge and beautiful with so many things to do and see. They have stables and horseback riding, boats to rent and paddle across the lake, dozens of formal garden areas, an arboritum from 1900, and wind mills from Holland. I don't know of another city park with a heard of buffalo, but Golden Gate Park has one. There are walking paths and asphalt paths for bikers and roller bladers. They have a world class museum, DeYoung, that specializes in American art. The gem of the park to me is the Japanese Tea Garden. It's so serene and peaceful. A perfect quiet spot in the middle of the city.

Tue Jun 25 2002While there isn't a whole lot to do outside of 'park activities' (with the exception of the excellent museums!), it is a lovely place to drive through and it amazingly makes you feel a hundred miles away from the city yet still enveloped in that San Francisco glory! Awesome!

Thu Jun 14 2001Golden Gate Park is beautiful, romantic, and fun! Weather you're touring the botanical gardens, visiting the museum or taking a romantic stroll through, you'll love it! Remember the park that they danced in in "the Wedding Planner?" Well, that's it! Golden Gate Park...it's beautiful! Right up there with the Washington Mall in DC!

Fri Dec 15 2000I rate it a 5 because this park is so beautiful! they have the Asian Academy of Arts and museums there, and the garden is so incredible. It is so big and pleasant to just walk around and spend time with your family and friends, or by yourself to just meditate. This totally is a tourist attraction, especially if you are into nature and arts.

Fri Dec 15 2000It is OK because there are a lot of things to look at: museums, Japanese tea garden, and good views. It is good, however, it is too large, so it is a hard thing to go around and take a look at these things. It has a large space, but most of it are trees, like forests. Although we can use the large space to play tennis, or BBQ, whatever, I hope for them to be located in a more useful way.

Wed Dec 13 2000Great park set aside in the heart of San Francisco. Multi-culturism at its peak. Needs to be highly maintained to feel safe and clean.

Fri Oct 13 2000I love Golden Gate Park. It is so amazing to me that in the middle of a huge city, there is this huge park with trails, fields, tennis courts, museums, gardens, BBQs, and much more. I love going to the park and playing frisbee or just going on a run. It gives you a chance to breath some fresh air, get outside and get a break from the city.

Fri Jul 14 2000This is the best place to be in San Francisco on a nice sunny Sat. or Sun. There are many things to do like, sit in the sun, bike, rollerblade, toss a football or go to a museum. It is huge and green. I have lived in SF all my life and am always amazed at how beautiful it is there. It is also very clean since they moved all the homeless out. The only bad thing is that on the weekends everybody wants to be there and traffic and parking is tough.

Wed Jul 05 2000I thought this place was fun. Here's a place anyone, a native of the Bay Area or a visitor can and enjoy. It is mixed with several things to do, go to the children's playground part and let yourself be a kid. Go to the Japanese Garden and have a cup of tea amidst the tranquility of the plants, trees, waters, shrines, etc. See a concert in their rose garden area. I didn't even have a time to see the entire park but what I did see was beautiful and enjoyable to see.

Tue Jun 06 2000Great place to visit on a sunny day with lots of things to do. There are the museums, aquariums, and exploratorium. You can also go paddle boating, horseback riding, or visit the ponds and playgrounds.

Thu Jun 01 2000A great park with lots of different areas to check out, including a field full of buffalo. The best way to see it is on a bike.

Mon May 22 2000Of all the places I've ever rollerbladed-the park is my favorite. Not only does it offer challengiing skating, the asthetic surroundings give an energy uncommon in big cities.

Mon May 15 2000Golden Gate Park is very pretty and has a very relaxing atomosphere. The place is huge so if you're looking for a little quiet time its not a problem. It's lovely both at daytime and at night.

Mon Dec 06 1999The whole national park system, and GG park in particular, ought to be ashamed at the way they are slowly selling off our nation's most sacred public lands just because they can't employ efficient business practices. A few less bureaucrats in return for a few more acres I say.
