Fri Jan 29 2010I had heard of it, but never been till saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. So I went when my friend was here from Chicago, both agreed the pizza was really good, the sauce and pepperoni were excellent, but the pizzas are small if your a pig like myself. I would still put in my top 3 or 4 in Cleveland, maybe top 10 that I've had ever.

Tue Dec 01 2009Great dining experience! My wife, mother-in-law and I went to Geraci's after seeing the Triple-D episode on TV. The wait was about 15 minutes and the service was attentive after we were seated. The pizza was excellent, my wife had the lasagna and loved it. My mother-in-law enjoyed the food, she is Italian and it passed her standards (remarkable). My wife invited Mrs. Geraci to sit with us and her company was delightful. Next time we're in Cleveland another visit is definitely on the agenda.

Sat Apr 11 2009I have been going to Geraci's for over 50 years.....It has obviously stood the test of time. One must overlook the male half of owners......he is rarely there anymore. The food is great....reasonable and the atmosphere is friendly even when HE is sitting there watching like a hawk! Everyone mellows with time.............but the food?? Mama Mia:)

Fri Mar 20 2009The pizza is very good I love the pepperoni. And the antipasto salad is the just the absolute best! they have thick pieces of meat and cheese and the dressing just sets it off. And the garlic toast that comes with it magnificent! I used to work next door to geraci's and ordered for lunch on a regular. They are the best!

Sat Jul 26 2008Ok here's my recollection of Geraci's Pizza. I used to work there back in the 70's while going through school, so I can remember their heyday! I was one of the guys making the pizzas during the busiest dinner times over the weekends back then. We used to pack them in that place and I am not kidding. Wanna talk about dreaming about pizzas, try having nightmares about having a huge stack of waiting orders to be filled and not burning the existing pies in the 650 degree ovens. Well time moves and Its been 30 years, and I still find myself comparing other pizza'a to theirs. I took my significant other back to Cleveland to try on of their pizzas and she was blown away by it. She said it was the best she had ever had. I have found many good pizza's and many mediocre ones and a few really bad ones, but theirs stands the test of time, as my recent trip back proved. It was indeed like going home to a home cooked meal! As for the secret to their pizza? How does one define any secret, its... Read more

Fri Dec 28 2007Pizza was so-so. When I've ordered a barbecue chicken pizza elsewhere it comes with barbecue sauce not tomato sauce, odd taste. They only take cash or checks and that information is not prominently posted. There is a small sign on the cash register...............a little late. When I called in I stated that I had never been there before, the fact that they don't take any credit cards should have been stated then. I overheard the staff semi-complaining about a party of 35 coming in, that there was no place they could put them.

Thu May 17 2007Tried Geracis for the first time recently and I was impressed. The restaurant is a tight squeeze but once seated it was no problem. We had a comfy booth for the two of us. We waited a bit for the pizza but that was expected during a busy Friday night dinner rush. Our server was very friendly. The pizza was very tasty. Not thrown together like others pizzas that are made during busy hours. The prices are very reasonable. Cherry soda was a nice surprise, nobody seems to carry that in the fountains anymore.

Sat Oct 07 2006Similar pizza to Mama Santa's (top rated) and the pizza is very easy to eat; however, the sausage was average quality. One individual in my party compared it to Totino's store pizza. The meatball sandwich gives you an idea of sauce genorosity and there was very little on the meatball sandwich ($6.95), size average no potato chips (Pizzazz's is $5.50), just three pepperocinis. The meatball quality was excellent. The dining experience at Geraci's dine in has to be experienced once. There was a waiting line of about fifteen minutes and three parties on Saturday night; there was one or two parties waiting when we left. The dining room is about twenty five tables closely seated with nice bright lighting and very enjoyable conversation everywhere; the noise level will rise if you rise you voice above the noise level. The presentation of the pasta dishes and the portion sizes were very good. Service was very good; the restaurant has as much carryout business as dine in so expect to be... Read more

Mon Aug 21 2006The pasta here is awesome, but I go for the pizza. This is one of the best pies I have ever had... anywhere! The pepperoni is out of this world and the sausage is equally as good. Eat it there and enjoy the ambiance, or take it out, but don't try to use plastic, they don't take it.

Thu Jul 27 2006The Scene Want to go where everybody knows your name? At Geraci's, your name is "honey." As in, "Honey, seat yourself," or "Honey, you look a little thin. Lost weight?" From the outside, there's little to recommend the place. Inside, the decor runs to high pizzeria: Martini & Rossi posters, overhead fans, fake stone arches and extra paper napkins tucked into water glasses. The Food Most menu items are covered in a semi-sweet tomato marinara referred to locally as Geraci sauce. Baked pasta, golden-breaded veal, deep-dish pizza are the equal of anything offered at more upscale alternatives. The pasta is a perfect al dente. The sweet sausage plays off the delicacy of the veal. Sadly, not even the Geraci magic can make a pineapple pie palatable; but the pepperoni is an epiphany, imported especially for use as a thin-sliced topper. The pizzas (four-cut smalls or eight-cut jumbos, loaded with everything from mushrooms to buffalo chicken) are among the best in the hemisphere.

Thu Jul 01 2004I have traveled all over the world and tried pizza everywhere. I tell you - there is no better pizza. I have begged for the recipe - and of course - it's a secret. Have you ever wondered what food you would desire most - if you were a castaway on a lonely little boat lost in the ocean - with no food or water for days and days. I would dream of Geraci's pizza. I know - it sounds rediiculous - but its true. But this is coming from a guy who drives into Cleveland from Chicago - just for a delicious- DELICIOUS - Geraci's pizza. I'm not kidding. That's my opinion - and I stand by it. PS - I even have my parents FEDEX me a pizza from time to time. I'm that sickly in love with it.

Sun May 16 2004I have been going to Geraci's for years and have not found a better pizza- not in NY, not in Chicago. The pizza is reliable, always fantastic with fresh toppings. The fried ravioli's are also a favorite.

Fri Dec 12 2003When I visited Geraci's, the waitstaff was somewhat rude with kids. Not suggested for larger groups, either. Decent food, however.

Sat Jul 05 2003I began wating pizza at Geraci's in 1970 as a student attending nearby John Carroll University. I recently was back in the area and had a chance to eat there sevral times -- the pizza still is excellent and the eggplant also was very good. I'll go back again!

Sat Jul 05 2003I live on an island in Lake Erie and when I want really great Italian food I travel across a lake and drive nearly 2 hours to Geraci's. The food and service is excellent and I love the ambiance...it's like coming home for dinner. I always feel like a member of the family and I enjoy the exellent wine list and the variety of entrees. And I love Geraci's pizza. Dining here has always been a pleasure.

Sun Feb 09 2003Finally, someone decides to give Geraci's its due! For generations this has been the place to be after any local event for kids to adults. I can remember the trip to Geraci's after dance classes at Flo Shapiro's decades ago. It was actually a social event that you couldn't ignore. Even IF the food was only medicre, you had to make an appearance. The pizza is about the best there is. I can still taste it! Well of course I can, I just had one last week. I will make the 40 mile trip just to go to Geraci's just because. You can't lose here. Try it, you'll LOVE it.

Thu Dec 05 2002It took an hour for them to get our pizza, then on top of that they got it wrong, and it took another hour for them to get it right. One word: Pathetic

Fri Oct 18 2002As one of the many long time employees of Geraci's, I simply must respond to the "Dragon Lady" review. At least 95% of our valued patrons are friendly, courteous and generous. But that small percent who suck down enormous quantities of liquids, reach into the bread basket before the bread plates are served, insist on piling coats on a chair rather than using the coat rack, flag servers down to order when they have no idea what they want and behave as though the lack of a handful of cheese is the end of the world: watch out, we've got names for you too!!!!!

Mon Jul 29 2002I live on the Westside of Cleveland and travel over to University Hts the long way whenever I want a great pizza. Granted the service can sometimes be not too attentive, but the pizza......YUM! The pepperoni is REAL, not the greasy thin slices. The pasta dishes are great too! Actually everything there on the menu is great.
